  1. horses for courses, Goodwin is a pragmatist and it will only cost the club IF they are promoted, sounds sensible to me
  2. i think you are deliberately missing my point which is that rationally if a cure is available for 99 of the 100 then surely if is worth the 1% failure rate
  3. how about 100 people have a terminal disease, which will prove fatal to all but with undefined timelines, then this new medicine has been developed, with just one slight flaw, due to some ..................unexplained circumstance, it always on testing has a 1% mortality rate, what would you do?
  4. Unfortunately Shaughnessey too would have been on a decent wage and while I liked him, he was getting found out more than he should have been, probably good timing to move two players who were not far away from becoming liabilities
  5. I take your point especially as my thoughts were similar, but the one particular thing that encourages me that perhaps I might be wrong, is he was always there or thereabouts, never hiding, so let's give the lad a chance, he did well on Saturday.
  6. all with good pass marks for me, remembering of course this is Arbroath, but looks like my views on the two front men were a match for our Elvis's positivity, very early days but will be more than pleased to be wrong.
  7. wow! impressed, unedifying on a St Mirren forum, never thought to see the day.
  8. did I not read that whoever it was, was a permanent signing, not a loan...................don't ask me where I read it? its just in my head that I did.
  9. well........................... if anybody would, it would be us for sure!
  10. methinks Basher, Yards, and Junior would be a sight for sore eyes at the moment, ah mean! Yardley's silky skills and stunning...... sorry stuttering pace would be handy right at this minute and Lavety of course would simply run through whoevers in his way, ah mean he would absolutely NOT waste; good pie eating energy, going around them. Joking aside, they were a good strike team for the buddies.
  11. only because Mandron did sod all to help Grieve, as I said already Kiltie for me is the only one of our players to get a pass mark, but Grieve comes close, Olysanyo will never be a regular in this team
  12. thinking about it, the aspect that concerns me most is how we kept pointing long cross-field balls ................way above and or beyond those who were intended to receive them........................again and again and again and................................
  13. the worrying thing is......................................................... so does Olysanya
  14. a lot of sense here, I think perhaps wages were an issue with Joe, I heard he was on decent money.............could be wrong, but it's what I heard., I like Grieve but he needs someone like Obika or Maine to play off/with, Madeon looked lost and Olysanya only looked better because at least he was injecting some pace, I have my doubts about both of them, let's hope the Israeli and the as yet unidentified new forward offer better options.
  15. have to disagree slightly, Grieve was trying with NO HELP from Mamdron, Kiltie gets a pass from me Grieve , not quiteand Olusanya only looked good because Mandron was clearly awful.
  16. hate having to agree, previous sights of him remind me of schoolboy football, he is fast and runs around chasing everything........as Obika also did, well he did same again today and looked way better than everyone else apart from Kiltie
  17. good luck to him if he does, he earned his wages with us, chased many a lost cause and according to the club, played through injuries to help the club out, not a superstar football player, but an honest grafter, give me a team of those with that attitude and I would be satisfied.
  18. if only the badge had been left alone it would be fine, but because it isn't then it ain't fine, a pink badge? yer having a larf.
  19. Your point is well made, but it would appear to me at least, that Carsons problems are self-inflicted, if I am honest, he is coming across as a billy big baws, who is not getting his own way, and from what little I have read and heard about our manager, he appears not to be someone who entertains that type of attitude. Now if I am wrong; then apologies and some series slices of humble pie will need to be consumed, (not for the first time either) but signing another goalie like Hemming would indicate to me there is a problem and if Carson wanted it sorted...............it would be.
  20. if his nickname was jinky and he had ginger locks........................ I know who might buy him.
  21. most realistic appraisel I have heard regarding the team and our NEW manager
  22. speak for yersell my friend, no way was a 1 million rated player going for zilch, now a straight swap for Jim Gardiner, I might believe.
