  1. Ha that's why I don't do the money SD! I just like to make nice looking things
  2. We played him predominantly as a winger... Which was because he was an excellent crosser. But by no means was he a winger but in general I liked him and think it was a missed opportunity that he didn't play up front more because his stint at Albion Rovers was clear that he had goals galore in him.
  3. Particularly liked the arithmetic that one boycotted visit from Hearts will cost us £100,000. By my maths £18 per adult ticket for 1800 = £32400 minus 20% for VAT = £25920 that's for all adults though. Assuming the demographic is 80% adults with 10% u16 and 10% over 65 = £23256 All in all a figure worth about 10% of their administrators fee. Imagine the seethe when the wee teams tell them they can't have an extended bench
  4. Shocked at how badly they took it to be honest. Bunch of rabid manchildren at that club.
  5. I think there's a lot still to do on the side of getting stadiums match ready. Training might be able to start back after the 25th but the logistics of having another team visit/what areas do they use/what areas do the officials use can't be underplayed. When teams go back, it's not going to be the same way we used to do everything, its a whole new system to learn.
  6. Nope but that was said to me last week. Don't think we have a solid date yet.
  7. https://alloaathleticfootball.club/ Again plugging the new website as the old one is down. Been adding to the archive... 2013/14. I wonder what would have happened had Paul Hartley not have had his head turned. The team was flying up until Christmas. It's on my list to add all the match reports. Only 2019/20 done so far but that's roughly the format they're going to be in. Player match data to get added too but we'll see how far I can get. It's unfortunate Kevin Cawley has such a long history to get all his matches in!
  8. On international weeks you could apparently, unless that loophole closed. I do remember iFollow getting blasted for exploiting that
  9. If restrictions come back and you find yourself a temp email account and a free account with a well known VPN. Noone will know the difference. Netflix puts considerable financial weight into finding and stopping known VPNs with limited success. The SPFL clubs while acknowledging this loophole rely only on goodwill that you'll follow the terms and conditions you agreed.
  10. Reading between the lines it's all appeasement at this point. It's obvious the government is going to come down hard on any more breaches and if that happens there will be plenty of clubs going under. If they say jump the SFA will say how high because that's the only way to stop that total distaster. On the Hearts situation, in the grander scheme of things I wouldn't care. We're in the middle of a pandemic still despite the good couple months we've had. You're going to need to be ready at any time to stop what you are doing and listen to instructions. Making a fuss about it is daft.
  11. Plays too much into the Hearts victim narrative if I do that though.
  12. Same, I'm glad we didn't end up in the Group G of death. I wonder if it's a first that the entire group is playing on astro.
  13. Going to embed the betfred cup stream in https://alloaathleticfootball.club/ if anyone wants to watch it on there. Near future the new website replaces the old one at alloaathletic.co.uk.
  14. We're just late for the party! Covid's just the kick up the backside to get it started. Being honest though we're getting in the infrastructure which we didn't have before. An actual fibre line. Pixellot's cool: there shouldn't be any blind spots - you'll hopefully have a predictable view of the pitch as a main match camera.
  15. @Mr XOn the centralised system - I'm not convinced. Plus I don't know how much it's costing! Originally I thought it was going to save me work; fantastic! But the more I've learned I'm not convinced it's the answer. We'll see. And I'm not banking on us staying in the league and being able to use it and pixellot in the future either. And with how much pixellot costs I'd happily stand outside in the cold all season! My question to you @Skyline Drifter is because I have the feeling most clubs will put the minimum effort in and like you say be happy to discourage fans from sitting on their couch. I'm in the opposite camp - there's nothing that substitutes being at a game and I think that's evidenced by the other leagues who don't operate a blackout. But the guy who has to look after the kids that week or someone who's working overtime or can't travel from Inverness; that gives them an avenue to see the game anyway when they wouldn't have been there. If you can offer that to your season ticket holders - I know there's plenty of folk who toss up buying one because they can't guarantee getting to all the games and actually getting any discount from the season ticket. I see it adding in that respect - if you sell the extra season tickets you make your money back comfortably.. As you can tell, this is a product I believe adds value to your club. But to be fair it's uncharted territory; I could just be living the pipe dream.
  16. Do you think there'll be clubs however that once they have say, average numbers of fans back, will stop all of the extras?
  17. That's the interesting bit of this. In lieu of a centralised system it seems to be down to the clubs to get this done. Build a scalable solution, have predictable workloads and you can make it profitable at whatever level you are at. That's the goal. I see the trend away from a strict blackout even without the extenuating influence of covid. If there was a time to invest in that future; it's now.
  18. So practically agreed then the rule lasts the season. Glad when we reach a consensus. And we will continue streaming anyway - like I said it'll just be marketed to a different audience, but practically, anyone will be able to take advantage.
  19. Yeah perhaps too forceful on the rule but still confident that unrestricted games will not happen. Even restrictions disappeared tomorrow, once I have the infrastructure I will be streaming anyway - it'll just be geoblocked. With all due respect to the terms and conditions saying don't use a VPN if Netflix isn't sophisticated enough to stop it what hope do our own club tv channels? It's very easy to use well known, reputable VPNs with free 500mb accounts. That runs out? use a temp email service to sign up again and rinse and repeat.
