  1. Did we not have another academy player a couple of years back that was also getting ‘billy big licks’. Had the bigot sisters trying to get him, think it was Hawkshaw, not the Killie one and I’m not meaning M Shankland going to Birmingham for a trial.
  2. Disagree a wee bit. Flags are a way of showing a group of support rather than individuality. Saltire and Union Jack debate has been going on probably since the first flag at Somerset. Never mind, better things to have an Ayr United discussion about.
  3. Me neither. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, fly their flag etc. It’s up to them if they want to cause offence to others and deal with the repercussions. Doesn’t bother me unless it’s completely offensive. Edmond, I deleted my rebuttale but thanks for deleting the post.
  4. I’m not on FB but someone needs to tell the SRE that anybody can read their trivial pish. That post (of which got deleted) with an Ayr badge on a St Gayorges cross, Irish tricolour and Palestine flag was an abomination. Wether it was a piss take against the Union Jack post I don’t know. One thing this season is that we all stand together, all outside beliefs and disbeliefs aside. Too many a time we’ve bickered and fought amongst ourselves.
  5. Ooft. Mind you, catering would improve from rat burger with nuclear cheese to a better grade of rat burger with nuclear cheese. I think the hype behind this so called ‘massive advertising deal, biggest in club history’ got carried away. Anyway, the product on the park is all that matters. Four of my mates who lost a bit of faith over the years, of whom occasionally went if they could be bothered or didn’t because of work and family constraints etc, have went and got season tickets. The exact phrase of “if I can’t go due to work, then I’ll make sure someone else can”. Fans are starting to come back out the woodwork and dusting off their scarves. If the club and the team keep showing intent then more will follow.
  6. The best game ever was FIFA Manager by EA Sports, it stoped in 2014 but you could build your own stadium, design your team home/away top etc. Far better than FM18
  7. Yes he played for them and pretty sure his testimonial against us was meant to be for the Ayrshire cup. We put a team out for a Westsound cup. I don’t know the facts but they apparently claimed the cup as an asset before RBoS foreclosed on them. Keep playing FM 18 pal, I do too lol.
  8. Aye advertise Maccy’ds. Take their (franchise) dot dash and promote xxl tops. Commercial gold mine Its not like the frankwa and benwa franchise sponsor things and give discount to lottery members. Sorry im taking the news as a wet squib
  9. Granted, Roxannes man and myself most culpabile. Reading back I agree. However a thread for Ayr United supporters to vent our present , admiration, frustration and the past/future. If not, I won’t post again Bikini State: Black and White
  10. Not scumarnock and think if it was at San Somerset the gate would be shared and if on tv the money has already been dished out before the cup started. Hearts away would do fine. Yes I think we’d pip them.
  11. A good cup run is fantastic, as a realist I’m going to hope we get a ‘big’ team away to put a few coffers in the kitty. The league is our bread and butter. If this team can establish us back where we belong and not this yo-yo pish we’ve become acustomed to then I’ll be a very happy Ayr supporter.
  12. Someone said last night that Doc is only contracted till January. Is it 6 months remaining on an 18 month deal or 6 months to prove fitness?
  13. Such a buzz going round just now. Been a while since I’ve counted more Ayr tops being worn round the town on a non game day than dirty old firm tops. Plus two buses from two different travel clubs going up on Saturday. I’m still going to verge on the edge of caution, the majority of us have had our ‘fingers burnt in the fire’ before but doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the warming glow it gives and keep it burning. Overheard someone say about Shankland last night, “Aye he’ll be off in January” and someone replied “ffs just enjoy yerself”. Same person probably complained it was only 5 and not 7. Unfortunately being realistic it does happen in football but he’s contracted until the end of the season and it’s a long way to go till christmas. Im loving the buzz just now.
  14. Did we not pay something completely ridiculous like nearly £80k for Alex Bone from Stirling.......he went on to play about 10 games scoring twice. I might be wrong about the transfer fee but it was something crazy.
  15. That’s where I got the international goalkeepers from lol. Some absolute horrors that soil the name of Ayr United.
  16. The main problem I had with Reid was his attitude towards the fans at times. One personal one to me was when my son had saved up his pocket money to buy a new home top. Reid was in the shop and my son who was only 7 asked him if he’d sign his top and he turned to him, laughed and said “no, I’m too busy for that”. McKenzie turned to him and said “sign the wee boys top you miserable dick”. I walked over and grabbed it out Reid’s hand and said “ it’s alright, don’t want you to ruin it”......plus a few choice words.
  17. That’s a tough one, all bad in one way or another. Burley was just woeful. Stainrod and his ‘foreign legion’ plus putting himself in the first team being about 10 stone overweight. Watt for basically signing every Stranraer player then f@cking everything up, Roberts for still thinking he was one of the lads.......but I’m going to opt for tweedle dum and tweedle doo, only one thing they got right was bringing Stevo Home.
  18. Burley, Stainrod, two Rabs, Watt, Roberts.......we weren’t exactly blessed at times.
  19. Barry John Corr, Keith Hogg, Austin Mcann, Brownlie, Mark Twaddle, Chris Aitken, Gavin Friels, Kevin Kyle, Ross Jack, David Dunn. Not bad players but gripes with McGowan for laughing when we were 7-0 down to ICT, Sam McGivern for refusing to play against ‘them’ at old rusty park and Ally Graham for giving the SRE a Mooney with his big hairy arse.
  20. Don’t think so, if he did it’s not on soccerbase or wiki.
  21. Was sitting thinking about past keepers and how many we’ve had in our past that played at international level. So far found: Kristian Finnbogason - Iceland Thomas Gill - Norway Jens Martin Knudsen - Faroe Islands Alan Rough - Scotland (Although only played one game for Ayr) Henry Smith - Scotland David Stewart - Scotland Yes, I am bored lol
  22. Unfortunately certain people in our fanbase think dishing out abuse will make a player play better. Same people who are probably scared going home to get a hiding off their other half.
