  1. As you have alluded to, Ferguson, Maguire, Turnbull, Scott and now Mbulu are all reserve team players. So we are carrying a first-team squad of twenty-three players.
  2. Interesting wrinkle in the English transfer window - teams outside the Premiership can still take players on loan, and can still "loan to buy," after the window shut yesterday. Here's an example at Wigan - Lee Evans, loaned until Jan 1, will be registered on a two and a half year deal at that date. https://www.wiganathletic.com/news/2018/august/wigan-athletic-confirm-the-loan-signing-of-lee-evans-from-sheffield-united-to-be-made-permanent-on-1-january/ I'm not sure if this is a domestic only policy, or if English teams can come into the Scottish market to loan or loan to buy.
  3. Windass to Wigan, somewhere around £2 million plus, John to Swansea, £800,000. I wonder if that £800,000 will make it's way to us for Cadden?
  4. Alan Nixon just tweeted he's coming back to us on loan. Bury fans moaning it's only a loan and they are having to cover some of his wages.
  5. The words Tom Aldred & St Mirren are being bandied about on Twitter. https://twitter.com/Carslaw98
  6. What's that you were saying about not stalking people online?
  7. Short of Rangers being liquidated and not reapplying for a league place, ie - going totally out of existence, we are guaranteed the money under the football debt regulation. I can't see Rangers folding in the next twelve months. And I certainly can't see then going totally out of existence.
  8. It depends how much I've had to drink. Setting aside the potential structured transfer fee for Cadden, we lose control of the sell-on percentage if he signs for someone under freedom of contract/development fee regulations. £550k up front, £300k next year, plus double-digit sell-on clause? Do the deal.
  9. Docherty is pegged for a years loan to an English side. The deal you are suggesting would be a cracking bit of business. Docherty and Campbell in the same midfield would run teams ragged. STV reporting that McGinn is undergoing a medical with Villa, and Lennon is quoted saying "Villa are in the driving seat." I'm watching some meltdowns by Celtic fans already, they're disgusted that a player they rate and who is "sellic minded," has been lost because of the board low-balling. I'm bringing up McGinn again as I feel his transfer will have a knock-on effect. This double window idea is interesting for the Scottish clubs. They can bank money with the certainty of knowing they have three weeks to replace players, and that three weeks will be in a non-competitive market. Knowing the SPFL, they'll take a brainstorm and follow the new English window from next season, that's how inept they are,
  10. Though doth protest too much. I would say two. Unfortunately, Hartley is now on the fragile list. Bad enough with him struggling for fitness, we're gonna be in trouble if he breaks down. On other unrelated and totally speculative matters, Hibs fans are spending the McGinn money already. The majority would love to see Mulumbu at the club, other names mentioned are Cadden and Campbell, with a couple of wags ( rightfully ) pointing out that our support would go into meltdown if we sold them, Campbell. Would we meltdown if Cadden went there? Don't think so, if the money was right. @justsayin'
  11. 'Well want to bring someone in to anchor their midfield? https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/3033010/motherwell-hearts-ross-callachan/ This is heading towards Alice in Wonderland territory.
  12. The Sun reporting we are "tracking," Hearts midfielder Ross Callachan.
  13. We better hope none of our matches clash with Wigan's this year. Forkin' bad enough with all those fanboys going to watch Moult at PNE.
  14. I've never been a fan of sign one day, play the next. It smacks of desperation. Cedric hasn't had a single training session with his defensive colleagues. And on top of that, his head will be spinning with the move. Anyway, the Wigan strip must be one of the ugliest I've seen for a while. Horrendous.
  15. It's gonna be a one-sided match cos I genuinely don't read his replies. I want to enjoy life.
  16. Ya'll need to calm down. We started last season with a defeat to Rangers and a meltdown v St Johnstone. We took one point from Hibs last year. We knew Kipre was a goner. The received wisdom was that he, Carson and Cadden would leave this summer. The wailing and gnashing is pathetic. Martin Foyle has been superb for us. The emergency signing of Aldred being a prime example. Foyle and SR will easily replace Kipre with an efficient centre half. Maybe not an iconic centre half, but defo efficient and effective. We have a month to find that replacement. So what if we lose on Sunday. The million quid plus is far more important to the club than points tomorrow. Calm Doon. @Ya Bezzer! Don't bother quoting me. I don't read your replies. I take you as seriously as Mr 15,000 posts who doesn't attend games. You are both kings of worthless opinions.
  17. The meltdown at the other place is a joy to behold. I miss trolling that place
  18. Feeling sensitive, are you? I thought I gave you a compliment. Get a voice coach, though.
  19. To clarify, Wigan are relatively "skint." They are motivated buyers for clubs willing to do creative deals.
  20. I heard a rumour........... And no doubt that fountain of knowledge, Busta, will hear this too ( he's got the dronesy voice from hell, but he's not bad ). Burrows jaw dropped when Wigan accepted his sell-on clause. And I wouldn't be shocked if they came back in for Cadden under the same terms. Just a rumour, mind.
  21. Re the debt, I'm pretty sure the Well Society said we owed Les £900,000 and they reckoned it would be £700,000 by the years' end. The last debt I noted owed to JB was £300,000, and that was a while ago. I reckon this transfer should see JB paid off as I'm pretty sure that £300,000 figure was prior to Heneghan moving, and prior to Johnson's move to M'Borough. If Cadden goes this window for the £600,000 plus figure ( which is the least the club will accept for him due to his development value ) then that will see us effectively debt free. I'm relaxed about losing any players just now - we will have an additional three weeks of shopping available to us after the English transfer deadline at 5.00 p.m. next Thursday. A happy side effect of that is we won't be competing for players with English clubs, so it should make things easier for us.
