  1. A random thought, but does anyone know if wee Lewis Kenna and his family have been back since he was let go from his job? I still don't understand the reasoning for jettisoning him from what was an entirely voluntary position (other than Ebbo doesn't want him about which upon reflection, wouldn't be too surprising given the big mans behaviour), and it's quite surprising that he wasn't just offered another role literally anywhere else in the club, considering the situation.
  2. After having a wee think (read: I forgot Logan Dunachie existed) I'd probably go for the following tomorrow evening if I were McCall: - Kinnear - - Cuddihy - Hamilton - Dunachie - McGinn - - Ballantyne - Grant - - Rennie - Leitch - King - - Young - I am however, not Ian McCall, and the man likes a curveball so I'm expecting at least one bizarre inclusion. I thought McGinn looked good against Peterhead, so I'm not sure why he's being left out. It was the first time in a long time I've seen us play a full-back and thought 'ah, that's right, those are the things a full-back is supposed to do'. King looked *fine* because we're used to absolute muck or decent players playing out of position at full-back. Up top, I'd be tempted to go for Rennie as a 9 but he done very well on Saturday where he appeared to start out right and move around that attacking midfield three fairly fluidly. Connor Young is also a bit more of a centre forward than he is in terms of hassling defenders. Leitch should start too. He looked very good when he finally came on on Saturday. Again, I'm not sure why he isn't starting. We are more than capable of beating Forfar at home. A fairly long journey on a Tuesday night for the Forfar lads that aren't based centrally should hopefully add to things for us. A win puts us 5 behind both Forfar and Stranraer (although Stranraer have a game in hand). This Saturday coming we have a much more difficult game against Stenny but a win tomorrow takes us to the weekend on decent form as Stenny seem to be having a mild wobble, whilst Stranraer, Forfar and Elgin are all away to Dumbarton, East Fife and Peterhead respectively. After this weekend, we'll have a much clearer view of how things will pan out come the seasons end.
  3. Absolutely. Win on Tuesday and it’s down to 5 points between us and Forfar with even games. 5 points is much more palatable and this squad is certainly capable of overturning it. As per usual, lose and we’re goosed. Still think it’s absolutely wild that there are people doomsaying, acting like they’re Descartes or something. Clyde being relegated is the most obvious outcome considering we’ve only won three games this season. However, this squad is looking much better now. All is definitely not lost. I’d quite like to hear McCall’s reasoning for bringing on Cameron yesterday. It’s really sticking in my craw. I can (almost) understand King at left back for his distribution, but as soon as Kabia is down, you need to be bringing on McGinn and pushing King up. Failing that, Leitch for Kabia in a straight swap. Leslie was on the bench too. An absolutely bizarre decision to bring Cameron on and it immediately made our left side fragile. With any luck, McCall will have seen enough and we won’t see Cameron again. If Kabia and Howie are out, I think my line-up for Tuesday would be: - Kinnear - - Cuddihy - Hamilton - P. Grant - McGinn - - Ballantyne - R. Grant - - Scullion - Leitch - King - - Rennie -
  4. Cameron on instead of McGinn when King was clearly struggling at left back and needing moved up one was genuinely mind blowing. HOWEVER Thank f**k. Hamilton and Ballantyne were brilliant. Grant and Rennie looked good. Cuddihy at right back looked fine. Keeper didn’t have much to do but made a lovely save when he was called in to action. A few folk around me clocked Ballantyne celebrating a block and although I missed it, absolutely love that stuff. A bit of grit and fire. Imho a straight swap Young for Allan on Tuesday. Leitch from the start.
  5. FTFY. In all seriousness though, I think we are playoff-bound regardless of the upcoming results. We just need to take things one game at a time, cross our fingers that the clearly-fairly-talented new squad gel and build momentum for what will potentially be the most important games in the clubs history.
  6. If a tree falls in the woods, would you just take your boring patter back to the Thistle thread or do they just make fun of you there too?
  7. This isn't even remotely true. He's a month off of being 35 and hasn't played professional football in two years - absolutely mad to think that he could be dropped in to a relegation fight and make any sort of difference.
  8. I don't think anyone really wants this - there's just an odd wee minority of folk that bring it up because they don't like the way he was essentially chased out of the club/football in general. I'm sure they don't actually think he'd make a difference now. It still sticks in their craw and gets brought up as some daft point-scoring exercise - 'See what happens when you give in to the snowflakes?! We get RELEGATED!' etc. Either way, it's best not to pay attention. As a general rule if someone tries to bring up Goodwillie still being able to do a job, give them the JC treatment and mute them. Life is so much better when folk that just try and stir shit are ignored.
