I applaud the effort being made by those left at Selkirk in their efforts to continue
But will be interesting to see how many of those players stay after their visit to Kelty
Lowland League Board Statement: Selkirk FC
News
04/08/2018 By Michael Park
The board of the Lowland League would like to take this opportunity to clarify their position regarding forthcoming fixtures for Selkirk FC.
It is expected that the club will fulfil their scheduled fixture against Civil Service Strollers on Wednesday (8th August) and all subsequent Lowland League fixtures. A further statement will be issued after further consultation between the Lowland League board and the officials of Selkirk FC.
I do not see how filling a team with Freebie loan players results in any benefit for any club ( including Selkirk )
Surely its not fair on other teams to play a higher quality Selkirk team when others did not
just my opinion
I agree with the sentiment but other teams wait till they get players in ( loans etc) and when their stronger they will decide to play ?
So next its ,,,,sorry we are missing 5 players who are injured and on holiday can we just miss a few weeks ?
Sad state of affairs but sometimes living beyond your means catches up eventually ?
IMO if possible moving to EOS as option now as their league has not started yet
Delaying games would not be an option as other teams would be discriminated by this ( can we wait till we have a strong 11 players to play later ! )
Therefore option s
1.Continue as is (despite the drubbings and hope it improves )
2.Fold - re enter EOS next season
3.Move to EOS ( if allowed ) now
4. ?
Well done Stirling 2-0 up with ten minutes to play but Spartans scraped a draw in the end
Not the start Spartans wanted (or expected ) after their pre season etc
Is this the worst result on opening day in the Lowland League ?
Very worrying for Selkirk but its only 1 result , need to pick up in the next few matches
Have to say i presumed given the Hype surrounding Kelty they would ease to victory in this given that D Star are mentioned as relegation candidates but shows that teams are no pushovers on the day
All makes for a good league though
