Did we ever replace Stokes? What I'm saying is finding guys of that ability isn't easy and it's usually through the loan market. Even then it's all down to luck
Don't think it's fair to compare Lewis for Jak when it's not our choice that he isn't here this season. Also it's early to compare TOE with Sibbs but I can guarantee in some people's eyes he will never be as good as Sibbs was no matter what he does
I can only go on what I've seen from him. Reality is that he will most likely be playing RB this season. Hartley obviously thinks he can do a job there and decided against bringing another right back in
Now your just being an arse and twisting my words. There is a difference between carrying the ball out and going on a mazy run. I like McGhee but I wouldn't play him CB in a 4 man defence
Like I said earlier he can do that when he's in a 3 at the back like last year. You don't want one of your cb doing that when your playing a back 4. I'm not suggesting it's a negative that he's a technical footballer at all. I'm saying that if he still wants to wander forward then it's best he isn't playing CB in a back 4
I disagree with McGhee at centre back. Personally I think he'd be a liability due to his liking to run out with the ball. You can do that in a 3 man defence but not if your playing 2 at CB. For me RB will be his best position for us as it lets him get forward
[emoji23] I agree but I want to see more of the partnerships we already have. Would like to see lewis/Haber, Mackin/Lewis and Haber/Mackin to see what we really have up top. My biggest gripe as we don't really know what we have up top already
I think there may be 1 more especially if we offload the likes of Harris, sheps and McKee. Problem I have is I don't know what position we'd really need another player in for
The problem with Petra is we're not playing to his strengths. We should be looking to get him the ball early so he can knock it past players and beat them for pace. The other option is to try get the ball over the top quickly for him to run onto. Far too many times today they had 8 guys along the 18 yarder and he got the ball with nowhere to utilise his pace. He was shite though
Think we need to keep Paton in there. Didn't think he played that bad and gives a bit of dig that I think we would miss if he wasn't there. Irving for me looks our best cm based on his performance today. Thought the full back 4 were quite poor today but they didn't cost us the game when you think about it. I would say we matched Inverness and a draw would have been a fair result. Inverness have mostly the same team that was performing well at the end of last season and they didn't look that great. We showed improvement again so hopefully that continues. If Hartley deemed Greenwood to be fit enough I think he would've started. It's possible that Hartley isn't getting to play the style/formation due to injuries. Mackin may have started today and I think he would've played Brough too Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
He played a 4231 today. Not great but Inverness weren't up to much either. Irving was a stand out for me, class act on the ball Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
I didn't say any of the things you've said. I think he's unfit and once he's fit he will be an option. He will never track back and that's evident. He is an attacking mid which like you say is a luxury but he could be effective if the formation suits his style of play. Until then I think we'll see the odd cameo from him in the last 20 minutes here and there
The problem these players have is they wouldn't be at the same fitness levels as full time players and then they go on holiday and enjoy themselves so by the time they come back for pre season they're a mile behind the other guys
Froxy looks a player but I also agree he doesn't look like he is fit. Remember it took Austin a while to get up to speed when going from part time to full time
Froxy may have picked up a knock for all we know. Or maybe Hartley wants him fitter than he is. Unfortunately players have to be dropped to bring two into it
