The official guidelines from the government recommend kids being in the house themselves is actually at 14, at least overnight or for any long length of time... but there is a large caveat on "know your own child and how responsible they are, you're not getting lifted if you go to the shops and leave your 13yr old behind." Most concert venues also say 14+ only.
Agree with high school age personally, and I turned 12 eight months after starting first year. Never went myself at that age though as I had extremely limited geographical knowledge or use of buses, and there being only one other known MFC fan in my year who was ok but not a close friend.
Now as an adult my own is just in 1st year. I bought us both season tickets/renewed and any notice of the change during buying passed me by. Maybe because of the joint purchase, but a lot of what if's arise. What if I was ill but wanted to send her? What if I had work but wanted to send her herself? What if we arrived at two separate times? @crazylegsjoe_mfc is right - it does affect me and it should have been plastered/unavoidable.
Fair points that I've been thinking about as well / potentially could have fallen foul of . I have a shift on some Saturdays where I'll probably finish in time to go back home and get the kids in time for a 3pm KO but always the chance I won't so my standing arrangement on those days is to email my oldest with the junior tickets ( he's 11 , just started high school ) get the Mrs to drive them there and I'll meet them in the stadium straight from work. No ST this year, prefer to buy online as and when required and never at any time even when selecting junior tickets has it been obvious that they wouldn't get in while waiting for me .

Just finished Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie .
Not sure what to make of it and really struggled to get into it for large parts. In the foreword he mentions that he wrote it in a way to try and recreate the chaotic and overcrowded nature of India, which he certainly does , tho for me large parts of that just came across as total gibberish! Unsure if this is standard to his writing style or unique to this book but it has made me think twice about delving into some more of his work.

I’m strangely all for it - please sign me up for our “ Charge of the light Brigade” tactics for the new season .
Only if we get the bugle blast back on the tannoy when we win a corner!

Yeah, I've heard that before as well. It's a fair point and there are no doubt pros and cons... personally I would land on the side that a more credible view of the game would be worth it regardless long -term but it's their decision.
There's no way that a whole load of purpose built , slightly smaller than full size pitches will ever be built. My boy has started 9s this year and it's the same problem. All the hundreds of 9s pitches that were promised didn't appear so they have real difficulty finding facilities to play on, and usually end up playing box to box on an 11s pitch with temporary goals and cones for the touch line which looks totally amateur hour. You could argue that it's the guys that have outgrown the pitches as I'm sure when the dimensions were originally drawn up the average height and speed etc of men playing would be closer to the women's game now?! The pitch is the same size for both teams , let them get on with it.
Anyway , more mercurial forwards please then we can look forward to the 80th minute mass substitution of our entire midfield to play 5 up front to chase a 1-0 win!

Congratulations to those elected. If my nominations follow the same form as my betting then apologies @Gaag97 and @Vietnam91 for jinxing your bids !
As my first action as a WS member I was proud to be able to take part in it and spent several hours over the last few weeks revisiting pitches and doing my research , so in that respect the turnout is a little disappointing.

Was surprised by just how negative Killie were after the sending off . I had totally convinced myself that it must have went straight to penalties without ET as why else would they be time wasting so much , surely 10 men want to get the game finished in the 90 at all costs as the last thing you would want is another 30 with a man down ? Is it a sign of how solid our defense is now as last season I'm pretty sure most teams would have fancied running right through our back line with 10,9 or even 8 men on the pitch?!

Commentators are seriously going to hate us this year.
Koutroumbis passes to Zdravkovski, who slides it to Stuparevic, he plays it out wide to Maswanhise who crosses it for Stamatalopolous ….
Now all we need to do is make sure they're all fit at the same time ......

Whatever you think about the Watt signing I think the main thing is that it's almost a guarantee that everyone has something to say about it ! Which I think suits TW down to the ground. Personally I'm pretty excited about it if only because it gives a glimmer of hope that we'll have someone who's first thought is attacking and is a bit of a shithouse.
Folk that get bent out of shape at a footballer kissing the badge then joining another club and celebrating a goal against you must be an absolute joy to go to a pantomime with.

From the SPFL website on player elligibility:
Except for a Player/player who has only Played, including being listed as a named
substitute, in the First Round (Group Stage) of Matches who shall not be included for
the purposes of this Regulation 8.3, no Club or club (“A”) shall Play, or list as a named
substitute, any Player or player who, in the same Season, has already played in a
Match by entering the field of play, whether in the starting eleven or by being used as
a substitute by another Club or club (“B”) in the Competition and, subject to the stated
exception, any such Player or player shall not be eligible to Play, or be listed as a named
substitute, for Club or club A.I'm sure that could be written in a clearer format ! Any idea what the difference between a Player and a player is ?

This always reminds me of an old maths teacher I had. When doing algebra, if the answer to a question was "7x" and someone only said "7" he'd always respond with "7 what? Bananas?".
Hence whenever I see this menu pricing style I automatically think they want paid in bananas.
My physics teacher must have been splitting his time between Lanarkshire and Fife, that is my exact thought whenever I see that and also the response I give to my kids whenever they don't specify units

Motherwell FC - A Thread For All Seasons

Remember listening to a fitba podcast a while back and there was a Scottish manager (Cannae mind who) saying he always offered players from overseas a 2 year +1 deal as the first year is considered a total write off due to acclimatisation , personal issues etc , then if they turn out good in their 2nd year then you have the option to get another good season out them . Mental to think folk are writing someone who is probably still trying to work out where the f*ck they've just moved to off after a few LC cameos .
