  1. Even though I am also a Celtic fan, I have to respectfully disagree here, having watched some of the Mexican sides and the league I have to say that it's decently strong. In terms of quality it's probably similar in quality to the Dutch or Belgian leagues.
  2. I've never had an unbeaten season, but I came close with Celtic in season 2024-25. Was unbeaten domestically but with 3 games to go my team shat the bed in an away game at Falkirk, lost 2-1 despite having like 5 times more shots and 61% possession. Made up for it in the next game by stuffing Sevco 6-0 and then won the Scottish cup by beating Aberdeen 7-0 in the final lol, including 4 goals from Oliver Burke.
  3. One thing that irks me is that it doesn't have to be that way! It wouldn't even require a dramatic redesign to sort out the exit customs clusterfuck, but I guess that would require the French border police to care about humans
  4. I just got back from my adventures in Europe and I have to agree. Was flying Air France so departed from Terminal 2E and holy disorganized shitemare batman that place is an absolute mess. It took over 2 hours from the time we got to the terminal to the time we cleared security, most of that waiting in the exit customs line that is a ginormous bottleneck. They need either 3x the number of exit customs booths or to split the customs up by boarding hall as it's a complete mess. We had arrived 4 hours before our flight so had plenty of time but there were other people in the exit customs line who were missing their flights. Also the check-in/baggage drop area is too narrow so there were all sorts of disorganized lines everywhere and people didn't know where they needed to be. Oh and once you clear security there are very few bars! After 2 hours and 15 minutes of queuing I needed a beer and took me a while to find a bar in Hall L! At Montreal airport there is a bar every 100 yards but CDG 2E hall L has essentially 1 bar and tons of shopping (which I couldn't be bothered with).
  5. One observation from a Canadian reading this is how the f**k could a building like this be allowed to have ONE escape route?? That to me is completely bonkers and would never, never, never fly over here. Every block of flats needs a minimum of two staircases
  6. Now the rumour is that Aberdeen want Christie on loan for 1 year, GMS, and cash for Hayes. I think they are now just taking the pish to buy some time to get a new manager in.
  7. I'm currently in France with my Dad, we are trying to retrace my Grandad's path from when he was here during the war. He was an Ambulance driver/mechanic and had landed in Normandy a few weeks after D-Day. Spent yesterday north of Caen after driving down from Paris, first went to Juno Beach and then poking around the back roads looking for a few places on the map. Found a small village north of Caen where my Grandad would have been camped in 1944, I'm pretty sure we saw the exact field. Today putzed around south of Caen to Falaise, which is a really pretty town. If you are this way I would suggest staying at a really nice B & B called la vielle ferme just a few miles south of Falaise. Normandy is a great part of the world to drive around and explore by car. Off tomorrow towards Rouen and then later on Areas before heading to Belgium and the Netherlands
  8. That's what I was thinking as well, there are 2 stock headlines that seem to never go away 1. (Insert Rangers related person) says Celtic domination bad for Scottish football 2. (Insert Rangers related person) says Rangers need to invest heavily to catch Celtic
  9. Rangers are a bloke who declared bankruptcy 5 years ago and no bank will give them a credit card, therefore money needs to come from somewhere so either Dodgy Dave pumps money in (which he can only do to a point without busting UEFA's FFP rules) or they are borrowing from dodgy backroom banks at high interest rates. Either way they are pressing the button marked "big risk" that Dave Murray was so fond of and ended up sending his club into the toilet
  10. Bigirimana should be a solid signing for Motherwell. He's still young and has a good amount of experience (weird Mike Ashley related spell at Sevco notwithstanding). Plus judging by how angry Coventry fans are he must be decent.
  11. He would be second best of your forwards mostly because Hearts have a lack of depth up front. Your second best striker (of the 6 listed on Wiki) is Bjorn Johnsen so I would rate Garner slightly above Johnsen but a long way behind Goncalves. Either way Garner is my gold standard for shite forwards, at least this Stockton lad isn't costing you anything so if he doesn't score a single goal then he will be better value for money than Garner.
