I’ve previously brought this up only to be told it’s McGlynns budget to decide who’s coming in (and going out) and agree to a certain extent. My previous points raised that in any business I’ve managed there’s set approval/sign off for any revenue spend/expenditure.
Im flabbergasted that any BOD isn’t involved directly or indirectly with any transactions that may put the club at risk ( and we must be in the top three for that)

Nesbitts two year deal is so wrong for me, and if the BOD have sat back without challenging, is a huge concern.

Please tell me you are not suggesting that the board should be deciding who gets a new contract and over ruling the manager?

Airdrie bodied us in the playoffs, looking at Accies in the playoff final they would have bodied us aswell all over the park. Now if you want to pretend that the likes of Nesbitt, Donaldson, Oliver and co can stand up to that to win a league then your kidding yourself on. Too many shitebags not enough winners.

With the signings we’ve made so far, it’s almost as if McGlynn has recognised the need for more physicality in the team 🤔.

Im pretty certain the next few signings might also look to address the need for more pace/power/physicality and less shitebagness.

  3. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Donaldson, McCann, Henderson, Lawal, Morrison and Ageymang would strengthen every other team in our league.

McGinn is a top footballer although his legs are going. I’m not a massive Nesbitt fan but he got in the team of the year, Jordan Allan got double figures playing in a gang…

We aren’t brilliant but we have a much better starting point than this time last year. 5 good signings and there is no reason why we don’t win the league. The quality of the signings is crucial.

But that gets me is he was bleating on about conceding too many goals. If your keeping the entire defence that played a significant part in that then how does he hope it's going to get better? A new keeper who is decent will help but when you have a combination of Donaldson/Mackie/McKay in front of you they are still going to gift chances and goals. Is Watson going to be the saviour if he gets fit and earns a deal in pre season I don't think so. He needs to try and shift more imo especially when we are a bit top heavy at centre half if you factor in Henderson.

These guys are under contract, unless someone wants them then there is no alternative but to keep them. What do you want him to do?

Also a new Gk, RB and CB (all of which are guaranteed to be on the shopping list) and the defence has a completely different look to it. If they turn out to be shite then it’s a problem but why don’t you at least wait and see what the defence actually looks like before moaning about it.

I thought you guys were firmly in the no player manager camp?

Clearly pie in the sky re Arfield but I remember us getting it tight for appointing someone with no experience when we appointed mccabe.

Mate we are in the middle of dreaming up all sorts of scenarios about what this news might be. We couldn’t be less interested in Airdrie or McCabe right now.

The problem with this is that they would not have strengthened either Airdrie or Dunfermline this year or the two teams that went up last up last year in Cove and QP, if Falkrik want out this league that's the benchmark

I’ll keep this brief - Yes they would’ve.

    Thanks all the same 👍🏻

  7. Looking at what we’ve got leftover, it’s my opinion that McCann, Donaldson (pre Christmas) McGinn, Henderson, Lawal, Morrison and Ageymang would strengthen every other team in the league.

Upgrade in goals, right back, 1 CB, 1 midfield and 1 striker and we win the league. Don’t do that and we won’t.

It all comes down to recruitment for me.

wild thing to say, my goodness 😂🤦‍♂️

Most of the ability is there by 24, I don’t think he will now improve enough to be good enough! Not that hard to understand!

You don’t think a 24 year old will improve enough to be a Scottish 3rd tier player? Wow

Alegria is 3 or 4 years younger and had played 60/70 games less than Maciver as well so more room for improvement. Not sure what improvements folk are expecting a 24 year old to make 😂

I’ve no idea if MacIver will do well or not but are you seriously suggesting a 24 year old can’t improve?

  10. Looking forward, McGlynn will get the chance to rectify this next season. Trying to find some positives, I’ve come up with the following.

The expectation will be to win the league and the excuse of improving on last year no longer exists.
The squad leftover from this year is better than the squad left over from last year.
The cup run should ensure our budget is at least as big as anyone else’s if not the biggest.
Our first signing of the summer is a good one (on paper at least).
The league looks weak as piss.

I know there are also plenty negatives but they’ve been done to death over the last few days. The excuses are gone, it’s win or bust and the summer is going to be vital.

It’s not all about signings though. And they’ve been average at best. His tactics are awful.

You’re right it’s not all about signings but without an actual goalkeeper, a right back, a centre half, a midfield and a forward then tactics won’t matter a f**k. The signings are the first step.

    What happened?

He had a gripe with a fan during the first half as he seemed to take exception to being called shite 🤷🏼‍♂️. Then at full time he’s telling guys to meet him outside cos he was getting more stick. When you’ve been a catastrophic failure for 2 seasons you take that on the chin and get up the tunnel. He can f**k off.

It truly is. But I might just be able to top you there

I had a look at our record in the bigger, head-to-head type games since relegation in 2019. So four season's worth of league matches against the following clubs:

Airdrie, Cove Rangers, Dunfermline Ath, Partick Thistle, Queen's Park, Raith Rovers

    P 35  W 3  D  15  L 16

Which translates into 24 points gained from an available 105

    Absolutely frightening numbers

    Nothing further. Speaks for itself.

This sums us up. Look the part against the dross, not good enough against the better teams.

We’ve had a losers mentality for the best part of a decade and our players are serial bottlers.

Tuesday is as low as I’ve felt in a long time and I’m no closer to getting over it. Our club let’s us down time and time again.

As I said if McGlynn is much better than M&M then there really should be more than a cigarette paper to divide their records at  the club.

You keep going on about records but they managed different squads in different leagues. They inherited different groups. They play different styles of football.

We live in a country where there is a managerial merry-go-round and every Tom, Dick and Harry get at least 5 attempts at management before they run out of luck. The fact these 2 are in hairdressing and selling houses after 1 stint is telling. I can’t think of a single thing they were good at but if you think they were good football managers then you charge on 👍🏻
