The article I read stated he was scoring freely for Hibs reserves. -

Would like to think we would bring a loanee in to provide cover for any injuries or suspensions which are liable to occur. Raith have yesterday brought in a striker from Hibs who appears to score goals. The last quarter of the league is going to be tough with everone fighting for position. -

Last player that I can remember getting a testimonial is J. McAuley but maybe also J. McGlashan? -

This could well resonate with the Forfar fans! -

Would agree with this line up except I would replace Swankie with Mc Cord as the former was rank last night, 4 misplaced passes to give the opposition possession and 2 poorly taken free kicks .The team played far better when McCord came on. It is about time the team and the manager gave their-selves a good shake as we are only 2 points better of than Forfar were 2 seasons ago and we all know what happened then.Dicks persistence in playing his new signings who are certainly no better than what we had is affecting the rythm of the team. Certainly agree with comments on another thread that had Wallce missed the chances Spence had last night he would have been vilified. Rather than signing the players that he did recently I and many others would have preferred the signing of a good wide player to take the pressure off Linn and given the team more width. Would like to ask where were the strikers last night when McKenna made several charges up the wing and there was no support for a cross into the box resulting in Mikey having to shoot from acute angles. Certainly hope Dick acknowledges changes require to be made for the game against Raith , otherwise if we play as we did the formation of last night I fear for the worst. -

Weather conditions in Arbroath to-day at 3.0pm are almost identical to what is expected at the same time to-morrow, would be interested in comments over this period to give an indication as to what might be decided. -

I totally agree with your comment and I think Swankie should be replaced by McCord against Stranraer. -

Donnelly to me is a waste of space, does nothing and should not displace McKenna who when he came on made a difference. Before Forfar scored we had 3 great balls across the 6 yard box and not 1 of them was put away. Wallace and Swankie did nothing. -

I was of the feeling that Jamieson should have saved the 2nd goal but overall he has been good . The real culprit was Swankie who took the ball off O'Briens feet and allowed the Forfar player to run in in and fire in the shot. -

Cannot remember the floodlights in the 1950s which may have been quite primitive as regards the the 70s these were inaugerated in 1972 when we were promoted to the 1st Division and it was a mid-week game against Dundee who unfortunately beat us quite handsomely. -

Stranraer may have won to-day but they really did not beat us, we did that ourselves by the misses we had. Players clean through 3 times and unable to put the ball in the net. As for the opposition their tackling was a disgrace and Hamill should have been off but was saved by refs incompetence who failed to book him in the 1st half for his tackle on B.Linn. S Farrell should be ashamed of his players the way they kicked up us in the air and they were greatly helped by the ref who was not strict enough. -

Good article in to-day's Sunday Post regarding Fernie who played for us in the late 1950's stating Celtic would not pay the money for him and he ended up at Doncaster. A great player and part of a great team with Williamson, Fraser and Eason. -

To-night in my opinion we were an embarrassment ,humiliated and outplayed, all credit to Edinburgh who were the better team , continue to play like we did to-night and we have no hope of being in the play-offs. The manager stated we have players who are unable to get into the first eleven that other teams would wish to have, well after to-nights display I would disagree as this was their opportunity to prove it, come the New Year and I would be thinking off of-loading a few. I would like ask did we want to win or were we just going through the motions, our mid-field is generally non -existent in most games as we continually hoof the ball up the park, contrast that to Edinburgh City who controlled and played through the mid-field and caused us problems with their distribution and balls in behind the defence. Yes I know many supporters will say we are presently top of the league but we have been there before and it is where we are at the end of the season that counts . -

Hi, Guys just wondering what the weather is like in Arbroath, raining here in the Capital but not really windy, if likewise at Gayfield then should not be too bad. Will not be in attendance so looking forward to watching it on T.V. -

As I remember it both games had the kick-off delayed to allow the crowds to get in. -

Been to both and my best memories of both was when beat Dumbarton 3-1 in the days of Lex Richardson[can't remember the year] and 1993 when we went for a cup reply with the winners due to play Rangers. E.F took the lead and Paul Tosh equalised before being sent of with the E.F. keeper. AF.C. went onto win 4-1 with our left back scoring twice, forget his name but he was signed from Hearts. Danny McGrain was our manager. -

After our result against Dumbarton when I thought we looked tired after our mid-week game ,Dick has got to fullfill his statement and get another striker and defensive mid-fielder in.In this game McKenna for once looked jaded and Wallace wasted 3 free kicks two of which were on the edge of the box.Overall our squad is limited and needs bolstered.I understand we have been offered players from SPL teams but have yet to take up the offer. -

Was not at the game but remember it well unfortunately. From memory Arbroath were called the giant -killers of B Division for their exploits described in the programme as in these days there were two divisions A&B and C , Dvision was made up of reserve teams which funnily enough included Brechin as they were so bad. I think Prentice of the Rangers was John who later became our manager. In the A.F.C team ,Malcolm went to Ipswich, Gallacher to Dumbarton and he scored 4 against us but Easson eclipsed him in the same game with 5 goals, Grant I think may have been the father or grandfather of one of our future sponsors.[hope this last statement does not get into hot water.] -

Agree with this except I would retain Gomes and free Kane Hester who lacks body strength to ward off tackles. Possibly might also let McIntosh go. -

Despite Martin being listed on this thread as a candidate to play against Raith, I have a feeling he is suspended due to his accumulation of yellow cards.
