5 free kicks is mad
Does this mean outwith free kicks we only scored 3 goals from outside the area.
That seems ridiculously low does it not?

Time to get over the Chris Cadden thing lads.
Absolutely. One of the rare missteps by The Thread.
Wasn't a big enough player to have this much fuss made about him. Did us a turn, moved on.
Comparisons of Campbell to John McGinn are also more than a stretch. Becoming part of a Premier League team is an outstanding achievement but he won't kick on at that level.
Anyway on to today.

I feel like last week Van Veen was the record holder for beating Dargo. Now this week he's joing record holder with Viduka?
Is there 2 separate records going on?

As far as "91" goes I think the point where we've completely fucking rinsed it has long since passed - there are only so many times and ways you can tell the story. So in that respect I'm fine with a nod to it being enough.
There was a period where (IMO) it felt like our defaulting to regular 91 revivals wasn't exactly healthy.
I know that the 91 team actually won something but I've always found it a bit weird that the club never seemed to celebrate other (arguably better) teams in quite the same way.
In saying that the Cup win came at exactly the right age for me in that I was young enough to be wide-eyed about it and football in general.
The fact that it happened pretty much on the cusp of the Modern Fitba' era and in a pre-internet/digital culture means it's really in that nostalgic sweet spot for me and my Xennial micro-generation.
But the celebrations of "91" helps show how strong and determined we always are as a club, forged in steel, putting Motherwell on the map, it's in our blood, always bouncing back, ready to be writing the next chapter.

Unless yer in the cooper now that's up the swanny now anaw.
Is it?
Also as much as the video looks nice I'm a bit fed up of the "we come from tough people, we make it through" mantra. Maybe that's just me but it's very dated.

I really shouldn't be surprised but to have no coverage of the Aberdeen and Hearts potential run for 3rd and ZERO relegation games covered just to cover dead rubber games sums up Scottish Football. Abysmal.

I think it probably depends on the airport and who's on duty, I doubt it's a hard and fast rule. Did your wife and kids get their passports stamped?
They did indeed.
We actually ended up near front of queue the way it ended up and went through the all passports queue as it was so short. The woman at the desk said next time don't bother just use EU one as they are travelling with me it's fine.

So the answer to this question was yes as an EU passport holder I can take wife and kids through the EU gates.
Result.

Thanks folks. First trip abroad since Brexit and Covid. Also first trip abroad with kids so it's fun fun fun!

Had a look online but couldn't find a definite answer so thought I'd check if anyone on here had done similar.
Heading to Portugal soon with wife and kids.
I'm traveling using my Irish (EU) passport. Wife doesn't have an Irish passport and kids are too young to apply for Irish Citizenship+ Passport (in time for this trip) so have UK passports as well.
So the question is can we travel in the EU Passport Queue coming and going to Portugal with the family travelling together? Or am I likely needing to wait in the Non-EU queue as some of us don't have EU passports?

Quite possible that he'll forever be in the squad and never actually make a cap at this stage now. Same for Zander Clarke.

The Rangers game is a free hit but if we punch above our weight and they have an off day we'll never have a better chance of beating them.

I didn't actually notice that the first time, but nonetheless as soon as Van Veen deliberately plays the ball (his second touch, not his first), that plays him onside. The rule about players whose momentum takes them off the pitch is interesting - my understanding is that both the Killie player and the Motherwell player would count as being on the goalline for the purposes of offside, meaning that he'd be onside anyway, but I personally think that rule makes zero sense.Thats the correct interpretation and why he's not offside.
The rule of player off the park being classed as on the edge of the park was to stop defenders stepping off the park and therefore playing a striker offside because no one was 'on the park.'

Of all the titbits to discuss today, chasing the game we put on (only) SOD, Aitchison and Slattery while ignoring Mckinstry, crankshaw, Tierney and Danzaki.
Can obviously say well done this time but it's a rather damning indictment on them...it's one thing not starting them, ignoring them when chasing a game late on suggests SK sees next to no use for them whatsoever.
I'd be surprised to see Tierney, Crankshaw or Danzaki playing at Premiership level after they leave us tbh.

“Stuart impressed the board, not only with how he has got the team going in the last two games against St Mirren and Hearts, but with his vision for the club,” Chairman Jim McMahon said.
Did they just replace Steven and St Johnstone from the August press release?
Seriously though I think it's the right move at this stage. A good start and hopefully continues into next season.

With Kettlewell, I can't see him seriously being considered unless he racks up about 12 points in next 6/7 matches. If he managed that we'd be on route to safety which would be fine.
Still don't see him taking it or wanting it permanently with the setup he has just now but then I didn't think Hammell would move either.

I said it on his debut when people seemed to think he looked bright. Looks absolutely lost. I'll be amazed if he's still here by the end of summer.

Can you sack a manager at half time?

Going by McDonald's reactions to SPFL highlights he's probably wishing he'd squared it to him as well.

Looking for 1 spare ticket if anyone has one going for tonight.
Twitter used to be great for picking up tickets for gigs and games but it's just full of clear spam sellers now.
If anyone has one please let me know.
Cheers
