McGlynn isn't sorry, you can see that he's struggling - badly - to show proper empathy to the situation (all, of his own making). He's murmuring out soundbites while trying to look apologetic but he's clearly sat thinking "Oh just shut up with this shite, it's done now."

well it kind of is done now is it not?

Not much else can be said or done, the damage was done, what you want, for him to get stoned alive or something?

Seems society wants everyone to loose their livelihood or worse when someone makes a mistake, in this instance John Mcglynn.

People want the board sacked, McGlynn sacked, of course Goodwillie out of the club, but whats next, the admin guy who made him sign on the dotted line, the kit man for handing him a tracksuit.

The club took action, apologised and accepted it was the wrong move, people need to move on. The fans kicked off and rightly got the result they wanted. Time to get behind your team now and stop whining

I have no idea what point you’re trying to prove

Nouble directly or indirectly creates a ridiculous amount of chances for us

We wouldnt have scored 8 is the point

His goals created, and goals scored equal 8 for the season

    15 clubs he has had, he's 25

He can hold men off, he can do some outstanding things, but there is quite simply no end product.

You are not going to argue that all 15 clubs hes been at are wrong are you?

Great big guy to have, and does a very specific role and causes a lot of problems for sure, no-one is taking that away.

But the Nouble is some kind of superstar is dilusional.

We better get used to Hilson/Dowds starting upfront in 4 weeks from now.

Thats if im allowed to have an opinion on here :D

Dont bite too hard guys, were all allowed to like/dislike players, based on clear stats. Remember, no end product means no goals guys.

There’s definitely a player in Donnelly (feet) but by fuk we need more out of him, striker that got zip this season, he’s had a number of starts but no rewards, need more.

You know hes playing out on the left though eh.

Think the big man is going what is asked of him n that role. Hence why hes getting the run hes getting.

This season 5 starts 3 goals at the start of the season and then dropped for a month.

Good to see him getting some time, all be it in a weird position.

I think expecting goals from the position hes playing in isnt going to happen.

We aint seeing much goals from Nouble either or any other striker.

I would keep Mckenna where he is though, i wouldnt play him up top, even if he is the most composed of finishers, i think were getting the best out of him in the role hes in.

Get what you mean but genuinely cannot remember anyone even tackling Nouble 😂😂😂 maybe happened once or twice. He gave ball away a few times but by trying to make things happen. Just leave the man to it in my opinion he’s just great. Boys bouncing aff him. He plays some really good balls too sometimes we just aren’t on his wavelength. Going to miss the big man so much

Weird post. I didn’t wish anyone was out but I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world for Thomson to be missing tonight as we’re playing the top of the league team, away from home and if he’s not fully fit then no I don’t think he should be starting in such a potentially tough game. There are other ways of getting players fit - hard training and managed game time.

All I (and others) am/are saying is why change a formation and style of play that was pumping teams a few short weeks ago simply because one player is out injured. Slightly different from your rants.

Its all good and well saying somethings weird when you dont agree with the content :D

Our own fans do nothing but moan about our own players constantly, whether their match fit or not or had a bad game. Now that strikes me as weird too. As people wouldnt be at Arbroath if they had any level of consistency.

Nouble gets 3 goals and hes getting called back to Livi, so even a poor level of consistency and people will be off in a heartbeat.

So we need to manage our own expectations, you dont get players who play well every week at this level.

I agree its odd to change formations, when we were doing ok, but my so called rant eluded to that a few weeks ago, yet you are still calling it a rant.

Anyway enjoy my rant, it is what it is. Ill leave it up to you to form your own opinions.

Happy-ish that Thomson is out as I don’t think he’s fully up to speed yet, but Donnelly and Clark ahead of the options we have on the bench is mental.

How who on the bench is performing better?

Also happy someones out, the guy wont get up to speed without getting games.

Id love how anyone is meant to get a chance or get up to speed, when your glad there out LMAO.

Its beggars belief what gets said on here from our own fans it really is. ( Is that you Edgar Davids ) making the posts?

Mind a few weeks back i got roasted for saying Dicks selection choices were somewhat strange.

Yet we didnt loose at the weekend and now our own fans wish players were out, and are now turning on dick.

You are a right fickle bunch, must be the smell o fish from the sea gone to your heads, because half the guys on here know as much about Fish as they do about the game.