  9. I can be both, depending on how my massage goes the previous evening.
  10. All joking aside, a play off between Clyde and EK will be an interesting match-up. Obviously there's no guarantee that will happen and depends on the quality of HL side EK come up against. It looks like last night EK lined up with: - Connolly - - MacDonald - Ferguson - McDonald - Lockie - - McGrory - Spence - Arnott - - Balde - Robertson - Thomson - Although I'm sure EK fans on here will correct me in the event that I am (almost definitely) wrong. With the amount they burn through players though, there's no guarantee that this will be anywhere near the lineup that graces the playoffs, and they had very handy players such as Daramola, Flanagan and Stirling coming on from the bench last night. On paper and with the exception of a couple of individuals, that EK team isn't any better than Clyde's. Imho our best starting lineup at the moment is something like: - Kinnear - - Cuddihy - Howie - Hamilton - McGinn - - Grant - Ballantyne - - Kabia - - Leitch - - King - - Allan - We obviously have a better and more experienced manager and staff, so if we manage to build a bit of momentum, I don't think the result is as cut and dried as things may look from the outside. Saying that, there's obviously a huge chance EK just turn us the f**k over.
  11. MK, what a gaffer. Never mind that all the goals were scored by players signed for fees from teams two and three leagues above! Don't think about that!
  12. I'd imagine last week probably came too son for Brian Kinnear. With that in mind, I think McCall should go with: - Kinnear - - Cuddihy - Howie - Hamilton - McGinn - - Scullion - Grant - Ballantyne - King - - Allan - Young - Gives us very handy options in the likes of Kabia and Leitch off the bench. After last weeks starting line up, it's up in the air isn't it. I'm ever the optimist though, so I think this week could finally be the week things really gel and we kick on. tl;dr: I think we're going to open Dumbarton the f**k up baby!
  13. This type of comment is so weird. Not even an attempt at humour. Tinged with melancholy from the author, like they know they don't have anything to add but feel the need to say something regardless to appear relevant. Must try harder, 1/10.
  14. Jesus man (Ebbo), give it up, you look like a total w****r but if you stop now, you can limit the damage. Don't become like JC, the Kanye West of Pie and Bovril. You don't recall it because I didn't Ebbo, no one did. The kitman (you) has shown a pattern of embarrassing behaviour, essentially bringing the club into disrepute at an extremely challenging time. He (you) may have been here before McCall, and may even remain after he's gone, but if the club had any sense (hmmm) they'd cut ties with him (you, because you are Ebbo) right now. Any scuddy can wash the kits.
  15. Honestly does my box in when folk see that on Saturday and try and support/justify it. Clyde are a joke and have been for a long time. The literal last thing needed now is that stupid big arsehole causing it at full time, making the club look worse. To have so little self awareness at this point is absolutely wild. We’ve finally got a good manager in, good coaches and a decent squad to try and make the best of the situation, and this Ebbo dipshit goes tonto Unbelievable. Boys a big wet blanket. If you’re McCall, you’re surely having a sit down with him and keeping him away from the park if you can’t sack him for whatever reason. He should be gotten rid of though. It’s not his job, he can be dispensed and someone would 100% volunteer to do it until the end of the season and do a stand up job.
  16. Luckily for me, I was away for a wee long weekend break there so never actually made it to the game. Unfortunately with that result it looks like we're going to be finishing bottom, no matter what results we manage to string together. To be fair, it's been coming. We've been a complete shell of a club for a long time. Bringing in Ian McCall and this batch of players at this time almost seems like a joke on us now. Leaving it until it's basically too late to put a good squad together. Anyway, the rest of this season has to be about building momentum for the play offs, especially with the teams around us picking up precious points recently. If we play either EK or Brechin/Bo'D/Buckie out of form we'll be ripped to shreds. Hopefully over the next few weeks the players start to gel and we can really get things moving.
  17. This guy man. The term 'Oaf' has never suited someone more. I'm all for a bit of noising up opposition fans but doing it after you've been beat and look like you're on the verge of tears is just pathetic.
  18. Hahaha my word, what a wee weirdo. Imagine being *this* rattled by a club that you don't even support. Some folk man, couldn't write it.
  19. It’s very funny indeed that JC was brought up on this weeks Terrace podcast, with both Fraser and Shaughan laughing about how much of a loser he is whilst saying even they’ve muted him. It’s much nicer here when he’s ignored and we can just laugh at how much of a diddy he is.
  20. Aye, I understand - apologies. I just meant there seems to be a sense amongst certain factions of the Clyde support that moving to the East End will result in us getting hundreds more through the gates every week, when youre right - being nomadic has killed that. The damage has already been done in that sense.
  21. All ties in with the teams performance on the park. Bigger games in higher divisions attract more fans. If we end up in the Lowland League we could be in Glasgow right on some fans doorsteps and they still wouldn't bother their arses to come. Absolutely crazy to think at this point that a G45 postcode will automatically unlock more fans.
  22. With the signing of Brian Kinnear today I’d imagine we’re going to line up something like: - Kinnear - - Cuddihy - Howie - Hamilton - McGinn - - Grant - Scullion - - King - - Leitch - - Kabia - - Allan -
  23. He actually never moved on to Ayr, but he played in both legs of the cup tie against them. He also played one league game then disappeared from football. A quick look at our news archive on the website says that Jim Chapman offered him a deal that summer, but he left the club for opportunities elsewhere.