  12. Eh? Are we talking about the Joe Garner who plays for Sevco and scored 10 goals in 34 games, most of those against an absolutely horrible Hamilton team? The same Joe Garner who scored dick all at any level above English League One? The same Joe Garner who is a nutter and should have been sent off on multiple occasions? Looking at your squad I would say that Garner would maybe be your second best striker (after Goncalves) and there are a number of other players I rate more highly than him. I'm not just saying this as a Celtic fan, I genuinely think Garner is pish regardless of who he plays for.
  13. Isn't this on Craig Levein? Either way, the most generous term I can use for his career numbers so far is underwhelming. He's scored 29 goals in 145 league appearances in English League Two and Conference, which isn't exactly stellar. I hope for Hearts fans he turns into a Louis Moult type, but I predict he will end up being more like a shit Joe Garner
  14. As a Celtic fan I hope all of these Jonny Hayes to Celtic rumours aren't true. He's a very good player but not as good as Sinclair and maybe a tad better than Forrest, but he's 29! Would much rather see Christie get a proper chance to impress Brendan and bring in a younger replacement for Roberts.
  15. As a short guy I have long since given up thinking about this sort of thing, my Missus is slightly taller than me (I'm 5'5", she's 5'7") , if I only looked for shorter women I wouldn't get many dates! When I was younger (and more self conscious) it used to really get me down when I heard a girl say she was only interested in taller guys but at some point I gave up feeling sorry for myself. Oh, and being short means that all the problems you tall people have with modern cattle class air travel aren't a problem for me!
  16. And he's not even the worst CB on their books. Both Senderos and Kiernan are much worse IMHO
  17. I don't see why signing yet another expensive over the hill player like Alves makes sense. Were the likes of Barton, Senderos, and Krancjaer not enough of a warning?
  18. Got back last night, have to say I had an absolute blast once again. Some of the local watering holes we frequent are starting to remember us as "those two Canadian guys", not sure if that's a good thing or not. Great race (which is becoming a regular saying for the 500) once again, our section in the turn 1 area (SW Vista) went crazy when Sato won, pretty much everyone was happy for him because he's known to be a really nice guy and a hard charging driver. Helio's reaction at the end just shows how much this race means to people, until you are actually there in person you can never truly appreciate how big, and how important this race is. Oh and Sato's pass with 22 laps to go (3 wide on the outside) on Helio and Ed Jones going into turn 1 was amazing.
  19. Not overly confident about Hinch to be honest, but he's good around here so should do well. I'm thinking Dixon will win this year, he has looked so smooth in practice.
  20. It's about 250K grandstand seats however there is a lot of general admission space, last year was the 100th running and the estimate was somewhere in the 350,000 range so this year it may be closer to 300k
  21. On the road to Indianapolis for the 500, approaching Cleveland 7.5 hours driven, another 6 ish to go
  22. Berra is a solid signing for Hearts, a central defensive partner of Berra and a healthy John Souttar should be solid. It's also a pretty damning admission by Cathro and Levein that their January signings were mostly shite.
  23. Although I echo the sentiments that he stayed in the Bond role a couple of films too long (he was really awkwardly too old for Bond in "A view to a kill") he was still charming in the earlier roles, added a bit of comedic timing to Bond that was sometimes lacking in the Connery films. RIP
  24. Ugh, just as the excitement of Indy is building, the racing world brings you down a peg. 2006 Motorcycle world champion Nicky Hayden has died after being hit by a car while cycling in Italy last week. RIP Nicky Hayden 1981-2017 http://www.racer.com/international/moto-gp/item/140744-nicky-hayden-1981-2017_140744
  25. Janko is a pacy right back, had an absolute shitemare in the second leg of champions league qualifying so Brendan shipped him off to Barnsley on loan. He's frequently injured but has some skill
