It will have all been said but fair fucks to St Mirren, blew us away from the first second. Great backing from your fans behind the goal too, created a great atmosphere. Loved the ‘we’re on our way’ stuff - I think Dundee fans can well appreciate how you must be feeling, fookin fantastic.

Safe journey back to Glasgow lads and lassies.

LOVE THE FACT THAT THE DUNDEE FANS....MOSTLY...... OFFER GRACEFUL ADMIRATION, WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT IF THAT HAPPENED ......NOT ALL THE TIME, WOULDN'T OCCUR IN SCOTLAND........BUT JUST, NOW AND THEN.  KUDOS TO THE DUNDEE FANS.

There can't be too many of us left who remember Tony Connell at full back! Played with Cammy Murray as the other full back - another good player.

yes Cammy was a cousin to one of my pals, he really was a steady eddie, wee Kenny Aird and Jim Blair who also had talent.........ah when ah were a lad, he he

Ian Munro is the best Left Back I’ve ever seen for Saints. A joy to watch. Stood up at the top of the Love Street end a good few times so I could ,hopefully, get an idea of how he managed to make playing that position so easy. Or so it seemed to me. 👍Magnificent football player.

Tony Connell wasn't to bad either

they were behaving disgracefully at the Livi North train station, utter thugs. We were genuinely scared for our daughter who was getting off coming from Edinburgh, coupled with their behaviour after the game to some fans including a disabled Livi fan, I think its safe to say you have a problem.

One that needs addressing immediately before it gets further out of hand.

Its a reflection on you, your club and community, so I'd say step in and sort it out through whatever means possible...

    fair comment sir

Robinson will probably feel sheepish about the altercation tonight, but it makes me like him even more. Totally authentic and, in any walk of life, if your boss stands up for you like that then you'll want to run through a brick wall for them. That sets us up well for the run in.

I love having him as our manager!

yes, I agree, if I am honest; when first I heard that he was coming, overwhelming underwhelming, was my reaction, yet another mediocre incumbent for the St Mirren job............and we have had many of them; however, I stand corrected, and gladly so as he has shown clearly he has a talent and the charisma to do the job and to do it well, like others I find the outburst with the fan confirmation that he gives a damn.

Video of the question being asked:

If and it is a big if, Martindale was approached, he will seek assurances. Talks here about continuity.

This was a man for whom I really hadn't got a lot of time, due mainly to all of the negative sh*t about him that I read online, however ......my bad.......... because having listened to the man speaking about a variety of subjects/people, I have revised my opinion and concluded that I was clearly in the wrong, he comes across as a salt of the earth type guy, not the most eloquent speaker perhaps, but no dummy either and for sure he knows about fitba, so my apologies Mr Martindale.

My Brother lives in Dublin, has done for almost 30 years.  He gets to about 3-4 games a year. Costs him a pretty penny with Flights , occasionally Ferry , car hire etc .
He ( like all of our family ) have supported Saints all our lives through thick & thin. He has Shares in saints , is a SMISA member & has as much , if not more of a grasp of the goings on at our club than many others .
He is retired now after many years in senior management & work at Government level ,but  he doesn’t have a season ticket despite the fact that he could very easily afford one .

So does he qualify for your criteria of being a fan - or does the fact that he doesn’t have a season ticket & doesn’t live in Paisley disqualify him ?

    great point

I’m not one for singling out players for criticism especially goalkeepers which as we all know is a specialist position.

Given that Zak has been rewarded with a new contract by his parent club Middlesborough. I’m confident that he’s at a level where he will only get better.

All the keepers we’ve had in recent years have definitely benefited from Jamie Langfield’s coaching.
I have faith in Langfields ability to do a similar job with Zak.

    Fingers crossed.

well, I hope my feelings are way off the mark, will be glad to eat humble pie, agree entirely about Langfield who was a decent goalie but seems to be somewhat of a maestro as a coach.

That’s a quite ridiculous comparison given that both players are from a completely different era.

We had this clamour at the start of last season when Carson got off to a pretty shaky start. Folk were questioning him as first choice and that he was not of the same standard as Alnwick or Hladky.

Im confident Zak will prove you and many others wrong over the season.

I really would be pleased to be proven wrong, not going to debate why my views are what they are as I just posted a reply to Hendo, and you will no doubt read that, but I will challenge you on where is the relevance in the era that each player played/ plays in?  My concern isn't style, it's talent/ability and producing a consistent performance week in and week out, has no relevance to when they played.

There is no way you can compare Zach to Scrimgeour, he's light years ahead of him.

His balance sheet is even at the moment, could have lost us points with mistakes v Aberdeen and Killie but won us points with saves v Dundee and Hearts.

