Everytime there is talk of reconstruction or moves to improve the game, Why is it both your club and your evil twin are dead set against it?

Lets be honest your both more than happy to be big fishes in a small pond.

Now we are getting to the crux of it. For a while the domestic set-up suited this pair of parasites down to the ground. First and second guaranteed every season and a media deal which paid out massively top heavy towards positions 1 and 2. Not a huge amount of money still, not to them anyway. Then a big gap to third and everyone else much of a muchness. The poor financial rewards for everyone else keeps them slitting each others throats season after season and nobody really able to pull away within that ten. It was all about the Champions League money and a twenty to thirty million windfall from the group stages. Money that had another club been able to snatch, would have opened up a three horse race. Now the financials in England have increased so much, even thirty million each season is not enough to compete with the big boys. This might actually prompt some kind of change now because the cosy little system is no longer enough for them. I expect some more squealing about an Atlantic League soon.

Is there a scenario where plastic pitches are banned in the top division but a club who has one gets promoted, has a 3 year grace period to change it but decides not to and takes a forced relegation on the chin as it’s more cost effective!

If that scenario arises, it will almost definitely be serial drop-dodgers Aberdeen who escape; with their knickers roond their ankles! 😄

Thought we were quite good 1st half, though Aberdeen were poor. Was a good away performance, kept it pretty tight, scored, looked no bad on the counter. 2nd was so, so bad. Tried to sit in on the lead and failed to change it at all positively despite being second best.

After the equaliser I thought we'd actually weathered the storm after about 20 minutes and it became scrappy but the defending for that winner was fucking appalling.

Halkett sub was baffling. Chuck Tagawa on and give no support. Kingsley out to RWB. Again we failed to link the midfield and forwards. Naismith has to show he can learn to manage in game sharpish or he's not long for the chop as his subs routinely make us worse.

The substitutions were like a kid playing FIFA.

When you become a company director, you have a legal duty to act in the interests of the company, and hence its shareholders. You political views are irrelevant.

Absolutely. I was just pointing out that despite the general consensus among the Celtic support, their board is often politically the polar opposite of that image, particularly in terms of conservatism. I mean then there is the fact that Celtic are a globalised brand owned by industrialists capitalists… 😄

I thought it was a shortened version of Tim Malloy ie rhyming slang for bhoy.

It is. Apologies for linking this site, but it was the only link I found that had a photograph of the article:

One of my mates refers to himself as a Tim, and I know a few more casual acquaintances who do as well.

Ive never known a Celtic fan to claim this? Ive seen it on Celtic scarves and it’s even referenced in a Celtic song.

I know loads of Celtic fans who call themselves that. Genuinely surprised to hear it is a banned word on here. I also remember Neil Lennon surrounded by Thai children in a video a few years ago. The title given to the group by the Celtic supporters sharing it was “Thai ****”.

Maybe could step in and save Christmas for Edinburgh City

What’s today?” cried Kensel, calling downward to a boy in Sunday clothes.

“Today?” replied the boy. “Why, Christmas Day!”

“It’s Christmas Day!” said Kensel to himself. “I haven’t missed it! The spirits have done it all in one night. Hallo, my fine fellow! Do you know the football club at Meadowbank? And do you know whether they are up for sale?”

“What, the one with the running track?” returned the boy. “It’s still hanging around.”

“Is it!” said Kensel. “Go and buy it! I am in earnest. Go and buy it and come back with the man that I may give them the direction where to take it. I’ll give you a shilling for it. Come back with the man in less than five minutes and I’ll give you half-a-crown!”

From the outside looking in he just seems to be a bit unlikeable in how he comes across in interviews etc.

Also, and I know this shouldn’t matter but in my head it does, he just looks a bit scrappy. I’m not saying that he needs to wear a suit etc because I don’t think that’s the answer I just think he’s one of those types of guys who just looks a bit rough regardless. He doesn’t seem to be the type of person to instill confidence or require your respect.

He looks like a dinner lady.

SPFL club facing cash crisis after failing to pay players' wages - with payments before Christmas NOT guaranteed | The Scottish Sun

TOUGH TIMES - Edinburgh City facing cash crisis after failing to pay players' wages

EDINBURGH CITY are facing a cash crisis with the struggling League One outfit unable to pay some of their players - with payments before Christmas NOT guaranteed. It’s believed club chiefs had been expecting a significant level of income in recent weeks. But that money has so far failed to materialise, which has now left gutted directors facing a cash-flow crisis.

