  1. Obviously things aren't going to well for Stenny at the moment, but it's good to see David Wilson in the team and even better to see that he saved two penalties on Saturday. I thought he looked very good at Clyde and fair play to him for wanting to get first team football and it seems that he's now getting what he wanted. Somewhat ironically I read the news of his penalty saves just after watching the highlights of the Clyde vs QP game where big Parry let a Longridge shot from about 30 yards which was travelling at approx. 3 kph trickle past him. Just a bump in the road for Parry but did laugh.
  2. Didn’t know this was happening at all. Who are Evro? Do we know the scorers?
  3. Realistically, no one else in the SPFL will want to sign him due to the ongoing stigma, which is obviously fair. It would basically dredge up everything again, and would that be worth it for A) a 30 odd year old man with a wife, young child and a fledgling career or B) Literally any club? The answer is no. If he leaves Clyde, realistically it would be to the juniors/WoSL to a team like Darvel which whilst that isn't out the question, he doesn't strike me as the type to want to drop down to levels below his absolute maximum which (at the moment) is a team in L1.
  4. I couldn’t believe we finished the game with Goodwillie, Tade, Jones, Cunningham and Owen Andrew playing, I was admittedly cursing DL out for that. I think we played well after the subs, but how much of that was luck as opposed to Danny’s mental tactics actually working remains to be seen. I thought Rob Jones was really poor today. For a big guy, he’s so passive when the balls in the air. I don’t think he challenged for one header. Going by his cameo, Tade will be a much better option going forward. Parry was less than convincing too but we all know he’s a class goalie, so I imagine he just needs to get back into the rhythm of playing games. Queen’s Park at times looked a superb outfit, but I’d be very frustrated at their lack of cutting edge up top if I were a fan though. Mikey Doyle is a great skipper and Wullie Muir is a brilliant keeper. When you can call on loan players from Liverpool, Celtic and Hearts off the bench you really should be polishing every other team in this league off.
  5. Sounds about right for Clyde at the moment, should be a laugh if anything.
  6. Whit? Sorry, worked in Falkirk for several years and people referred to the geographical location on TFS as 'The Bog', so how about you f**k off you rude little dweeb.
  7. That's Clyde signed Euan Devaney on loan, with him having spent time on loan playing at The Bog last season - Falkirk fans got any opinions? According to wikipedia he only made four appearances so can't imagine he was much whack.
  8. Clyde have signed Euan Devaney on loan from Kilmarnock, straight into the squad for tomorrow.
  9. He certainly thinks he's dished out some patter here. Going to be clinging on to QP fans being generally daft this whole week because their team is probably going to vivisect mine come Saturday. Expecting a thoroughly unenjoyable 90 mins watching Simon f*cking Murray run rings round a Clyde defence (again).
  10. Always thought he was a decent defender at this level, would be a shame if he jacks it completely. Hopefully he gets what he needs from his time away and we see him back soon.
  11. Out of interest, has anyone received any training gear/jerseys ordered from RJM?
  12. A loan player returning to his parent club isn't exactly what I was thinking, no Yeah good shout that! Wouldn't have counted Imrie, falls into the same bracket as MacDonald to Hamilton and Lang to Dunfermline for me
  13. Absolutely made up for Mitch and his folks. Great guy moving to a huge club. Can't remember the last time one of our players got a move to the Premier League.
  14. It's better that he takes every precaution and isolates before joining the squad, if you're implying that he should not have been isolating.
  15. It was. Have googled and it was definitely him. Decent pedigree with Swansea etc. but just hasn’t been at it recently.
  16. Anyone recognise our CM trialist? There’s another laddie been warming up too recently but not stripped. Quite a laugh seeing whoever our current GK coach is sitting on the bench with no. 1 on his shorts too.
  17. This looks potentially like a 5-4-1 to protect the keeper.
  18. Clyde definitely need a centre half, but I can't see it happening given we've signed three already this summer. Big Elsdon has looked fine in the couple of games he's played and Balatoni will probably be alright, but Page is still in a moonboot and Rumsby as much as I love him definitely doesn't have enough about him for League 1. For me, we desperately need another striker, because Rob Jones and Gregory Tade aren't boys you'd want if Goodwillie is injured. I also think it's glaringly obvious that we need a more attack-minded centre midfielder to link play. Splaine, Cuddihy Kennedy and Gomis aren't that type of player. Love looked ok in the 10 in pre-season but you maybe wouldn't rely on that, same with Cunningham. Goodwillie dropping in also doesn't work given the fact that it'd be Rob Jones up there. A lot of issues to be addressed really, you'd think with the fact that we have a salaried recruitment team these would be identified and tackled by the club, but the club is a pathetic shambles at the moment.
  19. Had it with this “recruitment department” pish btw
  20. Got to say, I was fairly impressed by big Elsdon. Nothing stupid, just done the basics really well. Hopefully that wasn’t a one off performance. It was mentioned in here that he’s only 5’11” which if true is wild, looks enormous!
  21. 100%. If we wanted a big striker to offer something different, the recruitment team should have identified Russell MacLean as the one. He's based in Falkirk and was available for transfer so you'd think a perfect situation to get him in, but he went to Peterhead. The reasons he went there wont ONLY be financial although that will have been a big part, but it's the recruitment teams job to actively recruit, and convince players like that that Clyde are a club worth joining. Danny still wanted to try the Plan B, and has signed Robert Jones because he's big and probably cheap instead of someone who could actually do the job. He's winged it and we've been stung. Russell MacLean scored four more goals last season that Robert Jones has scored in his entire professional career until he joined Clyde. Because of rubbish recruitment we've been left with a player who will be largely ineffective because Danny had a whim that he wanted to try something different. Admittedly as outlined above, he's done a few bits warranting a stay of execution but going by last night and the first half of the Dumbarton game the experiment is not paying off.
