£100m for Jack Grealish

Joe Hart is not (and never has been) good enough to be a world class goalkeeper. He's nowhere near the quality required to be an elite level player.
But, objectively, he's miles ahead of anyone else in this league other than Gordon and McGregor. Anyone outside of Rangers or Hearts fans who says they wouldn't swap their goalkeeper for him is at it.

Tommy Wright looks like he once wrote a moderately successful sitcom for a publicly owned television channel but now spends his time on Mumsnet obsessing over gender-neutral toilets.

Coming away from city life to the Highlands might be a good idea for him.
You've obviously not been to Inverness for a while, Frank. It's probably got a higher "belter per capita" ratio than Glasgow.
And that's before we include all the shire folk who descend on the city for a Friday and Saturday night out.

It’s not really fair on Charles-Cook to play out of position on his wrong side. Left back must be one of those positions, I’d suggest.
I feel sorry for Charles-Cook. He's never had an extended run in the team in his favoured position. Sporadic appearances here and there and most of them as a wing-back.

There's actually four certainties in life: death, taxes, Coll Donaldson giving away penalties, and RandomGuy foaming at the mouth when St Johnstone don't win.

Opening day of the league season and Sportsound aren't even bothering to give us a full 90 minutes of Open All Mics.
Oh well.

Not accepting Goodwin above McPake though. McPake was playing in the English Championship for a sizeable chunk of his career... Goodwin's only season at English Championship level was when his Scunthorpe side were papped straight back down to League One.
Goodwin has more appearances in the Championship according to Soccerbase

It's great that the team are in the position of needing to start Doll Conaldson and Kool Keith every week.

I hate them. Pain in the arse if you want to drop someone off on Academy Street, or cross the road pushing a wheelchair. And they're fucking ugly.
Which is why they need to expand them to be proper pavements. Same on Castle Street.

Inverness city center has had its traffic system altered to accommodate social distancing by extending the pavement out onto the roads and marking them with bollards. I have to take some photos of this, its nuts how much space is used.
It's been great. Much more space for pedestrians.

B Teams / Colts / Whatever have no place in the Challenge Cup and I'm delighted that the club have taken the moral high ground and withdrawn from the competition.

What's happening with Livorno? I saw they are bankrupt?
A real shame if that's the end of them. Lucarelli was a real cult hero for me in the mid-00s (a really basic Italian football opinion, I know).

On the other hand, there's nothing to suggest that he's going to be particularly good. His spell at Wigan was rubbish and he left Cardiff in 2013. Working "behind the scenes" and working as a first-team coach are two very different skillsets. Bringing in players from Man City and Southampton is obviously something that he brings to the table with his contacts; but if he's a hopeless manager then those contacts aren't worth a damn.
He won't be sacked this season though. We could be bottom on Hogmanay and he'll still be in a job. The club can't really afford to keep sacking managers and having no coherent medium-term plan. Plus MacGregor would lose too much face over it.

I have no idea how the "bubble" works for players but I suspect the club have identified signings and they've fallen through when they've realised that they'll be moving up to Inverness or Dingwall and maybe not guaranteed to see their family that often.
I think Hughes said he didn't go back down the road at all during his 5 or 6 months. And was that not Mullin's issue? That he wanted to be back with his family full-time?

Enjoying hearing and reading the revisionism of how England weren't even fancied for this tournament.
They were second favourites with most bookmakers and widely touted, alongside Belgium, as being the best of the rest behind France by a number of pundits and commentators.
Italy were 11/1 to win the tournament with some places.

Love to watch a player like that who looks like the ball is magnetically attracted to his feet. Loads of times I was convinced he’d lost the ball and it just kept following him.Declan Rice having two or three digs at him and Chiesa still wriggling away with the ball was sublime.

Chiesa, man
Looks like a man that could be in any Italian shirt from the 1950s onwards and not look out of place.
A real thrill to see him pick up the ball and run at defenders. One of the most exciting players to watch at the tournament.

No amount of "Yeah what about Scotland?????" can possibly detract from the very funny fact that England lost a major final at Wembley on penalties.
It's just good humour.

Southgate's Redemption went well.
A loser on penalties at Wembley in a semi-final and now a final.
