Realistically, if we're relying on Raith getting something from that game to scrape 4th, there's no point going into the play-offs anyway. Be as well not wasting a midweek and Saturday just to get spanked off Falkirk/Partick/QotS.

Now, if you had said " Morton/Partick/QotS", I would say -

    BRING IT ON!

Is that you justifying you slagging him off when he was manager?  I remember he had us playing attractive football, but due to results not always going our way, he left because of the AFTN Gestapo who always knew what was best?   They had no vision for the future, while Stevie Crawford did.  I don't blame him for leaving and it is good to see him getting some success at the Pars.  Also, quite pleased to see that AFTN hasn't survived, just like the Gestapo didn't either.

PS:  Apologies KK if you weren't one of those that slagged him off back in the day. emoji3.png

Red Dot for managing to achieve the "What a Load of Absolute Bollocks" award for this season!!!

Stevie got the job in April 2009 and resigned October 2010, he had to steady a sinking ship, which is what we were after the departure of Dave Baikie, Wullie Grey, his money and subsequently all our high profile players, who proved they were only there for the pay packet!!!

We skirted with relegation for the majority of that season as Stevie Crawford had to do the job with basically both hands tied behind his back, no money to replace the superstars who had left and having to battle with a team made up of young boys and some loan signings built around the likes of Jonny Smart, Bobby Linn and Div Muir. At no time during this was Crawford subject to any vilification or abuse, we all knew what sort of pressure he was under and this pressure was obviously having an effect on the guy this and this alone was what saw him resign his position, but what endeared him to the support was his desire to keep us in the Division, he didn't desert a sinking ship he still stayed on to help bail us out and he did just that!!!

He played possibly his best game for us in the final league game of his first season as manager, away to Arbroath, where his inspired performance gave us a 2-2 draw (goals from Linn and Muir putting us 2-1 up at one stage) and left the field, knackered to a standing ovation after giving his all and ensuring we left Gayfield with the point that kept us one point ahead of Arbroath who got relegated instead!!!

He resigned as Manager in October of the following season when again we were rooted in the relegation zone for the same reasons as the previous season but as I've said before he didn't just say "f**k this", he stayed as a player and coach under John Robertson until January 2011 when he was pinched in the transfer window by Cowdenbeath and the desire to be reunited with his mentor Jimmy Nicholl and mate Colin Cameron to form a "Dream Team" (wonder what happened with that???) That is the reason he left and no amount of revisionism by you will change that!!!

    This Escalated quickly!!

To be fair nothing KK said was unfair on Crawford, he was at the time a bad manager, all be it in very bad conditions surrounding the club (there were worse years than his that followed) but i always thought the same as KK, SC didnt just throw the towel in, he stayed and tried to help the team, says a lot about his commitment to the club, which as a fan i appreciated, and is why i am glad to see him get some short tem success just now with dunfermline.

That being said the 'AFTN gestapo' you describe i think were probably about 30% real fans frustrated a the way the club was going at the time, and around 70% wind up merchants, the internet is a crazy place for keyboard gangsters. I do remember the old AFTN message board being criticised by players for being to harsh, but if you look at any fans message board after a bad result you would find similar.

What a Load of Absolute Bollocks

Of course it's alright to criticise, but that post from the resident fantasist had Crawford down as a marked man who was pilloried from his position by a rabid mob with pitchforks and torches!!!
To totally invent situations and conflicts where none existed isn't ok!!!

It is your inventions that are flawed KK,  Crawford was hounded out of the managers job by a certain section of  fans.  It is still happening at games now.  Even with the relative success the team has had this season, if a result is not positive, booing often results.

Touched a nerve there eh?  Truth hurts sometimes.

Big response Liam! I felt the rant!!!
I think clubs normally try and give a rough timescale on players injuries, updates on how they're recovering etc? The rest of your points I fully agree with!!

Don't think so Doug.  Maybe the top clubs, but not many of the lower league clubs do that.

  7. 3 hours ago, fatdoug1938 said:

Not been the best communication between the club and the fans on the injury news. Any knowledge of timescales?!

Communication like that to the fans is also communication to the opposition.  Also, as the injuries happened on Saturday, then playing again on Tuesday it doesn't exactly come up as a priority 'to do' task, I would imagine?

I would have thought so myself, but he did pick up more than a handful of games at Bayview. Didn't he go 600 minutes without conceding at some point?

Ryan is an excellent shot stopper, but his main weakness along with (if we are honest) lots of other goalies and defenders, is at corners and similar set pieces.  I think he will be ok and will do a good job for you.

