There has been a reset around Christmas in recent years, if you haven’t reached the threshold for suspension then the target gets doubled.  Don’t know the fine detail or the wording.

(Vested interest as Slattery and KVV flirted with or breached the thresholds last season).

I had thought there was something like this. Just can’t see it written anywhere.

Think that's only an English rule, can't see anything saying that in the SFA guidance, though i might have missed it

You could be right, mate. I’ve had a bit of a look and can’t find anything about it being the rule in Scotland. Wouldn’t be the first time we have copied the things that are a shit idea and failed to adopt any that are good.

Very few players I can remember when you are genuinely feart of them scoring every time they get the ball (except for penalties :P)

Different sort of player, and I am not comparing styles or ability, merely referencing what you said, but I was always of the opinion that we had to score at least twice to beat Celtic when Larsson played for them

Of all the teams involved, id say you lot are the safest. Then Aberdeen.

After that id say only County are now at risk of finishing 12th.

Feel like every club bar County is also well set to win a play off.

I would not fancy Hibs in their current state to win a play off. Long way to go though and a lot can change between now and then.

With the current manager? Not all that confident at the moment, but we aren’t there yet. We were miles worse in 2013/14, not even close for me. A half decent manager gets a tune out of our squad, christ even Lee Johnson did better with them last season.

From the outside looking in there does not seem to be any structure or balance. The squad has grown to the larger end of the scale but you are extremely top heavy with forwards and wingers. Your defence would terrify me and Levitt appears to have been a flop. Newell not exactly pulling up trees either. Montgomery must have wanted a good solid centre mid and two good cntrehalves surely? I actually think you have a few decent players in there as well as some of the new guys having decent pedigree but the weaker areas of your team do not look any stronger after that transfer window. The new boys will need time to get up to speed and have hardly played many minutes yet, but that performance against St Mirren at home would be sowing some serious doubts in my mind. Who is it that identifies and signs your new players? Is it this Brian McDermott guy?

Decades  We got relegated less than ten years ago with Terry Butcher at the helm ffs

Are you confident that is not on the cards this season? Your current manager would not inspire any confidence for me. It is not just the manager though, everyone in the background appears to be completely incompetent when it comes to the football operation. Who is going to turn things around?

We're after around 2 million for Cochrane then he'd be free to leave it would seem. Not sure if that's now or in the summer but Penrice would be the replacement anyway, decent age with plenty premiership experience.

Wouldn't see much point getting Fraser in now because of Dhanda.

Don’t remember Fraser well enough; is he similar to Dhanda? Maybe we fancy both… genuine question as I do not know.

  8. I suppose the hope is that Dhanda will blossom in a better team than he is at currently. You can clearly see he is a really good player, but they rely on him for goal creation a lot. In our team you would have to think there would be less pressure on him to be the talisman. Situation reminds me a little of John O’Neil moving from St Johnstone to Hibs. Immediately found himself surrounded by better players and raised his game. Could probably say the same about Shankland at United, although obviously there was Beerschott in between. There will be other better examples that I can’t recall just now. Some also fail to make the step up of course. Dhanda having already been at West Brom as a wunderkind, and Liverpool’s age group teams, before playing with Swansea at a decent level hopefully counts for something in the yet to be fulfilled potential stakes.
