  1. I bet you he would've made sure we didnae bin the academy thats for sure.
  2. I'd have defo taken him back. I just didnt think he was ready for the top flight yet.
  3. Challenge cup semis always used to be a midweek fixture and should've stayed that way. A load of pish getting a fixture changed that means you have to head up to the arse end of beyond on a Tuesday night. Thats why these cants were in the highland league in the first place.
  4. I'll admit that I thought he would struggle too. His finishing when he was with us was pretty dire at times although he had a fantastic work rate . He's obviously improved that area of his game since he left us though.
  5. He's just a shit ref thats all. Has also gifted Celtic some truly terrible decisions too.
  6. Number of these guys are now able to produce the solid no nonsense performances we need to get us out of this hole. Osman better yesterday . Not sure whether that was due to match fitness or having paton in there too. Cant help feeling we wouldve picked up more points over the previous two games with paton and dkd starting. Petra has the physical attributes to be a decent player. Needs a bit of decent coaching though to polish those rough edges. He's a decent option in our current situation. Who knows what will happen next season if we manage to stay up and are looking at winning leagues instead of survival.
  7. Guys done well the last two games hes come on. Was due a start.
  8. I think if he sticks the right 11 on the park we'll be ok. Defence should be solid if unspectacular with mcghee and dixon at full back. Keeper looks excellent. Need to get paton in beside mcshane and Dkd needs to start instead of mclean . Loads of options up front with lavery and rudden as the runners and jarvis and todorov as the physical men. Lots more options on the bench with mclean, petra etc.
  9. Has there actually ever been any previous examples of clubs taking other clubs to court over this. Cant think of any off hand.
  10. I dont see how he can be a panic signing if weve been watching him throughout the transfer window.
  11. Big lad at least. Hopefully the physical presence we need.
  12. It is the same arguement. You said we were acting dubiously. We were just doing the same thing every other club does but badly and we got caught whilst everyone else manages to get away with it by not being so bloody stupid. If you stupidly speed when the cops are there or a camera u get caught.
  13. We just acted the same way as every other fitba club but we werent as good at covering it up unfortunately.
  14. Does this not put it in that area: Accordingly, we consider that the appropriate range for an immediate financial penalty should be in the general range of the basic figure for the contract of Mr McKinnon, on an annual basis, which net would be in the region of £40,000, and we consider that to be an appropriate figure.
  15. Your chairman still comes out of it as a right twat. Signing guys up on contracts with no compensation or notice periods detailed.
  16. United did exactly what we did except instead of whining to the league at the time we took the compensation on offer and moved on. If the morton chairman hadnt come out with some ridiculous compo wish of 100k for a guy on a 40k 1 year contract who no longer wishes to be there then a nominal fee for compensation would've been agreed and this wouldnt have dragged on and on.
  17. Is it not just a report on what happens day in day out when it comes to football and players and managers? Agent makes team aware that client would be interested in being their manager. Team asks what contract manager is on. Team have a chat and make the decision that they would like said manager. Team tell said managers agent that they would be interested. Team then phone managers chairman and ask for permission to speak to manager. Chairman pulls a ridiculous number out of his head in terms of compensation to speak to manager. Team laugh at that number and tell managers agent they arent paying anything like that and that if the manager wants to come to falkirk he'll have to resign. Manager complains to chairman that he wants to speak to falkirk. Chairman ludicrously gives the manager right to speak to falkirk but not about terms of the job etc( what the feck is all that about) . Manager resigns and moves to Falkirk. Now normally at this stage some form of sensible compensation would be worked out between the clubs but instead Morton decide to go to the SPFL and start greeting which has ended up with them getting absolutely nowt instead of a sensible sum for breaking a years employment . I don't think we've done anything much different from most apart from maybe not asking for permission to speak to the backroom staff perhaps.
  18. The whole thing would've been over far quicker No I for one would far prefer the cash going to some SPFL trust than one of the other sides in our league so would be more inclined to go about it this way than the other. Morton would've probably come out of this with a few quid if your chairman had simply said aye give us 40k and you can have him instead of the way he handled it.
  19. No real deterrant though as we'd have probably had to pay something in that region as a reasonable sum for compensation anyway.
  20. Was bad enough he was shit but the fact he was replacing Stokes made it even worse.
  21. Was off for months with ear ache if I remember correctly. Clown shoes pressley kept on re-signing him even though he was always injured and shit when he wasnt.