What do you mean by "held accountable"?

Is them admitting they were wrong enough?

Do you want them sacked and replaced?

What happens if their replacements make mistakes too? Another fresh batch of refs on order?

There is no good outcome to getting refs to explain things in the press or in statements afterwards, fans will never get "closure" on incidents because they will have their opinions on things and that won't change because the ref says he saw it differently.

What do you think about the badge East Fife have BF?

  10. If you do get clappers or drums or anything else that makes ungodly noises, then please you warn us opposing supporters so we know not to come to Gayfield.  Don't be like that tosser at Peterhead who bangs on the advertisement board behind the goals for 90 minutes, that is pure torture and hence why I will never be back there again.  So if you want to lower your crowds, crack on boys!

Well that we,ll never know as we dont  know who the club approached or who actually applied.Personally McGlynn wouldnt have been top of my list

Lets not go down the route of judging McGlynn 100% on his own squad next season?Hes inherited what is/ should be a good enough squad to do better than they are ut plainly are not so read into that what you want

I think I'm reading that you think your team are shite and so is your manager?

On an entirely separate note, and I've mentioned before, can the club PLEASE put something out that allows those like that live in Glesga amongst other far out regions to put money into the club a la Hertz FC? I'd happily have £20 or whatever going to EF out my account each month as I can't attend the home games. Surely can't be that hard to sort oot? Get it advertised min!

Can you not just phone the club office and ask for bank transfer details?  Whether you live in Glesca, Methil or maybe even Timbuktu, you will have to put money in via a bank transfer.  What is so difficult in doing that??  It is so obvious?

Suggested this months ago but nothing ever came of it.

EFTV interview all directors who explain their role at EF, and what we as fans can do to help the club

The Chairman gives an overview of where the club is.

These interviews would the be reported in the local and national press.

Are you ever at Bayview?  If you are, then you will see the directors in action, sorting out hospitality, safety, EFTV, etc, etc

Don't forget how they have turned the club around since the Lee Murray days.  You have a cheek asking them to explain what their roles are at the club.

I'm a fan and give what I can in sponsorship by contacting the club myself.  Managers fund, buying season tickets, buying programmes, entering main sponsors draw, buying various other raffles that are held, are obvious ways for fans to help the club, based on what they can personally afford.

Last I saw, the club is 3rd top in SPFL1.  If I were to become a shareholder, then I would be privy to the financial state of the club.

The club has a website, so what's the point of local and national press reporting?  For a start the local and national press decide what goes in their papers and when was the last time you have read of other club's directors roles in  their respective clubs?

Get real Sammy.  The best way for fans to help the club, is by going to matches, and encourage others to do likewise.

There was 371 at our match v Brechin @ the Glebe last Sat.

We had 670 at home v Arbroath the other week, we were selling 400-500 season tickets in The Championship, this season we're around 300 odd.

    It's a League-wide problem.

The fitba on show is shite tbh & I pick and choose my games now, as spending £30-£50 on a day out at the football is very hard to justify.

Over to you Sammy, think of something else to stir it up.  Your latest go has just been blown out of the water.

Your statement - "How on earth can  a club continue to operate at this level,  with a home crowd of 425?" should be replaced by -

"How on earth can a club continue to operate at this level, with fans like me (Sammytroot) looking for any way they can to slag off the club and make me (the know-all Sammytroot) look as if I know everything about running a football club?"

Looks to me as if the fans that go onto forums to continually have a go and discredit players, managers, directors etc, etc, etc must start to get a life.

Sorry, but in these days of "a handful of people talking between themselves on forums, hinking they are talking fur every other fitba fan", are so boring.

If you saw that then you would have seen that yes I don't dig around in it as I read any new reports as they emerge as I also said that the front page has links to any news stories (as does the social media accounts) and I also said that I didn't recall seeing one there for the article in question, then I decided that all of that was probably redundant, as the original post to Liam explained all that, as any idiot could see and so I edited my answer!!!

Don't pick and choose from now nonexistent posts in vain attempts to give nonexistent credence to your own points mate!!!

And answer the questions, do you buy the EFM and stirring what exactly!!!

You are telling porkies KK.  You never said anything of the sort in the post you deleted.  Bye!  I have a life away from P&B fortunately, so tell your mate Stevo that I do have a life, unlike himself!  Check some of his posts which are all about himself and how he feels and what he is going to do and not going to do depending on what an East Fife result is - very tiresome.
