With regard to last night's game,I thought that there a lot of positives. For me both Denham and Steele are proving to be a formidable partnership, and are both still teenagers. If I was the manager,I would be offering the 2 players a longer term contract.

Couldn't agree more, get this done.

I'm guessing they've played together before whilst at St Johnstone & although new to us, not entirely strangers to one another.

Yeahbut Gallagher's injured isn't he? Finger operation?

He is injured, must be 6 months since or happened, so seems he's needing an op that he's out this long.

I believe we've been trying to get a loanee in, but struggling, as parent clubs want guarantees on playing time.

  3. Pretty in pink!

First time I've seen us this season. Thought we looked the better side first half & was confident at half time. Balde looks a player, not scared to get stuck in, which is often a criticism of a flair player. Mercer looked confident. Fleming assured, does seem to make the simple look spectacular at times.

Not sure we created enough for the 3 points but Forfar looked disappointing. Mccallum seemed to struggle with a couple of free kicks bouncing in front of him, wind mightve been a factor. Also will we ever create a chance from a corner?

Away from the game, various road closures meant not time for pre-match pint, so that equalises the £3 increase, nice to get a macaroni pie for a change & glad Liam found another battery for the mic!

All in all a good day & didn't need the jacket. 9points from 4 matches, probably more than anyone expected at this stage.

Time to get the train out of the shed, rail strikes permitting of course!

Not that I'm anticipating a huge travelling support (I honestly don't blame you) but for anyone heading to Bayview tomorrow, AVOID the A915 road.

The Lundin Links Hotel pretty much burnt to the ground overnight and the road is completely closed off and will be for the next wee' while.

I canny see any of the forfarians taking that route. But I will be so cheers. My first game of the season, so I'm expecting 2-2, with Ian heddle, & Craig brewster for Forfar.

Big cost of living squeeze going on in Forfar right now with the price of bunnets and wellies increasing.

Surely due to the war in Ukraine, grain prices will be sky high this year, meaning every farmer in the East of Scotland will have a bit extra in the pocket this year. Quick guys, put it up to £24 for this one!

  6. Yes, the price is too much, but, realistically if you are willing to travel from Forfar, giving up your Saturday afternoon/early evening, making a 3 hour round trip, are you really going to be put off by the price being £3 higher? I'm not defending the increase, but prices/costs are rising everywhere just now, inflation highest in 40 years, football is no different.

One one hand, I see it as a tax on loyalty, the other, other clubs will have to increase prices in the coming seasons, East Fife just look bad, as we've done it first.

That's pretty amazing, especially in this day & age.

Much was made of Celtic's European cup winners, all bar one born near Parkhead, I'm now expecting us to go on to that level in a few years!

  8. Think we've all been ready to to complain about the board, & had our knives sharpened for the manager. Credit where it's due though, yes it's only one game, yes 'Id like to see more up front, but there's not been much to be positive about in the last couple of years, especially away & at the moment, this feels guid!

    Kyle Connell guys? Any good?

Iain Murray had him on loan at Airdrie before he came to us. Raw, stuck on his own up front own much of the time last season in a team struggling, always looking to be involved and to flick the ball on, but too often isolated. A decent football brain. Worth taking a punt on at Championship level. Have you guys actually signed him, or is he just a loan, as I think he may need time to settle in at his level, rather than be one that hits the ground running.

Check out the cracker he scored in our 4-2 home win over Cove, if you want to see him at his best!

original comment was that there was an overspend during the DY era. My point was that I don’t believe that to be true. But if there was then the people who signed off that overspend are still at the club.

I'm not criticising us perhaps pushing the boat out, speculating to accumulate etc during this period. This would probably go a long way to explain the fall we are now seeing.

Covid can't be made an easy scapegoat all the time. The pandemic hit the towns of Forfar, Montrose, Stenhousemuir & Dumbarton also.

I'm just trying to find reasons why we are now seeing such a drop, yet charging so much (Elgin £13 on Saturday).

Or maybe there has been some other sort of Worldwide event that has impacted the clubs finances?

How come this worldwide event has impacted EF's finances more than that of our traditional rivals?

Its also fact that part time players wage demands have rocketed in recent years(to what most of us would call a full time wage), this started pre-covid & much of that inflation must be down to the wages Cove & Kelty have been throwing about at our level.

  12. Ordinarily, you'd tend to believe the clubs chairman over Stevie Crawfords friend when it comes to knowledge of club budgets but looking at the evidence, I'm not believing Crawford has money sitting but as a former international striker hes decided to just go with a couple of raw youngsters up front.

It looks like we've overspent during the Darren Young days, which might explain why players were so keen to keep resigning for us during this era. I also think the likes of Cove & Kelty have created huge wage demands at this level.

Adam Rooney is looking for a club, last at Solihull Moors. He’s 34 now but no idea how much he would have been on per week at Solihull.

I would rather have leigh Griffiths, he's lookin for a club & he's just 31.

Be close to home for him, especially with us training in Edinburgh!
