  1. I was always impressed by the way they duffed Kilmarnock up to make it look as good as it did on The Scheme.
  2. In the game at Palmerston when you put 5 past us Dobbie got 4 goals, but Dykes was clearly the difference between the teams. He completely unsettled what turned out to be a very decent defence.
  3. Rikki Fleming, Spud Murphy? It's a tough one. Rikki was my favourite ever Ayr player but I went with the ones who'd achieved most in their careers (except Alan McInally - I still don't know how he managed that).
  4. Stevie Nicol (5 English titles, 3 FA Cups, 1 European Cup and 27 Scotland caps) Davie Stewart (1 Scotland cap and a losing European Cup final) Robert Connor ( 4 Scotland caps) All did pretty well after they left us so might bring them back. Two came through the boy's club. Dick Malone and Johnny Doyle just missing out.
  5. Big difference when Bradley came on. Afolabi waits for things to happen, Bradley's involving himself to try and make them happen.
  6. Looks like the league has already split in two. We're looking at 6th at best now. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
  7. And lack of a decent midfielder capable of partnering Murdoch means we are playing Muirhead out of position rather than alongside Baird. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
  8. Really poor from us today. Maybe slightly forced by absences, but if we're going to to revert to sitting in and playing for a draw we need to defend better than that. All the goals were examples of poor defending. What's the point of a giant like McGinty if he can't win a header in his own box? In midfield it felt like Murdoch was toiling on his own and was completely outnumbered, and up front we offered nothing. I know Moffat is a club legend and this might be heresy, but I just don't think he has the legs anymore. I think he's going to be more effective off the bench against tired legs. 9. Aye, but a blow when Duffy leaves us for the Scotland job rather than masterminding our SPFL challenge.
  10. Nice to see we could make 8 changes and still field a team that could come through this comfortably, even if it was non-league opposition.
  11. Absolutely agree on Murdoch. He'll be a key player for us and had a great game. For all the pelters Salkeld gets, I thought his movement was excellent - kept appearing in all the right places, and first half in particular was very dangerous. Young Bradley also looked decent and the assist was a reward for a ton of hard work.
  12. You could maybe just about make an argument that the players are making more effort than last season, but on the whole we've gone backwards since Kerr's time in charge. Hopkin's record is a disgrace in the league. I'd be giving him from now until the end of September to prove he has what it takes.
  13. I suspect he wasn't fit when he was at Ayr. At Alloa he looked decent enough.
  14. I'm not so sure. Folk had the fear when Ndaba got injured at Arbroath but I don't think Roscoe has let us down since he came back in. He won't ever be flash, but I think he can become a steady centre half.
  15. What about wanting him gone if we stay up? He's clueless
  16. Todd shows that Chalmers isn't the only one who can waste a dead ball situation.
  17. Against a team of relative giants as well. You have to wonder what Hopkin is thinking.
  18. I was just about to say we're sitting too deep. Asking for that.
  19. Still toothless up front, but if we'd shown as much effort in the past few weeks we'd be in a far better place. Good performances from a few in there - McKenzie, McCowan, Roscoe, Reading all decent. Think we were a bit too cautious though. At about 70 minutes I'd have been looking for more positive changes.
  20. I have been more surprised if he'd been fit. He was injured from about half way through the first half last week. Given we were out of it, I was surprised he came out after halftime.
  21. I can't see any way out for us now unless we win on Saturday. Morton are likely to beat Alloa. Even then, we probably need Arbroath to lose at Dunfermline so they and Morton can't play out a boring 0-0 the following week safe in the knowledge we're unlikely to get anything in Inverness.
