Do we have list of those in favour?

Basically Bonnyrigg Rose, Bo'ness United, Civil Service Strollers, Dalbeattie Star, and Edinburgh University are good guys

The rest are wanks, and that’s coming from someone who has always had a soft spot for Gala FR and VoL competing in that league and holding their own on their budgets after playing in the Borders when I was younger. They can rot with the rest of them now in my opinion

TBF calling them Sevco BSC in the replies is pretty lazy patter.

I’m all for a bit of banter, especially at the expense of BSC Alloa right now… but this coming from a team who voted FOR and from a guy who openly encouraged the move is a bit rich. He is just as bad for allowing it to happen!

They shouldn’t even be in the league anyway if there was any “ventilation” in the system…

  3. Absolute joke of a league!

Spent all summer talking about “ventilation” and “sporting integrity” then spent their time bullshitting clubs into accepting a meet n greet twice a season with a few nobodies in OF blazers.

They didn't even bother finding a sponsor and their outreach to fans of teams within their league is embarrassing for a tier 5 division.

As for this new, spectacular tv deal, it only applies to the type of person who calls a LL team their “wee team” and have OF tv subscriptions… like the muppets who run a few of the fake, plastic clubs that stink the place out.

  4. Zidane has played here a few times…

If he was in the French squad that unofficially opened the new Hampden in  1999/2000 time (0-2) then I saw him that night and of course the wonder goal vs Bayer Leverkusen in 2002 Champions League Final.

    What about the “real” Ronaldo?

It's not that messy. You've just mentioned 3 different relegations, and I don't imagine the Highland Pyramid is likely to look like it is now in a number of years. With there already being talk in the Juniors of a joint top league you might see that held off on. Being replaced by a Highland League 2 idea to take in all the new licenced clubs

It'll likely get codified eventually but kicking that can down the road for a bit is worth it to get the show on the road. Why would Clach choose the North Juniors anyway? I was wondering whether Fort would be better off choosing Tayside, they've got long trips wherever they choose, and the Midland League would go livid!  A lot shorter for them travelling to Lochee than Scourie for example.

I was just being facetious tbh, I can see it not being a problem by the time the circumstances come round… but we thought that about the WoS/EoS vs WL clubs fiasco and we all saw how much of a drama that turned into!

I know Clach have previous links to the NCL (running a ‘B’ team for a while) so I would be interesting to see what they chose… if it ever came to it. Genuinely hope it doesn’t btw, as much as I like a wee playful dig from time to time.

Doesn't look like the Spey boundary is going to be used for a relegated side.

That’ll be annoying when you have Fort William in the NCL, if/when Clach go down they choose the North Juniors then Nairn go down and choose the NCL… all a bit messy

Away to Bridge of Don Thistle, nice trip up to Aberdeen.

Hate to say it but it really isn’t. Probably the worst place I’ve ever been to watch a game of football. Take binoculars…

Think back row of Hampden but colder, with 20odd parents of the players sitting on their hands, eyes watching everything you do, dismay at the thought of shouting/boisterous celebration and throw in that it’s basically a glorified, council-run leisure centre so nothing to drink, no smoking and a pack of committee types enforcing every rule to the letter…

    0/10

Scoring 2 goals in the last 5 mins in the pitch black to pap them out the cup and falling over 3 rows of seats while celebrating…

    Priceless

Aberfoyle Rob Roy 5-6 Gartocharn in the Forth and Endrick League tonight.

Eaten alive by midges, but what a game! Amazing comeback from Garto, who were 4-0 down just before halftime.

That’s a proper amateur league pitch! Give me that over any 3G cages 😍

It's the way the rule has always been proposed. Since it was about those registered to Development teams, not just 2001s in general that for the most part would have been signed elsewhere if they intended to play football in 2020-21.

In which case complaining about another group of 2001s missing out rings a little hollow, and it seems to be more about the supposed competitive disadvantage.

Understandable but I think most established teams are already in groups together and the new, West teams are all together. There will be some discrepancies which really should’ve been discussed by the folk in charge before this stage. As you say, this was the original plan that everyone were told about months ago

  10. 47 minutes ago, FairWeatherFan said:

Unsurprisingly there's already some sniping as the extension only applies to those that had been registered early in the year.

Was that not the original agreement?

I did notice a few new teams bitching about it and wondered if they were even allowed to have overage (2001) players as they all would’ve been signed for this season, not last season.

I  am tbh, our most experienced players feking off and both pre season games cancelled with no others publicised yet.. The NCL's not so bad though, wee away trip to Orkney... :1eye

At least you’ll get 4 local derbies a season again.

Trips to Canal Park and the IRA (or wherever they’re playing)… the things dreams are made of 😳

Maybe i'm misremembering things but the LL/EoSFL were upfront from the beginning of February that there would be equal Conferences if they exceeded the numbers required for a single division.

That was out there publicly from the start, right through the notes of interest emails, the in person meeting, the wee PWG at Hampden, the application stage, and for a week or more after successful applicants became known.

So for 2+ months the SFA didn't once decide to say anything publicly on it, or reprimand the officials for representing it in such a way.

No different to this decision. It's been known about for months what the plan of action was for the season. Which came about after the request to make it an u21 league was rejected. All out in public for everyone to see with times there would have been contact with the SFA.

Either the LL are lying their way through things, and the SFA are sitting idly by allowing them to do it. Which makes them complicit. Or the SFA bureaucracy isn't that efficient.

I was always on the side of “the SFA are idiots and have made the LL look stupid” but after recent events and the frequency of these ‘misunderstandings’ you can’t blame folk for asking the question

A bit of deflection from the Lowland League here, I think.

    Wouldn’t be the first time…

First spinning the West clubs a story of everyone in equal conferences - top teams end up in a premier division.

Then talk about “ventilation” in the pyramid - chose not to relegate anyone and STILL only have ONE promotion spot for tier 6 clubs.

Harping on about sporting integrity - Allow 2 colts teams to enter tier 5 against the rules that were set out previously.

Telling under 20’s clubs and coaches that it would be ok to play 2001 boys this season - more bs that they’ll try to pin on the SFA rather than just being honest from the start.

Where is the line between ‘incompetent’ and ‘deceitful’?

  14. If Hearts can look after Harry Stone, and he can learn from Craig Gordon, he could be a shout in a few seasons. Heard some very high praise about him already but the next 3-4 seasons are crucial. We’ve heard all this hype before for it to turn to nothing and we all know what Hearts recent reputation is at looking after their prospects

  15. Rothie Rovers got accepted into the North Juniors. That was confirmed the season before so dunno if it counts.

Can’t see anymore coming in from the Midlands area anytime soon, apart from Bredalbane maybe
