  1. Noticed Syvertsen and Hopkirk haven't been involved for a while - are they injured or just out of favour? Always liked big Norway at Clyde but he just couldn't get himself a run of games, which was rubbish because he's obviously a talented laddie.
  2. 21st of January and absolutely zero sign of any bodies arriving. Pathetic and infuriating, especially when it's so obvious what we need.
  3. I'd heard we were going for Moffat, with his age and him having had a taste of first team football you'd think he'd want to get out and play in the SPFL but who knows. Even if he does come, we're still crying out for a couple of established players, as we always are.
  4. There’s clearly some kind of ‘tactic’ re: the signings. Any dafty could look at the players available and identify that the likes of Joe McKee, Russell MacLean, Morgyn Neill etc would improve the team and move to sign them. We’re based centrally, have a generally well regarded manager and are reasonably placed in L1 - all attractive propositions for players. Yet we’re signing players like Owen Andrew, Rob Jones and Billy Mortimer. As has been said, DL signed McStay, Grant, Rankin, Banks etc so he is clearly able to identify what’s required to improve the squad. There’s a disconnect there, something we’re not seeing, and it stinks. One player I think we should attempt to sign is Alan Trouten - he would be perfect to sit in at 10 and link Goodie and the midfield. We desperately need some kind of creativity to transition midfield play into attack, and if that’s not touched upon in January then something is really wrong. I don’t mean some joey from Rangers B, we need an established SPFL player.
  5. One thing worth noting is this seasons trialists are named on the Statistics section of the OS. So we've had Ryan Blair, Andrew Osei-Bunsu and the baldy laddie that made an appearance was called Michael Brunton, who my pal says plays with Bellshill Athletic. Thankfully none have been signed up, but going by the level our other signings this season have come from it plays that if anyone comes in, it will be from a level well below L1. The absolute pits.
  6. Yeah it's absolutely wild that the quality in the squad has went backwards AFTER we hired a salaried recruitment team. I can't remember the last time we brought in a player that garnered any excitement amongst the fans. Other than Neil Parry, I think literally every signing in the past two years has been met with a collective groan.
  7. Yeah, I've tried to fathom the maths but it genuinely doesn't seem worthwhile for any party involved in the situation. There does seem to have been a big change in attitude from Falkirk fans re: DGW signing, which is extremely interesting.
  8. Reynolds only played 10 league games for Sheffield Wednesday, all of which came in League 1. I'd heard he was going to Cove. Anyway, besides the point. You've offered Goodwillie a 2.5 year deal?!?!?!
  9. Seems like a fair few laddies are leaving East Kilbride
  10. Totally agree with this. As much as DGW has done an amazing job, we’re the most one-star-and-ten-c*nts team you ever did see. Aside from him we have absolutely nothing. You can see it even when he’s on the park but not in the mood, we have no one else that can conjure anything. That starting line-up today was scary and I can’t help but think we’re in a false position. We really need an upgrade in every position except in goals and maybe left back (Adam Livingstone is fine).
  11. It’s either that or the Lowland League for us, transfer-wise
  12. In a sense, there are some parallels in Falkirks current position and the one Clyde were in when we signed Goodwillie. If we hadn’t signed him, we would have been relegated from L2 and into LL obscurity. Falkirk are obviously only considering signing him as a hail mary to get them out of L1 and prevent a move into being a hybrid and potentially another several years in L1 and financial oblivion as a result. However, would it not actually be beneficial for Falkirk to have become a hybrid club before now? Imagine even Falkirks standing now in terms of the size of the club and central location would attract the best part time players in Scotland, rather than having to scramble for some of the worst full time players.
  13. Can I just say, the weird rape apology guys don’t speak for all of us. Sorry.
  14. This is a very weird comment. He’s currently learning his trade as an apprentice and doing 1 on 1 coaching. It’s all fairly common knowledge. He’s literally from Stirling and still lives and works around that area, so can’t really hide it. As far as money goes, he was declared bankrupt in 2019. You couldn’t blame him for wanting a shot at a higher level but would it really be worth the hassle for him? He’s currently the biggest fish we’ve ever had in our very small pond and things have (mostly) died down re: the furore. From a purely selfish (from him) pov, would he put himself and his family through it again? Would his wife or work be happy with all the media clamour against him being dredged up again? I doubt it. I could be wrong, but I think the only way he leaves Clyde is by dropping out of the SPFL and signing with a Darvel, for instance.
  15. Always thought he was a decent player, shame to see he hasn’t worked out with you lot, especially after his stint at Morton didn’t go well. Always wanted to see him at Clyde but for obvious reasons it will likely never happen.
  16. Ryan Blair has signed for East Fife from East Kilbride. Played briefly as a trialist for Clyde earlier in the season but didn’t sign, presumably because we don’t have “East” in our name.
  17. TheBigGuy is one P&B post away from saying “wearing a mask is like keeping a fart in your pants” or whatever it was Piers Corbyn said that made me cringe into oblivion
  18. F*ck me, of course the guy that hates the vaccine but can’t explain why pipes up again
  19. F*ck me man you still here?! Have a break, it’s Christmas!
  20. It would be a bit of a bizarre move considering Raith are pushing for the playoffs, Goodwillie has a career outside of football now and Raith aren’t operating on the “hybrid” model anymore (as far as I know). Plus he really does have an affinity for the club, so he wouldn’t blitz us. However, stranger things. Always makes me nervous.
