Heading to Italy on holiday at the end of August for a couple of weeks. Rome, Florence, Lake Como and Milan. Hopefully I will get to take in a couple of games.

Given the choice I would like to see Roma, Fiorentina and/or AC Milan. It is still a few weeks before the fixtures are out though, but I should certainly be okay for games in Rome and Milan.

The problem with Roma or Lazio is that the Olimpico is too big for the support.  I went to a Lazio game in 2008 when I was in Italy and although there were close to 30,000 people there it seemed overly cavernous.  The Lazio ultras made a good atmosphere though

I'm claiming responsibility for the draw. Fury were 2-1 down in extra time and Paul Dalglish wouldn't put the 'keeper up for the last corner.

From my seat on the halfway line right near the dugout I shouted: "PAUL! Put the keeper up!"

He folds his arms. The goalie starts looking toward him.

"Do it Paul! Be brave, make the call, put him up."

He changed his mind and sent the goalie up, the guy made a nuisance of himself in the box and Ottawa scored an equaliser!

    Greetings from Canada guys :-)

P.S. Ryan Williams is playing for Fury, he's one of their best players

Welcome to Ottawa!  How long are you in our capital for?

Also naming the brand of fridge freezer is a bit shitty IMO, something that seems to be not spoken too much about is that the fire service visited the property and dealt with the issue with the fridge & it was contained within the property ( they thought) but upon leaving the building they noticed the outside was ablaze - the FF had been situated next to an open window- and rushed back in to start the evacuation.

Agreed, especially considering that there was no recall or known defect with that brand or model.

Chairman Dave King says that given the position Rangers have been in during the past few years, Celtic should be even further ahead of the Ibrox club than they currently are. (Scottish Sun)

So not much of a gap between the 2 clubs then?

    Wtf has he been smoking?

If Celtic should have been farther ahead then is he admitting that his players were more shite than first thought?  If the gap should have been bigger then why did he sack Warbo, he must have been doing something right.  Without awarding 4 points for a win the only way the gap would be bigger is if Sevco won fewer games.

BBC reporting that both the cladding & insulation have failed the police enquiry safety tests, talk of possible manslaughter charges.
Quite why they are leading with that particular headline when the most scandalous information is contained within the article, I've no idea.

100% agree about the headline, the fridge is by no means the important item in the story, it's the cladding.

  6. I don't normally take trains (as ours are mostly shite here in Canada) but was recently in Paris and took the RER from CDG airport into town.  Guy sitting behind me had the most noxious cologne/aftershave on it stunk up the whole area.  It must have been sex panther or something but it was making me gag.

Sorry, but the Mexican league is shyte, and most of their best players play in european leagues.

Even though I am also a Celtic fan, I have to respectfully disagree here, having watched some of the Mexican sides and the league I have to say that it's decently strong.  In terms of quality it's probably similar in quality to the Dutch or Belgian leagues.

Amazingly went 120 league games undefeated with my Dortmund team, never been on a run like it. Won the German cup 5/6 times in a row as well, so probs over 150 games undefeated domestically.

Just had my 1st loss there, a 0-3 defeat to Wolfsburg and I've taken the huff and rage quit. Glory hunter.

I've never had an unbeaten season, but I came close with Celtic in season 2024-25.  Was unbeaten domestically but with 3 games to go my team shat the bed in an away game at Falkirk, lost 2-1 despite having like 5 times more shots and 61% possession.  Made up for it in the next game by stuffing Sevco 6-0 and then won the Scottish cup by beating Aberdeen 7-0 in the final lol, including 4 goals from Oliver Burke.

2E is an absolute shambles even when it's quiet!

One thing that irks me is that it doesn't have to be that way!  It wouldn't even require a dramatic redesign to sort out the exit customs clusterfuck, but I guess that would require the French border police to care about humans

CDG in Paris is the worst airport ive experienced. Hated every second of it.

I just got back from my adventures in Europe and I have to agree.  Was flying Air France so departed from Terminal 2E and holy disorganized shitemare batman that place is an absolute mess.  It took over 2 hours from the time we got to the terminal to the time we cleared security, most of that waiting in the exit customs line that is a ginormous bottleneck.  They need either 3x the number of exit customs booths or to split the customs up by boarding hall as it's a complete mess.  We had arrived 4 hours before our flight so had plenty of time but there were other people in the exit customs line who were missing their flights.  Also the check-in/baggage drop area is too narrow so there were all sorts of disorganized lines everywhere and people didn't know where they needed to be.

Oh and once you clear security there are very few bars!  After 2 hours and 15 minutes of queuing I needed a beer and took me a while to find a bar in Hall L!  At Montreal airport there is a bar every 100 yards but CDG 2E hall L has essentially 1 bar and tons of shopping (which I couldn't be bothered with).

  11. I'm currently in France with my Dad, we are trying to retrace my Grandad's path from when he was here during the war. He was an Ambulance driver/mechanic and had landed in Normandy a few weeks after D-Day. Spent yesterday north of Caen after driving down from Paris, first went to Juno Beach and then poking around the back roads looking for a few places on the map. Found a small village north of Caen where my Grandad would have been camped in 1944, I'm pretty sure we saw the exact field. Today putzed around south of Caen to Falaise, which is a really pretty town. If you are this way I would suggest staying at a really nice B & B called la vielle ferme just a few miles south of Falaise. Normandy is a great part of the world to drive around and explore by car. Off tomorrow towards Rouen and then later on Areas before heading to Belgium and the Netherlands

Ex rangers player and fan doesn't like Celtic dominating and tells us the whole of Scotland want and need rangers to be competing.

It's almost like they have a template article written and they just move down their list of Rangers minded men and give them a call:

'Here we've written this article, can we put your name to the quotes?'

That's what I was thinking as well, there are 2 stock headlines that seem to never go away

    1. (Insert Rangers related person) says Celtic domination bad for Scottish football

    2. (Insert Rangers related person) says Rangers need to invest heavily to catch Celtic

    Hmm really?

First of all, Rangers have zero credit facilities because they are so badly run they can't be trusted to pay anything back. So your boards attempt to tell you that they won't build on substantial debt is because it's not possible.

Secondly, Rangers have substantial debt to their Directors who are providing constant loans to keep the doors open.

Do you think these guys will just keep putting their own money in without ever expecting anything back?

Rangers are a bloke who declared bankruptcy 5 years ago and no bank will give them a credit card, therefore money needs to come from somewhere so either Dodgy Dave pumps money in (which he can only do to a point without busting UEFA's FFP rules) or they are borrowing from dodgy backroom banks at high interest rates.  Either way they are pressing the button marked "big risk" that Dave Murray was so fond of and ended up sending his club into the toilet
