  1. Still speculation of doom and gloom. It’s flag day tomorrow......can we not just be happy for just now and enjoy? Thats great news about Eccrepont. Haven’t seen him play but seems to be highly rated.
  2. Bejesus, we’ve come a long way since D:ream and “things can only get better”. Used to make me cringe hearing that at Somerset before kick off. Nothing like being defeatest before a ball is kicked.
  3. So you know differently do you? Hmmmm, I beg to differ. For a minute there I actually forgot he’s married to my cousin.
  4. Can we not just enjoy the buzz and confidence just now instead of speculating impending doom. Granted we aren’t used to it but Ayr United is bigger than just one player.
  5. Conway left Ayr because of the way he was treated. That’s fact.
  6. I wasn’t meaning the top league. That was way before my time. I was referring to being an established Championship (or old 1st division) club with a few good cup runs. Instead of being a yo-yo club between divisions.
  7. With the continuing buzz and flag day I reckon we’ll have just over 2k Home fans. Yes there were 4K fans for the stranrank playoff final but a lot of fans that day would have travelled a far for it. Stay away fans are dusting off their scarves tho and are starting to believe again.
  8. Was only very young back then but still remember Graham and Shaw. Did that shitebag Burley not swap them both to Falkirk for Sam McGivern? Broke up one of the best strikeforces in the league for a twat that refused to play against ‘them’ in the cup. The game we got beat 2-1 and Henderson scored a diving header for us.
  9. Still, we need to verge on the edge of caution, not wanting to dampen anybody’s moment but we’ve been here many a time and got a slap in the face. It’s a long way to go but confidence is high and long may it continue.
  10. Billy Dodds....product of the Ayr United boys club.....one that slipped through the net and came back to haunt us. B&Q cup final. There’s one other striker but I can’t remember who, was it Owen Coyle?
  11. Think you should hide your phone then lol. I did laugh but it did scunner my coupon for £500 odd quid.
  12. Oh dear........there’s just some things you shouldn’t post mate.
  13. Pity the open day was cancelled, understandable as I had visions of a muddy Glastonbury. Don’t know why it’s not on the official site as not everybody has FB.
  14. I hope so too mate. Seems every one of my mates have went and got season tickets although a couple of them can only make the odd game. Absoloutely loving the buzz just now. In over 30 years of supporting Ayr through thick and thin this is a great feeling. Long let it continue.
  15. Ayr winning, wonder goal scored, tip of Hursty for Shankland to score anytime at 3/1, backing Ayr with £50 at 9/2......carlsberg don’t do Saturdays lol. Only thing I could have complained about was the horror score with Cove and Raith beating an 8 team accumulator......however pissing myself laughing was even sweeter.
  16. A Killie supporting train conductor in Troon, hope you checked you still have your wallet! Nope not heard that one but heard we are still keeping tabs on Stewart at Airdrie. Especially as his dad is now a coach with us. However he signed a new deal with them so would need to pay a fee which I can’t see happening anytime soon. Also Turner at Stranrank but he’s being linked with West Brom. That’s the only rumours I’ve heard and probably only a minuscule amount of truth in it tbh.
  17. Thought that was before the triple signing. If Higgins is fit soon I doubt it. Would prefer cover for LB. (Including injuries) At RB we have Geggan, Ferguson and Rose if need be. CB Higgins, Rose, Bell, Adams and LB just Harvie....although Ferguson played on the left a couple of times last season. Haven’t really seen much of the academy players to know wether they’d be adequate cover. If only there was an ambidextrous defender somewhere, we’d be sorted.
  18. “The type of defender that arrives”, what’s the gossip? Is it imminent? Or are you just waiting on Ferguson delivering a performance.
  19. The Feyenoord connection was between Ciar, Alan, Stevie hall etc. There was also one with Glentoran or crusaders. Christ, who remembers the SRE rocking with the “shoes aff, sit down song” by the Feyenoord fans. Now that was funny.
