  1. Always remember an Ayr player having an outrageous ‘hair doo’ and couldn’t remember who. Knew Conway had a few horror colours but wasn’t him, then I found the beauty........take a bow of shame Fergie...... Also found this while looking for that pic, interesting read from a couple of seasons back.... https://www.pitchcare.com/news-media/ayr-on-a-shoestring.html That guy does a fantastic job, the pitch looked like a bowling green for the beginning of the season.
  2. Think Saturday is going to be a real test for us but I’m not fearful in the slightest. The team as a whole are a joy to watch and the cammeraderie between the players is inspiring. Got my haircut at the Turkish barbers at fish cross yesterday and the barber asked what I wanted. So I asked for short back and sides, kept long on top and parted to the side. He replied “Ah sir, you require the Shankland cut”. Stays and keeps us up this season then they can name a street after him, never mind a haircut lol.
  3. £81.5k if you want to be pedantic lol. I read it wrong and added £12.5k for a group stage televised game. Might not even be on TV.
  4. https://spfl.co.uk/news/betfred-cup-boost-for-spfl-clubs According to this article from last year, if we get beat and it’s on TV we should receive £72.5k minimum.
  5. Ooooh a shout out on BBC Breakfast on a Monday morning......albeit only because of the draw. Still nice to hear “championship side Ayr United” eating my cornflakes lol. Even if it is on TV, is it not a case that TV money is pooled and already allocated for clubs in the Betfred cup? Or is that the Scottish cup? Also seem to remember something about the home club retaining gate receipts......might not be as lucrative as some are making out, prize money won’t be that great neither. While a good cup game and run are enjoyable, the league is our bread and butter.
  6. The voice, what a lad.... https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/voice-reason-ayr-uniteds-bottle-13050021
  7. Best wind up I’ve heard in years and I’m still laughing on the inside...... what he heard... A deal worth £2m, included in that is Jones valued at £500k and a RB Ferguson and the rest made up with dot dash. A ‘diehard’ Ayr fan telling me that with ‘poker face’ was funny.
  8. Yeah that’s it but he also done one at home. What a goal tho?
  9. Famous chip is too easy. Meaning that it was every single Ayr fans.
  10. D'jaffo from about 30 yards for the world of me I can't remember who against Stirling I think.
  11. Loving the nostalgia vibe, better than speculation of doom and gloom. Whats your favourite goal? I’ll go Ian Ferguson in the st Valentine’s Day massacre. 2nd Andy Rodgers scissor kick v some junior team in the cup. We won 5-0.
  12. Too young up until ‘98.....16 and getting served your first pint in the tam ‘o’ lol. Used to be a place next to the old maths dickies that posh burds went....baroque or something. Peppers is the new matha dickies.
  13. Tee hee hee, from some of the posts I can work out who you are lol. Chapman Billy’s then club too far for me until getting kicked out and then a slow walk to excess. All those birthday parties as a kid in ‘jump for joy’ and last time I walked down Nile court I was singing “Ayr, Ayr...super Ayr”.......that was only last weekend lol.
  14. All this scout pish is doing my head in. Scouts are paid to watch players, also the teams they play in. Paid to watch opposition they may play against. Tactics etc. My mate Graham is a hibs scout and he was at the stenny game. His exact words were “ I’m here to watch how 10, 12 and 11” manage the trifecta onto their strong foots from different positions. Think about it! Mcguffie is naturally left, McDaid naturally right and Forrest playing in the hole.
  15. No need for crayons, think of a catchy tune that people will sing about. Pick on the seagulls if that matters.
  16. Don’t remember that one. I remember Ayr had a player called Billsland. He worked in jean division (became sports division) in the Kyle centre during the week. I remember the the song “bizzy....bizzy... bizzy bizzy bumble bee”, would come to a corner and nothing and then the song “we’ll get our jeans somewhere else”.
