They have updated their stats since I saw them some 3 hours ago maybe it had something to do with the delay in reporting score updates.

I seem to recall that there was a similar stalemate with updates many years ago when EF won 5-1 (or 6-2 ) away to , believe or not, Stranraer.

Dear Points of View, as a licence payer, could you please refrain from making my team's performances look worse than they really are, we can do a good enough job of this on our own thank you, yours Life on Marrs etc etc...

The BBC stats show that EF had no shots on goal but I seem to recall the opposing goalie saving 2 shots with his feet/legs but the stats do reflect how lacklustre EF were.

A long and silent return journey tonight , I predict..

Big game coming up next week against The Loons

BBC stats show we had 3 shots on target, (worryingly, Stranraer only 2). There was an issue with BBC today, I kept checking scores & even at 10 past 5 it still had most of the games, either at HT, or just going into it. Not just the less weel kent leagues, every game in the EPL was goalless, best league in the world I thought!

Anyway, No Pat Slatt, No Party?

Quick historical question…looking into a 14 August 1971 match at Starks Park, and wondering what kit East Fife would have been wearing. Raith would be in their Cobalt blue early 70’s tops, but I can’t find either East Fife’s 71-72 away strip or if they might have played in the Gold/Black. Thanks.

Pretty guaranted, unless of a colour clash, clubs would wear home kits in every game in those days. Ours was an all yellow affair with a black collar & effc lettering instead of a badge.

www.historicalkits.co.uk is a great place to waste time reminiscing old kits.

  4. He always wore sort of padded, leggings. I used to try and emulate his look, by tucking my tracksuit bottoms into my tangerine socks when I kicked about in the garden with my mates. I even painted my Dundee Utd subbeteo team's goalie's legs black, so it would look more like him!

I'm sure Annan and Stirling have free entry for u16s with an adult which is great value.

What happens though if say we have a sell out cup game but I want to bring my 3 year old? I doubt the club will be giving free seats.

In that situation, id be playing it safe and biting the bullet and getting a kids ticket.

  6. We're quick to criticise, so credit where it's due.

Night and day from the last 2 games. Great to see Pat Slat back. Ferguson had a good game, Fleming's save near the end was only upstaged by Healy's goal. Liked the look of the new lad, could do with more of an end product, but it's early days (I thought Ryan Blair looked good after his first game)!

Stirling didn't look anything great, but were missing Carrick. We spent, from the red card onwards in the opposition half & still only managed only 2 shots on target.

Looking forward to Coatbridge next week (not a well-used phrase!).

    Spoiler

A few seasons ago the Rovers stopped their concession turnstiles so kids, students, OAPs etc had to buy their tickets from a booth and provide ID. The proportion of full paying adults rose considerably as it reduced fraud.

I have wondered about this myself. Guys in the turnstiles wont want the confrontation & it reduces the pressure from mates etc trying to get in cheaper. As it's quite dark going through, probably not easy to tell how old some supporters are either. Your relying on honesty.

I bring my son from glasgow and he’s charged kids prices for all east fife home games according to the women in the ticket office and he is 4 years old now I bought him a season ticket which irrelevant this season while at Dumbarton he was charged a tenner when he was 3 years old last season and we got humped 5-0 there so never again 😂 I’ll stick to the home games bad enough wasting money at this level…

Again, not publicised, but about 2016/17, I was told by a director, that there's no charge for under 5's. After paying my son in a few times, I began to carry him in & always said to the turnstile operator, an adult & an under 5. Was never an issue, then the same when my daughter came along. This season though, my youngest is now 5, so I don't know if that's still the case. It's only £3 extra for a child + an adult ticket.

Every club will be different, but if I remember, kids were free, with an adult at Bonnyrigg.

So if I decide at the last minute to head to Parkhead to watch Celtic, I can pay cash at the gate and not have to bother with a ticket in advance?

    Thought not.

I think the argument here, is that Celtic will be sold out, largely based on the amount of season ticket holders, which works in the Premiership. However, we seem to be doing our utmost, at smaller clubs, these days to chase away, casual fans by making it harder, when we should be doing all we can to attract the likes of.

I've felt for a while, top flight football is only geared at season ticket holders, now lower leagues seem to be following suit.

I vaguely remember Peterhead implemented something like this years ago as the turnstile operators were on the rob, pocketing cash, 😂😂.

Is this behind this move at New Bayview?

Can't say ive ever heard anything along those lines.

I do think the general move towards a cashless society is due to a mistrust of the ordinary  worker handling money though. Which is why I fight this where possible, I will be using cash at Bayview on Saturday.

I'm working Saturday morning but, if finished early enough was considering taking a run through for this, then I discovered entry is ticket only......WTF??

Eighteen quid itself is a ridiculous price for this level of football to start with but, why the hell do a club in the basement league feel they have to make it eticket entry only, totally disuading the casual fans who may decide to take in a game at the last minute, on a whim type thing, we are talking about East Fife here, not fucking Real Madrid.......

Can't get my head round that, why would you put off folk who might just decide on the day of the game to go to the match by not having cash turnstiles, it's fucking East Fife for fucks sake...  why do they need to have ticket admission only, digital or otherwise 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♂️.

Imagine an old guy, without a smartphone or internet access turning up to watch the match only to be told no and he has to walk away, farcical.

Between that and the extortionate admission of 18 pounds I genuinely wonder if they actually want people to attend their matches, absolute minter.

Would be genuinely interested to hear from anyone here the logic in this and the opinions of the locals on both the admission price and the etickets only policy.

Agree completely with you, even if it became a bit if a rant! You can pay in cash at the office & get an eticket. Turnstiles are ticket only. Club dont publicise this, guess to avoid being inundated. Would suggest you turn up early for this and have time to enjoy a pint in our upstairs lounge.

Cant believe we paid a fee for him!!!

Whilst scanning much of yesterday, hoping for a signing, resignation or even a sacking, thought this was a wind up, or a least, with wearing the old kit, maybe a mistakenly read old post. Cannot believe this is the best we've managed to come up with.

Did well previously & is very experienced, however is someone who played for Brechin when they lost the pyramid play off and played the first half of the season in the Lowland league the experience we are after?

Gladly be proved wrong on this, but we appear utterly clueless. Only loanees or free agents left for us.

Does anyone know if or when the highlights of Saturday's match will be up on EFTV? I can see there's a good few interviews there, but was hoping to see the game itself. Had it in my head they were normally available by now.

Go to the club website, you'll find them under the 2022/2023 tab highlights.

  14. A few questions;

    1. Has there ever been a match before, where both teams have been wearing tartan?

    2. Could it be that we've decided it would be better to keep our powder dry this season with Dumbarton &/or Stirling destined to go up, whilst Clyde &/or Peterhead coming down might make next season's league 2 a more level playing field, that would certainly make sense with our (lack of) reinforcements. The manager has been involved with this team from day 1 this season, doesn't he see our shortcomings? Errors all over the pitch, nothing to offer in the final third, Stranraer, didn't have to work too hard for any of the goals.

    3. What the f**k was that I watched today?