It's believed players could leave for free in January. SunSport can reveal a number of the first-team squad - bossed by Scotland B cap Michael McIndoe - are already owed wages. And they have been warned payments are NOT guaranteed before Christmas.

A club spokesperson confirmed: “It is an unfortunate situation but we desperately want to resolve it in the best interests of all concerned. “We are doing everything humanly possible to find a solution as quickly as possible.”

It’s understood chairman John Dickson has made the SPFL aware of the situation.

Are they not quite close to Hibs? Maybe Hibs will do a Duff, Gray and Mercer with them? Dual ownership rules been relaxed recently, I think.

Yup outstanding player but utter c**t of a human being. I think he was quoted though that he didn't let his political beliefs known whilst he was at Celtic because he knew it wouldn't go down well. Some of his stories as manager portray him as being a rather unstable person.

I suspect a lot of your current board do likewise. Albeit probably slightly less unpalatable political views.

  11. Hamilton for least, probably. Other than relegating Hibs I can’t think of anything that piqued my attention over the years. I find all the fat, red-dished orange order lifestyle a real turn off, so I would hate to live somewhere where that is a big thing. So for that reason Airdrie have to get an honourable mention too.

Most is my own club: HMFC. Would be weird to choose any other club. If I had not inherited them from an unbroken line from father to child since people first started watching football in Edinburgh, then I think I would probably still have chosen them as my club. Outside of HMFC, I used to quite like Raith Rovers for various reasons too: The old McCrae’s Battalion connection, the team that beat Celtic to lift the League Cup and then went on to lead vs Bayern Munich. Also liked how Turnbull Hutton was so outspoken about the ‘zombification’ of Rangers and the attempts to insert them in to a higher level than they should. As it was they ultimately did get inserted higher of course, but at least it wasn’t the SPL or First Division. I went off them a bit during the vote to end the season however.

That’s cool,  I’m not big on the history and traditions of the football club really although I do appreciate our back ground.  I certainly don’t hate hertz despite trying to put us out of business  come early 90. Unless it’s match day.
each to their own and all that, I hate the feeling old firm for their destruction of Scottish football and religious historic shite they come out with every week a lot more than my local rivals, without a derby football would be absolutely shite.

Hearts supporters and players joined FoH rallies. When we were in trouble however…

Out of interest why do you seriously dislike Hibernian?

They were not needed. We had no sectarian policy at Edinburgh’s original football club. Hibs felt the need to present themselves as a counter-piece to my City’s history and heritage, for sectarian reasons. They literally had a policy of not employing players who were not of Irish descent. Since then, and in my lifetime, they have blurred the lines of sporting rivalry to something that it should not be. Things like fantasising about culture and image… makes me want to puke tbh. Pretentious nonsense, and a security blanket for supporters who have so little to grasp hold of in terms of honours won on grass.

On top of that, the way your fellow supporters tried to crash our CVA when we were on the brink of destruction, compared to how we supported your claim to be allowed in the Scottish league, and the Jambos who joined HoH rallies.

I despise the actions of your football club. Especially that c**t Petrie.

You seem like a decent enough lad though, despite posting on Kickback and pretending to be an HMFC supporter under the pseudo of “Last Laff”. (😉)

That's the issue but I fear that horse has already bolted.

The kids where I live were playing football in the summer which cheered me up no end then I saw the kits they were wearing. It was all Man City, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Arsenal , Man United and Newcastle.  No Celtic/Rangers kits either. Then visited my mum in Edinburgh and the same story repeated itself. So that was two areas that should be fertile areas for Hibs/Hearts/Dunfermline etc.

My youngest wants a football kit but isn't interested in actually going to a match or any Scottish team Which is depressing for me as at his age I basically lived in my Hibs or Scotland kits in the summer especially. I think we are now in territory where a lot of kids see football as something that just happens on TV and that there is no need to be there as its all on tv or their tablet.

Genuinely devasted for you, mate. Despite being a Hibee you clearly understand change of tide, and I do not dislike you as much as a glory hunter.

My own boy climbs up beside me on the settee or bed and watches the matches with me. I feel amazing when that happens! He is not a football fan, but he is a daddy fan, and he supports HMFC despite not even knowing what football really is. He will be my crutch taking me to games when I am an involved, and we will pass on our experiences of supporting our team in the years to come.

One of the people I like most on this planet is a Hibs supporter. As was my Granddad.

I seriously dislike your club, but I respect and recognise your efforts in stopping your progeny straying off the path and in to the EPL dark woods.

I grew up in Balerno and it was full of Hearts strips as a bairn. I now live in Penicuik and they are still there too.