Personally, i'd prefer a more consistent keeper, as right now he's either brilliant or throws one in, but we need to back him as he is our number 1 and we've still not lost a game with him in the side.

I appreciate your points, but let me explain why he reminds me of Scrimigour. I used to attend virtually every game home and away, even reserve matches way back then and so got to see a lot of our ginger-haired goalie , who in my honest opinion was a good keeper occasionally, an okay keeper mostly, and a f**king disaster from time to time, unfortunately Hemming has replicated all three of these traits so far.  I appreciate he may settle down and become a steady eddy, we just have to wait and see.

Zak made a mistake for the goal. Last week his save from Devlin earned us 3 points. Why do people obsess with goalkeeping mistakes.

All keepers make mistakes from time to time, move on and focus on how good he’s been since coming in.

he has NOT been good he has been ok, he might have done reasonably well, but certainly not good, he is a goalkeeper, he is meant to be capable and he is that, just about in my opinion, reminds me of Scrimigor

People saying it’s dunne and hemming at fault. Yeah I’d say there to blame, but O Hara passes it short to dunne and should have just been playing straight back to hemming

purely the keeper's fault, all he had to do was catch the ball above the attacker's head....................should have been easy, got reservations about Hemming

It’s been great going to games this season involving Saints.

I watched both of the EPL Sky games today involving supposedly top class players and frankly the entertainment was fcuking dire.

Saints are having a great season and being realistic the city teams should be doing a number on us home and away but so far we are competing well against teams with larger resources.

There is a great squad mentality. Even the substitutes are involved in all the celebrations and Robbo and his staff have created a terrific environment for them all.

    COYS.

    PS - I fcuking love Gogic ❤️

Can anyone interpret his post match celebration dialogue?

Sorry, couldn't hear from behind the settee!!

yes, agree about Gogic, we should name him AFG, Ales FU**ING Gogic

Fair play to Saint's, you're a carbon copy of what we were when Robinson initially took us over. A mix of very decent play, good work ethic, and plenty of the tactical fouls and taking one for the team scenarios that utterly enrage the opposition support. All the stuff the fans love.

On the game and balance of play, we really should have taken a point and only have ourselves to blame through some poor finishing and decision making in the final 3rd. I've no doubt we'll be absolutely fine over the course of the season, but we really need our first choice forwards back ASAP.

In Turkey just now, so I'll head off now to drown my sorrows Efes.

well done you sir, an honest assessment, as to be fair is Kettlewells

    FT 0-1
What a win that is, superb stuff. I think we deserved it too, Motherwell did have some chances, but they’re just not very good in front of goal.
Unlike Scott Tanser, cross on the money from the right foot of right full back Strain, stuck in the net by the left foot of the left full back, poetry. That finish on the volley is absolute butter, made it look easy. Delighted for Tanser that he is the match winner, I think he’s been our best player so far this season, he’s brilliant.
Seen over 180 minutes of Motherwell over the past few weeks and I remain astounded they were sitting so high in the league before this game. They’re rubbish, couldn’t score in a brothel and shaky at the back too.  Looks like another tough season ahead for the Well Boiz, while they remain firmly on our mantelpiece, it’s just a shame we can’t play them every week. We got a great meltdown from their manager and fans after our cup win a few weeks ago, similar again, please.
Onwards for us, Hearts at home next week and then a cup quarter final at Easter Road. Why not win both.

certainly a St Mirren point of view and I am over the moon we won, as we should have according to the laws of the game, Sr Mirren 1 Motherwell 0, but as Stuart Kettlewell says, his team did play the better football, so calling them rubbish is churlish in the extreme.

St Mirren are far from Barcelona or Brazil 1970, especially at times under Gus MacPherson. Having said that, in recent times, there are two opposition sides I wouldn’t cross the road to watch, much less pay money to do so. Billy Reid’s Hamilton Accies and Martindale’s Livi.

    I’d rather watch cricket.

yes, me too and I bloody hate cricket, watching paint dry is marginally more exciting

Ffs. We knocked you out the league cup a few weeks ago. Are you still raging about that?

A historical fact. St Mirren were so highly thought of by Barcelona that we were invited to a tournament to open one of their stadiums. We were so damn good that we actually won the Barcelona Cup.

Next time you visit Paisley you should come and see the trophy as I don’t think you are old enough to remember 1991 as you were unlikely not even born.

In a couple of weeks we play Motherwell again. We look forward to it. Win lose or draw. It’s just a game.

    Good luck today.

Hopefully you win and go top of the league.

Then Hibs can come and steal your manager and coaching staff. 😂

I watched the Well game today, they outplayed Hearts all over the field and defended superbly, well done The Well, just don't be sooo good after the break.
