  1. Agree with squeezbox above. Players agreed their contract so don't get the unrest caused by any differences. where has this rumour actually came from.
  2. Even by our levels we are seeking a new level of negativity this easy in season. All the stuff about training ,unhappy played, losing the dressing room. think we need to settle down a bit. in terms of football I didn't think we were too bad yesterday considering the goals we lost.. you have to say they certainly kept going to the end. an issue would be that we rushed the 2 new signings in and probably played joe Thomson a bit out of position to begin with. we created more chances yesterday than we did in second half of last season away from home. again we missed a proper central defensive midfielder who could scrap for the ball a couple of our players seem short at this level in pettigrew and smith. I thought Todd showed as much as u have seen from him. 2 goals in injury time maybe papered cracks on what would have looked a whipping but I believe game wasn't 4.1 in terms of play. interesting to see how we build once squad full and players settle in . regarding all the other stuff going on .dont know anything about it and will leave it till facts come out rather than speculate
  3. Interesting to see where we look to build with the 5 signings. Today was a mixed bag of promise and despair. We should have been 4 up at half time and created lots of chances but our defending was poor in second half. im siding with those who view that Fraz is just about done and to be honest he gets no defensive support from Doc and they wer at fault for 2 of the goals. Again without saying he is the answer Donald showed enough to merit more game time than he gets and his support made Thomson more of a threat.I just hope that our pending signings don't send Donald off to the bench wilderness persoanlly thought Stirling was mom .he was great today.Need a lot lot more from smith and Todd. agree with others views that Stevenson is excellent on ball and good delivery. Get what was expected in terms of overall wrokrate busy week ahead for stevie
  4. Clearly we haven't used a squad effectivly in the 3 games and no reason to suggest we will change unless is to give a loaner a run. Stevies saying thing like there just kids and not ready baffles me a bit. Need some loanees this week I think it will that'll be an excuse at Dunfermline . Celtic increasing squad surely means Jamie Lindsay being available please
  5. I would echo what other have said. I thought our lack of a proper defensive minded player in the midfield was biggest problem today . Dundee upped game and we could organise to hold them out. pity 3rd goal came as a result of 2 bad ref decisions. Not a free kick and o dea should have been off minutes before for pulling Steve back a clear book able offence.losing that and 4th goal in a minute finished us. first half was full of positives compared to Tuesday. i must admit I'm not as optimistic about thommo as others. Certainly works a shift but without support lacks quality for championship and also he comes looking for ball when we really want him up there feeding off crosses etc. again for nature of game I don't think we utilised our subs properly. What happens if someone gets injured against Dunfermline??
  6. Waters at Alloa and brophy picked up games at Hamilton so neither would seem likeley . Would hope Lindsay would be in thought and if we could get Ryan hardie would cheer me up
  7. Stevie doesn't seem too bothered and looks like as predicted a couple of loanees will boost the squad. yet again Donald whilst we all accept is not the answer to our problems is certainly worth some more game time . Injects some pace and energy to our forward play. Our defending has been a worry and don't think defence has been helped by a complete lack of defensive strategy from our midfield set up. Oh so different from last years set ups where we would have defenders playing in midfield. I see this area as no 1 priiority. probably need Barr to recover soon. thommo might be left alone but I'm looking for more. Todd I thought showed enough to be encouraged as does Stirling. think I was wrong about smith and Falkirk fans were right.
  8. Pretty much ok today until the late positional changes as said by others. probable like most sons fans concerned with the volume and depth OS squad.i assume a couple of loanees as we have done in past seasons will be likely as doesn't seem to be any more signings on the radar. next Saturday is when the business really begins.
  9. Sorry the 2 Dev players I took as given that they will be there come start of season. Tatar scored a beauty but not sure I would sign him
  10. Barr has a knock I believe- heard last night so might no make it tonight either. I would expect those who had little game time to get more tonight In my opinion I don't think any of the trialists from Last night are worth signing although it is hard to judge on that game
  11. In keeping with previous pre season games not reading too much into it as game was there for a purpose. If the trialists were out to impress not sure any did enough Awful night to drag myself through to broadwood but done now and done nice goals eventually
  12. Happy with that one. As said before I liked him at Falkirk
  13. I would take him. Thought he was good against us
  14. I would expect at training we will have a few trialists involved even if just to make up numbers. No harm in this providing we are not duped into signing for the sake of it. Hopefully some promise out of it. Anyone know when where training is . Used to in past enjoy walking dog around the grove and watch pre season
  15. I believe the squad is going to be around 18 including any loanees . Becoming important that any more signings and loaners are meaningful . I m not wholly in favour of buying players who are average in a number of positions .Would rather sign specialist as we probs ly have enough who can cover. Forward and creative would be my priority but I'm sorry I don't have any ideas who . I assume we will have some trial it's a training this weekend.
  16. Good post above. I still have a feeling numbers may restrict anyone going out.
  17. You would expect loan club to pick up at least most of wages . I still think he is worthy of a place in our squad and more game time. Only time will tell
  18. Cheers for help. I just was thinking about all the recent players and very few have come back Note both are Gk where sub appearances are very restricted . I've heard stories that squad numbers are going to be reduced so may be all squad could be needed
  19. I'm not wholly in favour of loaning Donald out. If we don't want him in the squad we dhouldnt have signed him. Loans usually end your career at sons. Help needed has anyone who went on loan actually made a success when loan finished . I can't think of anyone .
  20. Reasonable common sense for our fixtures with only midweek game at home
  21. What's Ben Gordon going to st mirren got to do with our thread ?
  22. Yeah agree with above . Didn't command regular start recently in lower league so can't see how would benefit us. Must be others
  23. Yip let's assume stevie is taking stock after holiday and is waiting till remaining offers decide before moving bearing in mind 4 are regular defenders from last season. Their signings or not will direct any further additions
  24. Well done ranter change of subject. Too early on a bh to speculate about who we won't sign . Althea and Donna for the pop quiz
  25. Yip 2 saves from shay Well done big man
