  1. No, Jim Fraser was signed from Aberdeen Sunnybank and went to Clyde after Arbroath when John Prentice left as manager and became manager of Clyde. Williamson was eventually signed by Barnsley and A.F.C went straight out and bought Bobby Reid a Dundonian who was keeper at Cardiff City. Williamson's brother Jim also a goalkeeper signed for Arbroath in the late sixties and unfortunately died about 5 years ago.
  2. Certainly do remember that team , was in 1959 when we were playing in the 1st Division or as it is now known the Premier League.
  3. Sitting on the bus last night in the Capital having just had a few vinos and reflecting on our great win. Behind me were a Hibs fan and a Jambo speaking about todays game Rangers v Hibs, the Hibbee was saying Gers were the favourites and he was not keen to go to the game. The Jambo pointed out if he did not go and Hibs won he would regret it. Right enough said his friend, after all who would have thought Kilmarnock would have been beaten by Arbroath , I of course piped up ME and produced my Season Ticket to prove my allegiance. Oh great stated the two supporters then the Hibbee said that his father had left him a bottle of whisky from the eighties and it was a special edition of Arbroath Whisky issued for probably our centenary from 1978 or some other occasion and he took my address for delivery, winners today, Hibs, coincidence or the paranormal? You tell me.
  4. Am I missing something as I have not seen anything about tickets for Arbroath fans on the website.
  5. Thank you for the compliment for the team I have supported for over 70years. Joel is very much liked by all at the club and is great with the kids and will be greatly missed. I just hope the fans come out in their numbers to give him a great send off in his last game for Arbroath . Perhaps Livingston will give us both of these players , whichever one it is he will be made most welcome.
  6. Sorry guys I went into Google and unfortunately we were beaten 3-2,should have done that first, it is an age thing and wishful thinking.
  7. I seem to recall Arbroath playing Kilmarnock on a Monday or Wednesday night in 1958 at Rugby Park in the days of Dave Easson and in Division 1 which is now the Premier League and the score was 2-1 for Arbroath. I may be wrong but I feel quite confident.
  8. Having spoken to a neighbour who is a Hearts fan he stated that Arbroath's second half streaming is every bit as good as the Hearts and obviously the gremlins being encountered in the first half was out with our control.
  9. When Stewart was through he should squared the ball to the two Arbroath players in the middle and I think it would have been game over.
  10. Regretfully I cannot see that happening as it is in the Edinburgh papers that Hamilton are after him also.
  11. Just want to know if the pitch is clear as there is at least an inch of snow in Edinburgh.
  12. To play it to-morrow requires agreement between the clubs , approval from the SFA and depends on the availability of the refs and linesmen. Anyway thanks to all the staff and groundsmen for their efforts in trying to ensure the game went ahead. THANKS.
  13. Assuming that you may be referring to Gayfield ,according to Google, Dens Park is 100m x 64m , whereas Gayfield is 105mx65m. You decide which one is the Junior playing surface.
  14. You know I cant say for sure about the keeper, but did Tosh not score his second with a penalty and later him and the keeper had a punch up at a corner. The main thing is we won and it was a great night.
  15. Both of the games against East Fife had the kick-offs delayed to let the crowd in. At the replay at Bayview EF scored first and then Paul Tosh equalised just before half-time. In the second-half Tosh and the EF keeper were sent off for fighting and AFC went onto win with our left-back scoring twice , his name evades me at the moment .My friend John who was with me twice went to the loo and both occasions missed Arbroath scoring, I kept saying to him away to the loo and let us score again. The game against Rangers was played on one of the calmest days ever which obviously did not suit us .
  16. i have paid my subscription but i cant log into the game please help.
  17. Yes you are correct Smith is ineligible or Hearts have stipulated that he cannot play against them.
  18. i have just tried it and the 1st page is about a programme ,go to the top of the page and I think you then click on Stirling Albion website and that takes you to sale of tickets for to-nights game .Hope this helps.
  19. Queens Park are also sponsored by a millionaire who I think at one time was a director at Celtic , I think is his name is Willie Haughey. [alledgedly]
  20. If this is passed by a vote of members then Patrick Thistle as a member should abide by the rules and accept the decision . End of. In 2012 I think it was that the a decision of the same members destined Rangers to League 3 which they accepted.
  21. Any one see D. Denholms article in to-day's Scottish Mail on Sunday where he states he goes running with D. Gold who eventually leaves him for dead and finishes a full 100metres ahead of him.Danny that should be a message to you.
  22. Well done ladies your a credit to yourselves and the club. I am sure you had a great day.
  23. This is something I would gladly subscribe too. One way or another I think we should all endeavour to assist the club over this difficult period. As someone suggested the money you would normally pay for entrance to home game if you gave this to the club would be an immense help, 5 home games at £18 = £90. which I can appreciate is not what everyone can afford. But every little would help. They enjoyment and elation we have all experienced over the past few seasons with the teams performances and the management and committees efforts deserves to be rewarded by some means or another and we should not let this virus be our downfall.
