  1. The club stated it had to pay for roof repairs due to last winters storms, there was no mention the Council contributed and there was no statement made by the council that they had. Not going into the stadium issue. My post related to a post regarding space in the main stand and who owns it. Commented that the club repaired the roof above it. Some folk don't have get themselves wound up defending the stadium situation the club is saddled with. Get a grip and put things in perspective.
  2. Well the last roof repairs were paid for by FFC and the council did not pay a penny towards the costs. You are welcome to prove otherwise, which you won't because you can't I did not start the thread on the stadium matter and my comment was valid. If you find the facts uncomfortable - tough
  3. FFC however pay to maintain the council's roof and guttering under the lease agreement.
  4. Tickets for kids are an investment in the future as the home game becomes the norm as far as their social life is concerned that a large % will carry into adulthood and into the next generation. Also while they get in for free most will spend in the stadium, Programme, Pie, Fizzy drink etc so there will be an income stream from them that will not show up directly.
  5. The Record Exclusive The Daily Record ain't exactly a trustworthy, honest or credible source of information. Therefore what they printed should be treated accordingly, namely 'Aye right not' To be fair to the players involved with their permission both clubs should make a statement on the matter to kill the gossip, theories, bullshit and stirring.
  6. Regarding the issue of a rigid formation. For that to work over a season the quality, mentality and style of the team has to be right. Get that then its a matter of going onto the pitch with an attitude of. Here we are, you know how we play, what you going to do about it. Are we good enough for that mindset? Not yet and that is where you have 2 or 3 players to put on to change things. Yesterday proved we don't have that and the only positives out of yesterdays result is McGynn now knows. 1. Put your best 11 on the park, win the game then sub at will. 2. Players on the bench are not good enough to acheive the above mindset.
  7. Of course Hamilton will be up. Beat the team below them with the bonus the team above them scrapped a draw against the bottom team in the league totally unexpected. Win the game in hand, 6 points behind and all to play for.
  8. Well we can't say we weren't warned. Foot on the neck of Hamilton and we took it off. Recriminations and a drop of morale while Hamilton will be bouncing. All self-inflicted
  9. There is a case that Scottish Football would get better if the bigot brothers buggered off.
  10. Clubs I loath Aberdeen: Whinging cheats 11 Rangers - Celtic: enough said Hearts: East coast bigots Morton: Dreich place, club, support
  11. Start with your best 11 and get the game won, then sub at will. Rather than throwing on subs with 30 minutes to go and the possibility of injuries, booking, sending off's as the team chase a result with the clock ticking down. It's the sensible call
  12. Jock Stein during the 1967 European Cup run was asked in an interview about Celtic being such an attacking team it may be weak defensibly He repled ' Celtic are a very defensive team, having possession in the opponent's last 1/3rd of the park is the best defence you can have' Think it was BBC's David Coleman that asked the question he was speechless.
  13. As far as Ross County goes when Roy McGregor (McGregor Supplies) goes so does all his supplier advertising hoardings and sponsorships. Good luck to them as they had some great days and memories which will make the reckoning all the more bitter to take.
  14. Asset stripper and a tragedy for the club and the town. Always had a lot of time and goodwill for old shiry pirie despite one of the best chants from opposition fans having a dig at Falkirk. 'Shiries a great wee team, geez goal geeza goal geeza a goal. If it's firba yer after don't go to Brockville. Shiries a great wee team geeza goal geeza goal geeza goal geeza goal' Brilliant!
  15. No need for a fancy stand like the other 3. Hardcore base paved with seating for 15 rows future proofed for conversion to terracing should regulations change. Low roof to funnel the noise and surely the cheapest option. Not going near the existing stadium subject everybody knows my feelings on it. This post's a constructive (excuse the pun) suggestion on how to complete the complex.
  16. Lang - Donaldson are a very similar partnership to Burgess and Manley. Both partnerships boss their area and impose themselves on the opposition and influence the whole team around them. Transformational signings.
  17. Doing what we are doing requires an option. Because as we go into the 2nd half of the season, the opposition are going to be more adept at countering the teams playing style. Nothing won yet and there is a long way to go.
  18. McKay has financial commitments like us all and has to think of the security till the end of the season. It can't be easy for the guy in particular, with the less than complimentary remarks posted on the forum. It would be in the club and the player's interest to go out on loan to get regular football and put himself in the shop window to get a contract somewhere next season. Would also show to potential signings the clubs responsible attitude to players under contract. Suspect he will go out on loan with FFC picking up part of the wage bill
  19. Holt rang my alarm bell on his first game in charge the Hibs 4 - Falkirk 3 Scottish Cup semi-final Was obvious Hibs were going to throw all they had at us in the 2nd half. when I saw Falkirk line up with a 3 in midfield for the last 45 minutes, I knew he was going to be a disaster.
  20. Every player on the books has their price, and that's a fact. For McGlynn it's balancing the value of the player to the team against the value of the cash that will be available for the squad. It's a hard call and that's why McGynn sits at the managers' desk.
  21. 'But going okay so far' is inherently risky it's presuming year after year fan contribution. Peoples disposable incomes are going to tumble for years to come and that in the end will affect the income stream at some time. Keep doing what we are doing, as you say it's working. But if there are other options they should be looked at. Also the board should have an action plan banked for the worse case scenario should the worst happen.
  22. That is why if he is going, go in the transfer window and at least get a bit of a casher for a replacement. Morrison even non thinking will hold back in some challenges. All it takes is one mistimed tackle of some prat decides to nail him. Not worth the risk and McGlynn is nobodies mug and will have a potential replacement lined up.
  23. Sadly Edinburgh City will not be the only club who's future will be in doubt and would not be surprised if more followed before the season is out. Canny realistic budgeting required as the recession and declining disposable income for the forceable future will hit the clubs income stream.
  24. He has enough savvy about him not to try that nonsense.
  25. Scot Arfield has been a great servant to the club and been a top pro. It would be fitting if he was to end his playing career where it started. If Falkirk sign him I hope it does not end in tears as it has for so many ex heroes returning shadows of their former selves and remembered for that rather than their days of glory. If he cannot do his trademark box to box anymore what role could he fill? Nice problem to have though.
