As the 2nd round of games gets going teams will be setting out formations to achieve just that. Break up the rhythm and block the channels we play in. Suspect they will try to close off the wings and channel the attacks inside. The trick is turning that to our advantage by using their tactics against them and still keeping our own style. Put the liability on the support and the club they do impersonations of supporting. Any sanctions applied would take into consideration the actions the club takes to eliminate the individuals from involvement with the club. From lifetime bans, removing supporter clubs' association with the team, and denial of tickets. Decentl supporters won't want that and will not by shy about shopping them should they break the embargo. If clubs are seen to only do lip service then it's the next home game behind closed doors. The problem is solved instantly.

Let's get away from looking at other results. Do this business on the pitch and don't give a 'F' about anything else. That's the winning attitude.

There was an old guy who worked at Falkirk Iron Works I spoke to in 1970 when I worked there. He told me the first Falkirk team mostly comprised of members of Carron Company's various department's football teams who had a company league. Since Carron Company was by far the biggest employer at that time it would make sense that they would have played some part in the club's formation since they would be by far the biggest concentration of teams in the area.

The anniversary is when the club was formed because that has to happen first so a team called Falkirk Football and Athletic Club could be put on the park. When the first game was played is incidental.

Play badly and win is the trademark of good team spirit and the right attitude even on an off day. That would have meant a lot to the players at full-time. They will have known it was an off day and a rollicking awaited them in the dressing room but they ground out the result - well done.

That's where you negotiate the terms and conditions. Also since the club has lower overheads and is more financially secure we play at a higher level. As for the Queens Park scenario not an issue week about and the league fixtures could be sorted out and other clubs rent from the council without any issues. Remember the clubs future is more secure by not having to finance the pitch, roof, floodlights, seats the big one off financial hits it involves. The reality is we are depending on yearly £400k cash injections from the fans with no more security of that cash flow than faith. It is only prudent to look seriously at our major outgoings and the stadium and the recurring oncosts as they require replacement, maintenance are a major contributor to that figure.

That is where negotiation comes into it and sell the benefits for both parties and that requires some business savvy people that know how to make a pitch. For example move the offices out the stadium. Council get a dedicated modern office block. FFC open offices in town maybe together with a shop / pub to exploit a central location certainly plenty of office / shops available therefore reducing club overheads and the town center gets another premises open and trading. Council get full control of TFS area for development FFC get a much needed cash injection at a critical stage for the clubs future and reduced overheads ongoing knowing we don't have to fund roof repairs, new seating , floodlights, pitch on a continual basis with a renegotiated rental agreement ( no lease ) to reflect the ups and downs of our league position.

Council would never sell to FFC we went through that discussion ages ago and its been flogged to death. FFC will never own a home ground again, shameful but there it is. Clean break with no responsibility for it's running is the next best option.

It would be the final piece of the jigsaw for Falkirk Council. They own most of the stadium, car park, and surrounding land, and long-term complete ownership of the stadium is a no-brainer. It's Falkirk Council after all and they do like their statement pieces as status symbols.

Possible one-off cash injection into the club would be to sell the assets we hold in the stadium to the council and be shot of it once and for all. After all previous threads made it clear the council will never sell their share to FFC, so fine let them own the white elephant lock stock and barrel with FFC having no involvement or responsibility for it's upkeep. Let the council update the floodlights, repair the roof, replace the seating, playing surface etc. Rent the place for games possibly training maybe some office space and that's it. Bound to be a reduction in running costs per season not having to factor into the yearly budget these oncosts with the bonus of funds we desperately need this season. Club

Agree its the only extra income source at present hence 'short-term' What worries me is that the club is committed to a budget dependent on an income stream that can't be looked at as a certaintly to do so would be disrespectful to the support. All it takes is for one season to come up short. Hopefully we get promoted and that addresses a good % of the problem. Worrying time though for Scottish Football. People's personal finances have been decimated with ongoing reductions in disposable income. Therefore budgeting for £400k pear season donation from fan's is not sustainable, it never was. These funds should be looked on as a short-term fix because sooner or later it will not be met. Some hard decisions for next season whether we go up or stay down.

Great recovery when somebody gets past him and gets back in position also helped by being as hard as nails. He's got that bit bit of instant pace that makes the difference bit like Stuart Kennedy in that department. Big future in the game.

To be in that situation is a nice problem to have. With the option to say to the starter 'your on for an hour give it your all' with a fresh player coming on to exploit the good work done. That takes team spirit and players buying into it and it looks like the squad has that. Jock Stein did that with Lennox-Hughes and vise versa to devesting effect.
