  1. I just had a look at this. I don't think Kriss comes out that very well, he completely misunderstood the one point where Zizek directly responded to him.
  2. That makes no sense. It is still grant money to an arms company. The idea that Raytheon (turnover $25 billion) are going to diversify away from arms production because of a £185,000 grant is ridiculous. You might as well give Coca Cola ten grand to diversify away from sugar. On a more serious note it's time for a serious cross party effort at Westminster on Yemen.
  3. It's always nice to get a pat on the head from a plutocrat.
  4. Golfers, you've really lost the plot Have you ever flown over Surrey? It's just golf courses, swimming pools and Tory MPs.
  5. Zizek thinks that Peterson is a moron. https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/jordan-peterson-clinical-psychologist-canada-popularity-convincing-why-left-wing-alt-right-cathy-a8208301.html http://thephilosophicalsalon.com/a-reply-to-my-critics-concerning-an-engagement-with-jordan-peterson/ Sadly Peterson will never debate anyone who has actually read the authors he kids on he's an expert on.
  6. Pensioners, BTL landlords, bankers, people who are counting down the minutes until their relatives die and they get an inheritance, racists, farmers, god botherers, people who queue up to look at the royal family, golfers and just general wankers love the Tories. That's a good chunk of the electorate who will vote for them come what may.
  7. I saw this which is quite interesting Yougov are a joke.
  8. In 2014 the white paper was ambitious and progressive. The Wilson commission guarantees long term austerity.
  9. What part do you think is trolling? The Wilson Commission is a suicide note for the independence movement. The SNP conference will make things a lot a clearer but I think it's already obvious that the SNP have no interest another referendum.
  10. That's just a pile of lies and distortion. The speech about migrant workers referred to posted workers. FBPE melts went into uproar about it. The EU announced a wee bit later that they were going to crack down on abuse of posted workers. FBPE melts were strangely silent. https://www.euractiv.com/section/economy-jobs/news/european-parliament-votes-in-favour-of-the-revision-on-posted-workers/ Corbyn can't change the Trident policy. Labour plans to reform the HoL. The "anti Dutch video" simply highlighted the absurdity of another government running our railways. The Homes Affairs Select committee report found that Labour has lower levels of prejudice than other parties. As for supporting Brexit and the Union they are mainstream opinions which won referendums. It's hardly controversial. Anyone who doesn't want to see Scotland turn into the Greece of the north should oppose independence under the Wilson austerity plan.
  11. Labour are at least offering a clear program to repair the damage done by neoliberalism. Do you think that the hundreds of thousands of people who have joined Labour since 2015 are deluding themselves? That people in London, Manchester, Brighton and Bristol are so stupid that they haven't noticed the party they have joined is pointless?
  12. Pretty much everyone you see on the BBC speaking up for right wing policies is on the pay roll of some sort of think tank or pressure group.
  13. I've just seen that Greece has agreed to deliver a constant budget surplus until 2060. That won't end well.
  14. Is anyone still struggling to understand what the point of Labour is?
  15. CNN seem to be pushing the issue due to hostility to Trump. Blairite MPs Blairite MPs didn't back Emily Thornberry's motion to withdraw UK support to Saudi Arabia in 2016. https://evolvepolitics.com/heres-a-list-of-labour-mps-who-abstained-on-a-bill-to-withdraw-support-from-saudi-arabias-murderous-war-in-yemen/ Funnily enough all the anti semitism plotters are on there. Someone like might to ask Margaret Hodge if she thinks it's worse to be investigated by the Labour Party or bury 40 children.
  16. I'm not sure about Jewish voters but they did quite well with remainers at the last GE.
  17. Labour are really struggling with the key milionaire actor demographic at the moment. Eddie Marasan, Maureen Lipmann and now Patrick Stewart. The obvious is answer is to foget about the NHS and schools and focus on new tax cuts for making movies in the UK. Sex Lives of the Potato Men 2 please.
  18. Why? I'm just pointing out that the Labour MPs who voted for it or abstained will never be leader. Any leader will come from the group of 139 who voted against or new MPs who have a record of opposition. The SNP clearly supported the war in Lybia because they were rattled by the Meghari episode.
  19. I'm not who you say I am. I still don't understand why so many people think all the SNP MPs voting for war in Libya is funny?
  20. Even before he ruined himself with coke and kebabs Fury had a questionable chin. His punch resistance has to be worse now and if he has to lose more weight it'll get worse. Add that to carrying no power and you are talking about a HW Amir Khan,
  21. I don't think it was jumping to conclusions to think the AP report that is being carried by publications all over the world was accurate https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/aug/18/tyson-fury-confirms-deontay-wilder-fight-francesco-pianeta Saunders has been an idiot for a long time. The video of him and Kid Galahad harassing a random guy on the street in Sheffield this week was horrible.
  22. So the SNP voting to destroy Libya resulting in utter chaos and tens of thousands drowned is funny?
  23. Aye you are right. The AP reported "boy" but it was clearly bum.
  24. 254 Labour MPs voted for the Iraq War. 69 Abstained. None of them will be party leader in the future. Labour however have been reformed by the members and are now lead by a committed, lifelong anti imperialist. The SNP are still the same party who voted for the war in Libya.
