  1. I can't sing. If I had the ground would have cleared instantly.
  2. Agree that Bell could have played for the strollers to give him game time. My criticism of Willie on six yard box performance goes back two seasons, not just one game. He just does not command this area. As you said he was not heard shouting for that ball. He should have been in my opinion. He slapped a cross against Cowdenbeath which resulted in them hitting the post and his performance against Kilmarnock was less than impressive in that area on at least two occasions. Admittedly these did not have any material difference on the game. As has been said he is a first class shot stopper and indeed has recently had some excellent game saving saves but in truth that is what a goalkeeper is there for. I feel his weaknesses could be coached out of him to a point but his natural instinct on a cross ball is caution. I would like to see him braver.
  3. I have a feeling that whoever finishes in 10th place this season will retain their place in the playoffs. I do hope so. Kelty would be an absolute disaster with that ragbag of a manager and Brora would be inconvenient to say the least. If anyone had to progress I would take Bonnyrigg. I would like to think that we could miss them by winning the playoffs to go up.
  4. Whilst I do hope Brechin stay up I wish them to start their great revival on Saturday. In honesty we have had two comfortable wins already this season and we rarely take maximum points against any team so I feel this will be a tighter game. Brechin have bolstered their defence but I don't see much venom in their attack. I will take any win but feel we may just have too much in our locker. 2-0 to Queens.
  5. Excellent post. I think we can be well pleased with what has been achieved in a month. Cove have had two full seasons to develop a squad like they have. We were not that far behind them yesterday. We can't afford slip ups against the likes of Brechin and Annan. Last Friday I would have taken 6 points from our next three games. That is still achievable. Better to drop points against Cove who will probably beat our rivals in due course than to slip up against the lesser sides in the division. Concentration from the whistle must be applied at the beginning of both halves. Huge week coming up.
  6. Goals direct from corners always down to the goalie. Big improvement from last trip and if we were to lose silly goals better to do it in this game than either of the next two. Cammy Bell must be a step closer to debut? I am sure we did not sign him to be a second choice.
  7. Great news indeed. If he plays from the start I will amend my prediction to say I will be disappointed if we don't take a point.
  8. This will be an indication of how far we have come in the last few weeks and perhaps how far we need to go. I am disappointed that we may not have our main signing (in my judgement) as his playmaking skills looked awesome in his first game. Maybe just a bridge too far this time but would be disappointed if we do not make a better show of things. I would be over the moon if we keep our unbeaten league record under Ray.
  9. I agree with Ben that it is not right to complain to the stewards re searches. We should respect that they are there to do a job (on the lowest pay level) under instruction and it does not cause inconvenience. I do not consider the search as anything other than stupid. To stand and argue is defeatist. I do object to the principle of QP carrying out searches on fans while members can swan about the centre stand and enter through the main door without question. The inconsistency is ludicrous. When I asked about this a few years back I did not receive the courtesy of a reply, a main reason why I have refused to apply for membership having been invited on several occasions. The main point I would make, and it is not original, is that QP should surely want to make game day as pleasant as possible to attract more people in. If there is no point in doing something or it isn't being done properly why do it at all?
  10. Not at all surprised. A product of a bygone age. No commercial acumen. Customers seen as a nuisance.
  11. Don't know what game you were at. Two decent teams trying to play football in atrocious conditions. Both should be applauded. I thought our defence kept its shape better than any game this season and the passing of the ball out of defence was terrific. Chances missed for both sides which I think were about even but overall we are playing with a confidence which is great to see. Delighted to see Willie Muir shouting instructions to his forwards. Next week will be a tester.
  12. Hold off. Still time to pick up a free agent!
  13. I doubt it but conditions will be testing.
  14. This is the big one. Two form teams battling it out in foul weather which is a shame. This game deserves better. Thought Elgin were a very well organised team on their last visit. Looks like Smart will be playing against us which makes him a dead cert to score. Hoping our new guys will show just enough edge to carve out a very hard fought victory but would not be too unhappy with a share of the spoils.
