  1. Ffs. He hasn’t kicked a ball for Scotland yet and he is getting a slagging. He is a young man who has chosen to play for Scotland. Applaud it and get behind him instead of pulling him down. If this is the sort of attitude he is going to face, I wouldn’t be surprised if he changed his mind and went to England and who would blame him.
  2. That should also be in petty things that annoy. Folk that say "haitch" rip ma fkn knitting.....
  3. Read "his bloody project" in one go on holiday. Outstanding. What a book!! Anything written by the Godfather of Tartan Noir (McIlvanney). The Laidlaw trilogy is crime writing at the highest level. I don't often go back to books, but I go back to these every so often. Docherty is a masterpiece, as is "The Kiln." His book of short stories , "walking wounded," offers an incisive view into working class Scottish life. I sat in a pub in Dalmellington recently and it reminded me of the gritty reality he was so adept at writing about. I wish he could have written more. His use of the English language could be breathtaking at times. One of the great Scottish writers.
  4. This. The deep cleaning Sh ite for any visitors. We were away in the caravan for a fortnight and my mum stayed in our house during the second week. My missus insisted we drive all the way back home the day before my mum arrived to deep clean the fkn house!! I threw the mother of all wobblers to no avail and stomped around hooovering and cleaning, which just pi ssed her off until we started snapping at one another. Every time someone visits, I'm up to me elbows with the bloody marigolds. Does my f kn head in....
  5. I live in the Galloway area and love the walking. The Rhinns of Kell is a long, tiring ridge walk( no hairy cliff stuff tho- large rounded hills) with stunning views across the Galloway range, over to Arran, Ayrshire and down to the Lake District. For such great walking, it is usually quiet. Apart from the Merrick, which is often busy, the other hills are usually empty. I have gone all day at times and never met another walker. There is great mountain biking in Glentrool and around Newton Stewart which is bringing people and money to the area. Galloway is an under-rated area with potential long days and some strenuous hills. Well worth a visit.
  6. My missus is a wee bit like that. Used to get a list of jobs cos I would be in the house all day after a night shift!! Ffs
  7. The missus. "Is a lunar eclipse when the sun goes in front of the moon?"
  8. Out for a walk on the beach. The missus says "when the tide goes out, where does the water go?"
