  1. We're presumably not alone, but the days of having some kind of idea what is happening with injured players seems to be long gone* (unless I'm looking in the wrong places). Anyone have any info on Pawlett, McGrath or Behich *Assuming I'd be right in thinking its The Fat Controller's fault?
  2. I agree that we the fans could do with some answers. Ultimately that would have to come from Ogren. Ogren, for me, clearly didn't sanction spend yet more more of his money. If Ashgar could go out and buy whoever he wanted, then he obviously would. There's a fair bit of revisionism going on around how good Butcher is - typified by him being bomber out by Burton Albion
  3. I see the latest thing for the #AshgarOut boys to get their knickers in a twist about, is us not signing a boy who couldn't get a game for Burton Albion, and had been banging their pals Mrs.
  4. May have bypassed some, but seen that Meekison is out for the season at Falkirk. Does that mean 'Fat Tony' has managed to get Falkirk to pay our injured player's wages? #AshgarIN
  5. Would agree with lots of this. The atmosphere in the away end last night was as sour and toxic as I can remember. Every single mistake, regardless of how innocuous, got hounded on by, what wasn't far removed from, a baying mob. Fairly sure a significant percentage of our fans revel in getting on the players' backs like that. As far as I can see our we're hamstrung by finances and we'll just need to go with what we've got. Ogren wouldn't appear to be returning to the well to dish out more cash to finance more sackings, more appointments, more signings (When a gambler has a bad afternoon in the bookies, the sensible thing to do is cut his losses and leave it at that, rather than eye up the 20/1 shot in the last that he likes the look of). None of this excuses last night as the players and manager were awful having looked pretty decent since the WC, but they look so brittle and lacking in confidence I'm not sure what constant berating of them actually achieves.
  6. Spent a small fortune on going to that last night. Are all games still on PPV? (Like in the COVID era). Hadn't realised that if so. Could have stayed in the house and saved myself from that dross.
  7. Poor performance that, with a manager seemingly unable to change anything. How Levitt got 90 minutes is beyond me. He's a good player but he's not what we need given where we are. Our best 45mins this season arguably was v Hibs away with Djoum and Sibbald together in the middle - but it's not seen the light of day since. Unfair of me to single out Levitt, as he just as bad as most of the others. I'd love to know the script with Cudjoe - only player on our books that gets the and runs at defenders. Quite why Fox thinks that's something we can do without I don't know. Horrible atmosphere in the stand in tonight. Fans arguing with each other and a lot of frustration. Can imagine the players picked up on it. This week (v Celtic, the end of the transfer window, away to Kilmarnock and away to Hearts) was always going to be tough. A decent run of home games after that that will hopefully get us back on track
  8. I’m worried I’m becoming a ‘Happy Clapper’ The picture of our transfer window activity from the BBC page is doing the rounds this morning – and by large getting torn to shreds. We’ve not strengthened admittedly, but I’d suggest there’s a very good reason for that (£££££). However are we really any worse off than before? Watt – second choice striker. Disruptive influence in the dressing room it would seem. Costs us a fortune in wages too Eriksson – back up keeper who looked shaky the few times he did play. If Birigihitti gets injured, I think we’d be able to get an emergency loan keeper Chalmers – was already out on loan Glass – was already out on loan Meekison – wasn’t getting any meaningful gametime, although I’m puzzled as to why Bisland – never played a minute Duffy – was already out on loan Robson – never played a minute Watson – just back from long term injury. Hutchinson – never played a minute Adams – never played a minute
  9. Smith and Freeman both had an afternoon to forget. Hopefully a centre half will come in by Tuesday night and Smith and Freeman can fight it out for the RB spot. Levitt and Harkes could do a lot worse than look to the likes of Mooy and see what happens when you get yourself extremely fit and put on some muscle.
  10. Maybe was on the phone to his agent... Seems Fox just doesn't rate him. A real pity as I thought he looked a player last season. Hopefully he can do well at The Falkirk Stadium (been a happy hunting ground for him before), and come back and prove his worth next season.
  11. Obviously no kit clash yesterday it turned out. Both wore green, but guess our 'mint' was fairly different to their 'courgette'. Game panned out pretty much as I'd expected. Well deserved victory against a fit and well organised side. Done a spot of hospitality yesterday so was there early and left late and was able to make a few observations that I ordinarily wouldn't be able to - Meekison - noticed him on the park by himself about half one making a fairly lengthy phonecall (his agent maybe?) Fair to say Fox doesn't rate him and he didn't even make the squad yesterday (took part in the warm down so not injured). Can see him looking for a move as he must be hacked off. Puzzles me as I thought he looked good towards the end of last season. Tony Watt - could barely lift his head up to wave to the kids when he took his seat on the bench as the second half started. Looked like he'd rather be anywhere other than Tannadice. Everything he done in warm up / warm down was half hearted. Conversely Niskanen, who until yesterday, hasn't been much game-time at all, put in an incredibly energetic warm down (seemed a bit at odds of the whole point of a warm down), and stayed behind himself for a solo sprint session. Then came into the lounge with Cudjoe to see the fans and couldn't have been nicer. Granted he'd have been told to, but it wasn't a chore for him in any way at all. Maybe not the best player in the world, but his attitude is first class. The polar opposite to Tony Watt.
  12. Everything does suggest so, but are we definitely wearing that new kit today? Just that Stirling Uni's kit is green and so would be a kit clash.
  13. If you have a grass pitch, to play in the Premier League, do you not need to have undersoil heating? And therefore that corner would have thawed out.
  14. Just home and more than a little peeved. However, no good reason why they can't re-schedule for next midweek presumably?
  15. Hearts (a) tickets sold out before I knew they were even on sale. Whatever happened to ST holders getting first dibs (granted the majority of those who got tickets will most likely be ST holders, but the point remains)
  16. Thought the first half was really good. Less so the second half and we were absolutely knackered as the game wore on. Surprised it took Fox so long to make even one change, but don't think that ultimately had a bearing on the result. Djoum excellent again, as they all were, particularly in that first half. Post WC it's hard to believe we're a side on relegation bother
  17. 100% One thing I've picked up on over the last year or two, is that when Utd fans, seemingly en-masse, (desperately need a CDM, Djoum is crap etc etc) form an opinion, it usually turns out to be bollocks.
  18. I think his reaction / celebration to his goal yesterday said as such. Also, Neil McCann would seem to be in the know with his "might just keep him at the club" comment on Sportscene
  19. Uneducated, doesn't go to the games, waffle
  20. I imagine Douglas Ross will be on the Jerry Kerr stand side - if he's on the George Fox side he's going to come in for some amount of abuse (probably even more than our own players). To be honest, as much as I endorse giving him an earful, I'd rather focus on the game once it starts. The whole thing might become a distraction. Could be an interesting afternoon...
  21. Will be a tougher game than a lot of people expect. They beat League 2 Albion Rovers away from home in the last round, beat 'moneybags', high flying Darvel a couple weeks ago and as you say, aside from the B team pish, would be top of their league. Would still expect United to win and would be surprised if we didn't but we'll need to work for it.
  22. A smiling Zelensky said yesterday this was the beginning of the end of the war. He might well be right - just not sure in what way.
  23. 1 - You're (of course) perfectly entitled to your opinion. All I'm suggesting is the team seems more productive with him in it 2 - Giving Ashgar the boot is not the magic wand that so many United fans seem to think it is. 3 - Quite agree. Certainly don't consider myself 'on-board' with Fox. I highly doubt he'll last the season
