  1. Also doesn't take in to account other revenue streams to get total income. Looking at average gates Dunfermline's receipts are probably £700-900k more than ours depending on what they charge. Nor does it take in to account the financial state of the club. The good thing about Ayr is that we're in a good place financially so anything over budget should be able to be used to keep developing the squad rather than servicing debt.
  2. If you haven't seen the full thread, this is the total prize money each of the teams in the Championship next season won this year, showing both Partick and Ross County and assuming ICT don't win the cup: Dundee United £1.982m Ross County £1.43m ICT £820k Ayr £721k Partick £540k QP £523k Raith £430k Morton £371.5k Arbroath £309k Dunfermline £198k Airdrie £143k
  3. It wasn't Bullen out there second to every ball. You can pick faults in tactics or selection but individually we were way off it tonight.
  4. In the first 10-15 minutes he wasn't isolated and O'Connor, Mullin and McGuire were all getting close enough to provide support. The Thistle goal seemed to deflate us and we just didn't maintain that bar a spell towards the end of the first half We didn't start the second half at all and Thistle were 3 up before we got a kick. It was only the final 5-10 minutes when we got any support to the striker As has been said, we're hopeless at stopping crosses in to the box. Both centre backs are fine when teams attack us centrally but the full back weakness needs to be sorted next season. I also think we could do with a bit of an enforcer in midfield. Dempsey and Murdoch are fine at this level but we're too soft. I also think we need two strikers up front next season. We can't assume we'll have another 20 goal number 9.
  5. No chance Arsenal are letting him go. He was on the bench against West Ham last season and is highly rated.
  6. I'd heard it was Much from Edinburgh who I wouldn't be averse to. He's 6'4" and got 125 league appearances so really decent back up to Albinson. Could also improve with the coaching he'd get at Ayr.
  7. Second half of the season in particular he's been our best player. Timmins probably gets overlooked as he came in with Hopkin but seems to know what he's doing regarding coaching keepers.
  8. Must me the quietest game Dipo has had this season. We've just never got any support up to him. Game has really shown how far some of this squad are off the level needed to compete at the top of the Championship. I just don't see what the likes of Ashford or JML offer.
  9. Well worked goal for Arbroath - ironically just as we were having a decent spell.
  10. As a neutral observer I'd not be too bothered about where Queens Park played if they won promotion. To be fair to other clubs, though, I'd expect any deal for Hampden or any other venue to be done at commercial rates. The SRU were looking for £600k for the hire of Murrayfield for 6 games, so even if it was only for OF games you'd be expecting it to be in the region of £100k per game.
  11. The rest of this month is pretty big. We need to be capitalising on the three games against the three bottom teams. Anything from the Dundee game would be a bonus. I reckon that would leave us 3rd at worst but with a really tough April to come. At least, though, we'd be in the mix and have something to play for.
  12. Still feeling pretty scunnered by Monday night but I'm old enough that this doesn't feel quite as bad as losing the Scottish Cup semi to Rangers in 72-73 or the League Cup semi to Dundee in 80-81. We suffered some poor refereeing decisions in both and the latter in particular is probably the most miserable I've ever been after a game.
  13. Don't think our bench was particularly strong last night but I'd definitely have brought Murdoch on. We stopped pressing high and consequently Falkirk were being given too much time. I think he'd have given us more dig in there. I also think Dempsey is a far better player alongside him.
  14. Superb first half. Really thought we were going to do it but early second half goal was a bit of a sickener.
  15. Any feedback on ticket sales for Monday? Be good to see a decent away support for this.
  16. Second bottom in the Premiership should play 4th in the Championship. The playoffs are too heavily weighted on survival of the top tier team.
  17. Appealing or some sort of statement is fine, but the damage was done on Saturday. The decision cost us a point or 3. In a ridiculously tight league we could have been sitting second with 3 reasonably favourable fixtures in the next 4 and QP to come at home. It could be a very expensive red card.
  18. Reminds me of when I was playing amateur football and when clearing up the line my follow through went right through the opposition winger's nuts. I'd never heard someone squeal like a pig until then.
  19. Hadn't realised it's been quite as long but that's us been 4 months without Musonda and two without Murdoch. Any team in this league would struggle with that.
  20. I'd thought you had to be signed at the time of the draw, but I've checked the rules and it looks like it's at the time of the original fixture. I'm sure back in the day it was different.
  21. Don't think McGuire's experience will help unless it's in the build up as I doubt he's eligible given his signing date
  22. No doubt Murdoch and Musonda coming back will strengthen the team hugely. Murdoch in particular provides the balance in the midfield. Seems to me though, that the long ball must be a tactic as even Kirk seems to have adopted it a bit more. He's generally a bit more accurate than McGinty but earlier in the season he has looking for a pass in to midfield more often.
