  1. Early days, plenty of time to get next season sorted out. We haven't got certainty in which league we will be in. I'd say we are ahead of schedule in preparation for next season. I do agree that I'd like Geeks signed up though. I'm sure he can still do a job for us next season.
  2. It was better than Tuesday but not by a huge amount. The inside out wingers early didn't work at all and I was relieved to see them switch sides. East Fife were probably the vest footballing side I've seen come to forthbank this season and thought they played pretty well in patches. We look a tired team and I'm impressed with their resilience in continuing to pick up points. Given the Dumbarton result, its a good result for us. Another point closer. Couple of great finishes, especially the second. Looking forward to Tuesday now
  3. Yeah I forgot to say that it was unusual to see wc lost for words...
  4. If we play like the other night then it won't go well. Not sure we've had a comfortable game in weeks. sounds like the defence is all a bit banged up and its not like we are awash with fresh options. Its been impressive how they've kept this run going despite all the midweek games. let's hope we can do it again. Mon the binos
  5. Likewise. The substitutions only seemed to make things worse tonight. Banner for Carrick was obviously an attempt to shore things up but it seemed Elgin had even more space After the last 3 changes there seemed to be no shape at all and it was just desperate hanging on. Winning these kind of games is what wins championships though. Great to see another really good crowd for a Tuesday night and even better to have fhe 3 points.
  6. Well that was all pretty ugly but all 3 points count the same. Blair currie certainly earned us the win tonight. I don't think I've ever seen the ball spend so much h time in the air.
  7. I'd probably agree that Jack is trying to do too much a lot of the time. One minute he's trying to take the ball off the centre halves and the next he's running beyond the strikers. The miskick that led to the second goal looked like a tired attempt. Then you have the flip side wifh the two great corners. Balance in the midfield definitely can be an issue. We left huge holes at times on Saturday
  8. That's a pretty fair summary of the game. The shaky defence isn't a new thing for us. That's been a common thing especially recently. We are attempting to play it around at the back and Cummins in particular I think struggles with that at times. His first touch gives me the fear. I can only see it being a close run thing. We are so clearly the best 2 teams in the league.
  9. Felt we played the better football overall but again massively sloppy at times. Never expected anything than dumbarton showing up a better side than last week. The high boot looked pretty bad from the admittedly poor view I had of it. Thought we really shot ourselves in rhe foot at times with slack passing and poor marking. Two lovely deliveries for the goals. The desire to play out from the back is admirable and we got a lotnof joy out of it but it didn't half lead to some heart stopping moments at times. Dumbarton were as physical a side as any we've seen this season. The last few games, its been unreal how much teams are time wasting against us from early on Feels like a couple of points dropped but I'm sure there's still plenty drama to come
  10. Second half much better than first. Great to see such a decent crowd on a Tuesday night. Good to see Dale rewarded for a really hard working performance. Subs really made a difference last night. Having something on the bench is a real advantage. Saturday a huge game now.
  11. Great end to a pretty awful game. Thought we were pretty sloppy and it was far from a vintage performance. Prefer Duffy at left back. He's got pretty good positional sense for a youngster and covers well. The goal was a nice reward. Didn't work with Dale up front by himself. He works super hard at it but it limits his effectiveness. We looked a different side when Thomson appeared. Last minute goals and winning when not playing well is the mark of champions you know.
  12. It was great to see a half decent crowd. The atmosphere is much better with a full stand. There was some decent football in patches. Some of the one touch interplay between Carrick, Thomson and Fotheringham was excellent. Didn't always come off but really hekped open things up when it did. Nicely worked goal with a great finish. Agree that it wasn't entirely comfortable and these are the sort of games you have to find a way to win. Hopefully they cam keep this decent run going.
  13. The above is great to see. Let's hope we see a couple of them in a few years time.
  14. Agree with most of what's been said. We struggled to hold the ball up even before the red card. Scrappy game but apart from getting the red card correct, the ref had a bit of a shocker. some utterly incomprehensible decisions today. Question the decision to leave the subs so late. there were a lot of heavy legs out there for a long time second half.
  15. Agreed, getting either back would be a bonus.
  16. We welcome Annan to Forthbank on Saturday. Hopefully the recent good run of home form can continue. Presume Thomson will be suspended after the red card last week so will be interesting to see how we cope in his absence. Prediction Stirling 3 Annan 0
  17. The vast majority of us want no involvement in any of it and really just want to see a decent team on the park. I don't think that's anything to be ashamed of.
  18. Your uncle is a cat? Most sensible thing on here today. I'm not sure why we are making ourselves look like an amateur outfit on a public forum. 43 pages of this......... wow.
  19. Agreed. Calmer heads are required. Whatever has gone before doesn't justify the scorched earth approach. There has to be some sort of a compromise found or the consequences could be dire.
  20. What an absolute sh!tshow. I'd rather be commenting on the so far slightly underwhelming recruitment and getting overly worked up about bad pre season results. I don't know where the blame lies and I really don't have the desire to get involved. The relationship between the two boards seems to veer between hostile or non existent which doesn't bode well for any positive resolution. Instead of hiding behind obvious holes in the articles of association, this needs both sides to show a wee bit of common sense, get round a table and resolve the differences. Unfortunately, it's hard to see how we get to that point.
  21. I'm not convinced that unrest behind the scenes is a major factor in signings or lack of. Doesn't seem like our recruitment is that different to the other teams in the division. Not that it helps anything though. It would obviously be better if everyone was on the same page. I doubt it has a positive effect on season ticket renewals.
  22. The squad so far looks OK and a couple more decent signings we should be capable of a playoff challenge at least. But..... I think that every year before the inevitable disappointment. Its really going to come down to if DY can coach the team a bit better than the previous incumbents.
  23. The club has been a serial disappointment for years. Managerial appointments have all turned sour. We seem to accumulate what looks like a half decent squad of players for this level most seasons and then seem to chronically underachieve. A new manager comes in and the process is repeated. Other than having cash in the bank, it's hard to say how the board are doing a good job.
