Indy 500 practice started today, the man all eyes are on, Fernando Alonso, put in a fastest lap above 223 MPH with his teammate Marco Andretti logging the fastest of the day at over 226 MPH but that was with a pretty strong tow. 2013 Indy 500 winner Tony Kanaan had the fastest "no tow" speed at a hair over 223.5 MPH. Only incident of the day was British rookie Jack Harvey who had a steering problem on his out lap slapping the wall in turn 2. Indy, being different from all other races, has a full week of practice before 2 days of qualifying, followed by yet another practice day, then a week of media work followed by 1 hour on the Friday before the race and then race day. My mate and I are leaving Ottawa bright and early next Wednesday morning to drive down to Indy, it's a mere 13-14 hours and 900 miles to drive! It's a long day but not too bad with 2 drivers, plus the beer tastes extra nice once we get to Indianapolis. I'll post some pictures from my adventures down there!

Let's just hope he ends up somewhere where they play him every week.

If the Young Boys rumours are true then it could be a very good move for him. The Swiss league is decently strong but not so strong that a guy at his level wouldn't get a game in. Plus it would give him the opportunity to play European Football

Rherras away - not a tremendous player, but probably our best option at left back -hopefully, the first of a few departures.

Nikolay Todorov has signed a new one-year deal at Hearts - big chunk of a laddie - did quite well at Livi, I think.

I forgot about Rherras, Hearts seem to have gone down the "quantity over quality" route with signings that so many Scottish clubs seem to do (Celtic included, hence why we had Carlton Cole and Colin Kazim-Richards) so a clear out of the mediocre guys is probably in order.

Sporting are willing to "cut their losses" and sell Gauld for the fee they paid United. Real shame for the boy, just hasn't worked out.
That will probably mean he'll end up in the English Championship, hopefully he will end up playing more regularly

Great news on Berra if it turns out to be true. Now we just need to sign 7 other players who aren't total dug piss and we might actually have a team for next season.
Berra would be a good addition for Hearts, a CB pairing of him and John Souttar (who was Hearts best CB before getting hurt IMHO) would be a solid partnership. Certainly better than the revolving door of below average guys that have played in the second half of the season.

Would be surprised if he's still playing football when he's 25. He's striker who will be 22 this year and who has played 20 senior games and scored 0 goals. Compare that to another Scottish striker of the same age, Jason Cummings, who has 114 senior games and has scored 55 goals.
Islam Feruz has absolutely no chance of ever getting a senior cap for Scotland.
It's such a shame that his career appears to have burnt itself out at such a young age. Thus are the potential pitfalls of building a kid up at such a young age, let's hope Billy Gilmour's career progression doesn't suffer a similar fate at Chelsea

I don't follow French football too closely but I have a bit of a soft spot for Marseille. Partially because I really loved the food in Marseille when I visited! I sometimes cheer for football teams with my stomach!

Lots of rumours today that we're signing David Gray. Not sure a 3rd choice right back is what we need, but he'd be a solid back up to Struna and Smith, I suppose.
What's the situation with Callum Paterson? I know he's going to be out until sometime next autumn but it seems silly that Hearts wouldn't offer him a new deal regardless? When fit he's a solid RB so would be silly to let him go for nothing IMHO.

People pay over £1000 a year of their hard earned cash for that amateur nonsense. What a joke.
Sky have developed this idea that incompetence can be charming. It's why Chris Kamara missing a red card because he wasn't paying attention is such a famous clip.

Not many people will have an issue with that tbh.
I object!!
We had sorta been hoping we could go the entire 4 years without him noticing we exist but he seems to have found us. As for the dairy thing, our dairy exports to the US are so miniscule that any sort of tariff would have pretty much no impact on dairy suppliers. Even Wisconsin dairy farmers are saying that the problem is over-production not our milk.
Oh, and he also slapped a tariff on our softwood lumber exports, which has been a long running dispute for the last couple of decades.

According to the latest contestant (Willie Henderson) in "The Ibrox Legend calls for investment" they will need 50 mil to compete

The Daily Record with an over the top clickbaity headline that doesn't actually reflect what was said?
Shocking, positively shocking

If Scotland doesn't want to be fully independent, and doesn't want to be part of the UK then there is apparently a third solution, at least according to this guy! The Solution is to join Canada!
You would get more power and influence over national affairs than you do now, plus access to tariff-free maple syrup!

So it appears as though Trump has gone into full "America, f**k Yeah!" mode with this MOAB strike.
Has anyone told him that "Team America: World Police" isn't a documentary?

I was planning a road trip from Toronto to Montreal last year but it fell through. Really fancied going to a game in LNAH. Planned to go to games at every level. Ended up going to see my DEL team instead and absolutely loving it in Mannheim
One of the best times I ever had at a hockey game was at a DEL game in 2008. It was a playoff game in Cologne between Kolner Haie and Adler Mannheim. They remove the seats in the ends of the lower bowl to create terracing and I was in that standing section, the atmosphere was excellent with everyone jumping up and down singing. I don't speak much German but it was still a blast.

I'm a Celtic fan and I'm perplexed by the claim of an all Old Firm media outlet being completely different. I watched their video and am also confused by their claim of not doing match reports and only writing about stuff that people really want to read about. Maybe I'm a bit old fashioned but as a football fan I quite like reading reports of football matches.
