People bounce back! Dennis Hopper. Rolf Harris. Malky Mackay. There are others.

There's an argument that maybe, just maybe, he's changed and become a better person. Kick It Out and Show Racism The Red Card appear to be in his corner. However, he's not really shown any contrition for what happened. Not publicly at least. And there's the small matter of him pretty comprehensively covering almost all bases of bigotry: racism, homophobia, anti-Semitism, etc. It's not that he's a stupid wee boy who made a mistake; he's a grown man and there was slur after slur.
He walked into a job with Wigan. Then into a cushty SFA gig. He's hardly been hounded out of football. So I don't buy the "second chance" redemption sorry arc that the club will inevitably push.
Football is obviously very contradictory. Declan Gallagher gets jobs at Motherwell and Aberdeen despite caving someone's skull in with a baseball bat and not really showing any remorse. Luis Suarez still picks up hundreds of thousands a week despite being a known racist. That Leeds goalkeeper is still at Leeds. Jamie Vardy, of racism fame, continues to be one of the most celebrated strikers in England. There's a rogues' gallery of racists, sex offenders, thugs, and killers (okay, manslaughter-erers) who still pick up a wage from football.
But despite that above paragraph I'm just not comfortable with him being at County. The club don't see much money from me anyway but I won't be giving them any cash for the foreseeable future. They talk a good game about being a "community club" with "values" which makes this all the more baffling. I'm a bit scunnered by all this.
Finally, two other things that annoy me:
a) the timing of the leak - obviously trying to hope things die down by the time he is officially announced; it's cowardly
b) the speed of the appointment - it's obviously been planned for a while

Is Robertson not, essentially, still heavily involved in his new role? Or is the Sporting Director thing genuinely a step back from what happens on the pitch?
Regardless, ICT always seem to get lucky with appointments and players who look dreadful elsewhere (although I think Dodds was thought of highly at County).

Yeah the combat and the weapons took me a while to get used to. All of a sudden it just clicked though.
I think the combat is some of the most fun I've had in a game.

I wonder if Sergio Lobera fancies swapping Mumbai for Dingwall?

It's good. But is it "Steven Gerrard stopping 10 in a row good"?

Martin Boyle, man. He should be kicked up and down every park in the country next season.
p.s., murray davidson might be my favourite non-county (or ex-county) player in the league

Fair play to Shaun (Sean?) Rooney. I thought he looked like a mediocre Championship fullback a couple of years ago. But he's really pushed on since going to St Johnstone.
Hibs look rubbish. Slow. Ponderous. No creativity whatsoever. And Jackson Irvine playing out wide on the left most of the time. Jim McIntyre tried that for a couple of games and it didn't work. On paper they've got a really good team but it seems to be a case of give the ball to Boyle and hope for the best.

As a former steel worker in Lanarkshire - and going on day release in Bell College for an HNC in metallurgy - the process of deindustrialisation started LONG before Her Maggieship.
Obviously. It started in the 1950s. However it's pretty much accepted by serious economic historians that the Thatcher government's decision to appreciate the £ was something that contributed to moving the UK even further down the road of deindustrialisation.
No doubt you'll have some excellent comeback to this. Probably something about "natters" or maybe me being a Deliveroo rider or something.

Tony Mackay had been pretty consistent in this view on Scottish independence. He obviously doesn't support it but he's repeatedly said that it is viable but that there's risks. It's an objectively fair position to take.
Whilst I don't want to go up against the big hitting economic minds of Terry Underscore Tibbs or Stormzy, arguing that "well the currency will be weaker than the pound" isn't that much of a slam dunk. They obviously didn't read the rest of the article either - specifically the bit where he says "initially".
Anyway a strong currency isn't necessarily a good thing. Thatcher's policy of keeping the pound overvalued accelerated the deindustrialisation process.

There's not really an issue in renaming it the "April-02" variant.
Literally nobody should care unless you still get your kicks from calling it the "P*** shop".

@yoda you got any tips for understanding the menus in Horizon Zero Dawn?
It took me a few hours to get the grasp of them as they're a bit confusing to start with.
So, basically, in short. I've not really got any tips other than you eventually get used to them!
And I understand that this is not at all helpful.

The club have played this “We’re skint, give us cash Mr Savage!” routine what seems like pretty much every season for the last decade.
FTFY.

I don't like it but I'll have to go along with it.
He's done well and proved me wrong. I'll support him but part of me thinks we'll be looking for a new manager by Christmas.

Have Rangers banned any fans in the recent past for sectarianism?
I'm genuinely curious.

With Hamilton finally going down before a ball was kicked today, the results will work out well.
Killie will scud Dundee over 2 legs in the play-off and Ross County will be comfortably down next season.
Please bookmark.
How was that sweet, sweet, medicine?

From what I've seen of both teams, I reckon Killie will win (coupled with a Motherwell win) and stay up. Hideous GK's though
Do you reckon?

Suprised to read how much Stephen Kelly is getting it tight. He was superb for us, albeit in a league below

This is why Ayr United are rubbish. Such low expectations.

There's lots of players who need binned. And we couldn't be relying on a thirty-something Michael Gardyne to be starting every week. But that's just not how you deal with this situation. Parallels with McIntyre and Scott Boyd (albeit not identical).
