  1. I'm talking about the 6 weeks after football restarts (whenever that is) as we will have to wait on the Premier League finishing! Extended Challenge Cup anyone???
  2. Glad to see Leeann Dempster thinks the Premier League can complete the season. What do the 3 Divisions that her club voted to end do. You look after your own Leeann, we'll just fanny about for 6 weeks until you finish. Unbelievable!!!!
  3. Social distancing until the end of the year. No chance of football, even behind closed doors, this year.
  4. To be fair, with the state of the pitch at Central Park players should still be wearing pit boots
  5. What is a meaningless game? Every game I've been to I've wanted my team to win. I'm sure players and coaches are the same! Just because you can't win promotion or avoid relegation doesn't make a game meaningless! Games that involve teams not fighting for promotion or trying to avoid relegation tend to be more open with both teams going for it as there is less pressure on the team that loses!
  6. No objection to Kelty or Brora coming in but Brechin have to go first. That's what would have happened if the season finished. If Brechin had won the play-off then no lower league club would have been promoted Does fairness and sporting integrity only work one way?
  7. Good! Hopefully a decision then in the best interests of Scottish football as a whole and not just to save Hearts and Thistle from relegation!
  8. Great to see Queen's Park represented at the virtual table. Will bring reason and sense to what appears to be a predetermined outcome. Every time I see comments by Ann Budge these days they concern me. She wants a quick outcome "within 3 weeks" and also to address the "unfairness". I would suggest the current situation is unfortunate but not unfair as someone would have been relegated! Perhaps if Ms Budge had acted sooner in dismissing Craig Levin or appointed someone with a proven track record in Scottish football then they wouldn't be bottom of the league! At least there is one member of the working group with a track record of making big decisions at the right time!
  9. In the recent vote was the Premier League not 10-1 with one club not voting.
  10. Congratulations to Cove Rangers for winning the league. Ann Budge on the working party for league reconstruction so that's bound to be fair and impartial!!!!
  11. Disappointed with the statement from Edinburgh City. Obviously trying to exploit the situation to get themselves promotion by the back door! I have no problem with Cove going up as they were clearly the best team and would have gone up automatically as Champions. Edinburgh City would have finished 2nd but would have had to win the play-offs to go up. I believe Queen's Park would have made the play-offs and I would have fancied our chances. We had beaten Edinburgh City in our last 2 games and had strengthened our squad significantly since then. They talk about sporting integrity. Second place only gets you a play-off spot, not promotion. You do not deserve to exploit that for more!!!!
  12. I think they should televise the next SPFL board meeting. That will be as exciting as getting the footie back!
  13. Only one voted against in the Premier League. It must have been Hearts. I take it Rangers abstained.
  14. UEFA can't supercede UK employment law!!!! Any contract extensions would have to be mutually agreed with the player. Never going to happen!!!!
  15. It is the only sensible solution on the table. We can't null and void the season as that means clubs and the SPFL would be open to law suits to repay money. Why screw up next season and the sponsorship in place if you can potentially get back on track. I believe my team Queen's Park would have made the play-offs and would have had a great chance of winning them. Unfortunately there is no time or possibility of playing these. Time to put the good of football as a whole before my Club. We start next season in League 2. Let's win it!!!!!
  16. That's even worse!!!! The bottom 6 could be playing for nothing as someone could be gone by then!
  17. Seems the only sensible solution but do not want any league reconstruction. Both Brora and Kelty should not get in. 12 teams in our division would be too many. Teams would have 44 games and potential play offs as well. Would require more midweek games.
  18. In Scotland we can never identify the real problem and deal with it properly! We have the 2 richest clubs more interested in buying second rate foreigners in the hope that they will unearth one gem who they can then sell for ludicrous sums of money to clubs in Europe's top leagues. They also sign the best young players in Scotland, with no intention of giving them first team football. They want all the best young players but don't want to risk them in their first team hence the Colts solution. In summary, they buy second rate foreigners, sign all the best Scottish young players with no intention of giving them first team football. All their money goes abroad and Scottish young talent doesn't develop (and they wonder why our senior international side is crap!). Would the solution not be - stop the Old Firm (and all premier league clubs) from signing players under 21. If only lower league clubs can sign players under 21 then most of them will get first team football and competitive football. Once players reach 21 then premier league teams can buy them or pay training compensation to the lower league clubs and much needed money stays in the Scottish game and our young players get better.
  19. Hopefully the united response will be, why don't you pay HMRC the millions you owe them and have it invested in the NHS.
  20. Don't forget they are following a successful team that played open, attacking football. Under Ray and Laurie, we have brought in Ross MacLean and Craig Slater. Don't mean to go all Field of Dreams but if we give them an exciting team on the pitch, they will come!
