  1. Think if we lose the next two games (away to Dunfermline and home to Ayr) then a decision has to be made by the Board. Then again perhaps AJ and the Board are about to make a few significant signings in the forthcoming transfer window...okay Santa?
  2. Like many others I have no faith in AJ being able to turn this round. Cove last night were, by a country mile, better than us. They looked a competent Championship team, a team on the up, whereas we looked like a Lowland League team. I'm sure Hibs were hoping we would get through as they'll have a game on their hands against Cove in the next round of the cup. There is a malaise around the club just now and that won't be easy to arrest. Just look what happened to Brechin City when they were bottom of the Championship, they did not and still have not recovered. We really do need a re-think at that has to be lead by the Board. The manager has run his course and there needs to be a change. If there's not a change it will cost the club dearly by going down, and who knows where that will end up? Someone on here a few weeks ago suggested, perhaps with tongue in cheek, that Shelley Kerr, with Andy Thomson as her assistant, would be worth considering (whether they would be interested is another matter). An appointment like that would certainly create interest and would avoid the usual failures merry go round. For the record I don't think Dobbie would be interested living where he does and now coaching with Fylde FC. As far as Gibson taking on the role, well I'm not sure about that. I like him and he's a credit to himself how he's played over the last two seasons but I think, while welcome in some quarters, many of us would see that as the less expensive option.
  3. Absolute disgrace. Three home games, one win, one draw and a defeat to a lower league team. Queens totally clueless.
  4. THAT was a very good display last night...just hope we can turn it on again on Saturday but Thistle will be a much harder nut to crack than Morton were last night. Paton deserves a lot of credit for the way he stuck to his task for the winning goal and Connelly was a real pest to Morton all night. A really good team performance.
  5. My real concern at the moment is the apathy shown by us, Queens fans. Many of us have been on this journey for years...in my case almost 70 years...but we're totally fed up with the way the team are playing at present and the results. Not for a second do I think managing Queens is an easy gig, it's not, but our current management team do not inspire confidence that all of a sudden they'll turn the current squad (which they brought in) into a winning team, and this when most of us believe we have a better squad than last year. And I'm not one for complaining about the Board either as by and large over the years they've done a reasonable job but the lack of updates from them is a real concern. In fact the only person we hear about is Dan Armstrong who continues to do a fantastic job for the club...our only hero at present. To say the next three games, all at home, are in the must win bracket but when did we last put together back to back wins at home? Some changes are urgently required or crowds will continue to fall and more worrying in the long term interest in the club. Maybe Santa will be good to us!
  6. Champagne on ice just in case lowland star's news is accurate. Oh to hell with it I'm going to crack open the bottle now!
  7. That's us in a mini league along with Morton, Ayr and Hamilton. In the event we lose next week, highly likely on current form, then surely the Board need to take some action before it is defo too late (if it's not already). We looked good early in the season but we get worse game on game. AJ looked pissed off in his interview last night (why should he be any different from us?) so he needs to fix it...but is he capable?
  8. I think we are all worrying about ourselves. On paper we have a far better squad than over the last few years, but we've not got Dobbie. Okay he didn't play a lot latterly but his influence in the dressing room and on the training ground was massive. Lose today and on Friday night against ICT and we could be bottom of the league and in real trouble. Dunfermline took action because they needed to and could afford to do so. We need to take action if we don't take at least three points over the next two games. What are the odds on that?
  9. It didn't look a hell of a lot better at home but at least it was warm. Crap game but I thought we improved with Liddle and Roy coming on. Apart from height not sure what Cameron offers to be honest, much prefer to see Paton getting a run.
  10. Think he's working on it. A really poor display and certainly our worst this season.
  11. The worst performance I've witnessed for ages. Brynn reminds me of Calum Antell. Hamilton way ahead of us in every department and luck clearly with us. Have the team been in isolation this week?
  12. Anyone know if Jack Leighfield has signed for anyone now his contract with us has expired?
  13. If it is true that Gibson is unhappy, considering his association with the club, then I would suggest that is perhaps more to do with the fact that the management team have new contracts and he doesn't fancy working with them. It's also a fact that Dobbie's announcement that he was leaving came around the same time as AJ and SC's contracts were extended. I know some will applaud the manager for building a new team every year, and on a restricted budget, but unless he's very lucky (or good) we're in for another season trying to avoid the bottom two places.
  14. Stephen Dobbie's value to Queens is not only as a player but as a coach and mentor to some of our younger players. Having him around the club, even when not playing, was a major plus. So sorry his time with us is over but, like many others on here, just so happy I witnessed him at his best. A really top player and nice person who made time for the fans, especially our younger ones.
  15. RELIEF! But I suppose considering the circumstances before the season started we've done okay. Well done to all involved. Not easy for the Board. To try and field a team, against teams with a much larger budget (apparently), is not easy. The Championship is not an easy league so my hope is that next year we can go a lot better. But as I said at the beginning relief that we do not depend on a good result next week.
  16. Well Flash that certainly cheered me up. All we need now is for Greg Aitken to be the referee and we'll be doomed before we start. And we've another two years of this to look forward to!
  17. So we're set up for the play offs, unfortunately the one at the other end of the league. Unlike the last time we had to endure this I don't fancy our chances against any of the contenders.
  18. Please tell me that giving AJ and SC another contract, let alone a two year one is a late April Fool...
  19. John McGlynn way ahead of Alan Johnstone tactically. How AJ doesn't see at half time that a change was required yet he waits until 12 minutes from the end. Now the battle to avoid the play offs at the wrong end. Whatever happens next season please don't renew AJ's contract.
  20. Greg Aitken is, if nothing else, consistently poor. And got to say Buchanan isn't a lot better. Having him as Captain is a joke. He could have got closer to his man at both the first (when he was too busy claiming offside) and the third when he should have closed Liam Buchanan down. Alloa are a good team but poor refereeing decided this game.
  21. Dobbie has been loyal to us and for this and his football ability it's a no brainer...sign him for another year. Okay he may not play every minute of every game but when he is on the pitch opposition players know he's the one to watch. And his influence with younger players is also a major plus point.
  22. Of course with the success of the turn round it makes AJ more of an attraction for other clubs who need a Manager. As many on here have said who would have thought that we would be where we are back in December when most, including me, would have been happy to see a change of management team. Clearly the fact that we sign a new team almost every year of late is a problem so hopefully some thought is being given to signing some of the squad for next season. Big Ayo, Shields and a few others must be top of the re-sign list.
  23. Not a surprise but we simply can't do a rebuild job every season. We will hopefully survive another season in the Championship with the team we've got at present but unless we can find the resources to keep some of our better players then eventually we'll get caught out. When this team gets it together they are pretty good and what a difference from earlier in the season.
  24. Sadly that is the fact of the matter. But I still don't get the fact that AJ doesn't give Goss a run from the start, particularly with our injury list. This is a game, with current injuries, where we'll struggle up front, and I'm not convinced that Mebude, on his own, will do much against big defenders. Goss may just unsettle defenders so is it not time to give him a start, and not the usual 89/90 minute appearance?
  25. Wonder if Del Boy would fancy a cameo appearance? There was a time when the thought of Queens live on TV would excite me...this time round I may just give it a miss. Could be a really bad start to the weekend. Then again it's Queens we're talking about and they may just give us a ???????????