Oh yeah i forgot, you pay your way in so your opinion counts ( not )

I absolutely love your post mate

It's  totally random, all over the place and at 11 on a Saturday night makes total sense to me....

Ok if your too simple to read it on a saturday ill summarise

Dicks long ball tactics do not work the majority of the time

Weasel like fans, on players backs after a bad game is a poor show

Dicks reluctance to change tactics results in other teams switching on and countering said tactic to the point it no longer works

Having a go the players, yet praising the guy who deploys those tactics is insane

Having a go at players like Hilson, Thompson etc who have had little to no game time, expecting them to come in and make an instant impact is stupidity

I just wonder how many of our fans are actually fans or simply look for ways to get stuck into the team.

What was that, then, just a random non-sequitur?

I'm not Dick Campbell's biggest fan, not by a long chalk, but it's fucking wild to be throwing that level of criticism at him at this moment in time.

Why not though? Because he won a few games, cmon man look at the state of play, its the same crap year on year. Its getting beyond a joke

  9. Big Nouble has a bad game and the pressures on

Can't/wont cut it in the SPL?

    Useless
    Done nothing

Ronaldo didnt score or do much today for Man Utd either ( im not comparing Nouble to Ronaldo )

Players have bad games, players have a couple of good games and people think there world beaters. The jury is very much out on Nouble IMO. He will go through quiet spells, but only a few weeks back he was the best player in 20 years, couple of weeks later it all changes.

Hilson kops it, even though he wont be match fit and has warmed a bench for the best part of 2 months.

We play the same formation and tactics week after week and other teams will switch onto it. Hitting the ball up to a big lad upfont and hoping he slips over the ball and bags a goal now and then is poor.

We blame guys who are not match fit when they get 1 game in ten weeks, and we expect them to slot right in and perform.

Fans are a fickle bunch and will never look to Uncle Dick as potentially being part of the problem.

Its not like we are not paying well, most players are from the central belt, we pay well for a part time team, we have access and budget to good players, theres no reason why with the current squad we shouldnt be a settled championship team.

Its gash all round and stuff needs to be changed up or we will quite simply struggle later in the season, theres a good squad there, but we need to stop this hit and hope bullshit, and theres only one man who authorises this.

Some strange criticism of a battling point for Arbroath. Morton we’re on top for 20 minutes of the second half and looked like winning but overall a draw was fair. I actually thought Hilson was decent. Henderson our best player easily. He looks like a real find.
A good day out and a cracking match.

Agreed, some of the fans in other comments saying hilson was finished etc.

People need some game time, conditions were shit, and the strikers didnt really have any real service.

Think we done well to get a point always nice to get something at Morton.

Really no sure what’s going on here. LD been very good this season when he’s played seems strange to be picking faults with him when he’s not featured much recently.

agreed seems the guy constantly gets stick for no real reason. Not just LD our strikers do get it tight, just baffles me why we heckle our own players

This was partly in jest replying to lichtie23’s identical comment on Anton Dowds. However there’s a bit of “lies, damn lies and statistics” here. Luke has 3 cup goals against East Fife, Elgin and Kelty Hearts - nothing in the Championship. Last season he had 1 cup goal and no league goals. The season before he had 5 league goals. Not much of a return for a striker. And yes, he is a striker for us.

You might want to consider he was injured for most of last season, if you really want to be down and dirty with the finer details.

Luke can only score in games that he plays in, he played in the cup and scored goals, if you remember correctly he was moved out of position for the Inverness game, which was the last game be started before the Aberdeen game.

A striker can only score when played, not when given 10 mins of the bench.

And yes we know he gets played as a striker.

Got to love fans like you.

I’m sure yesterday McKenna and Nouble were interchangeable with McK farther forward at least half the time.  I also describe Luke Donnelly as a classic No. 10 and Joel N shares a number of similar positional characteristics Tho fairly unique).  So in conclusion… does it mean we actually lack a “genuine” striker and a surfeit of No. 10s?  Who cares - I notice Mike McK leads the goal scoring charts for the Division.

2 goals in 6 starts aint a genuine striker, id say Nouble is a handful and absolute menace and has many good traits, but a natural born finisher he isnt. If he was he wouldnt be here put it that way.

I’d say go with the strongest team, keep momentum going and get a run in this cup.

Thats Dick's way sadly, and when someone picks up an injury or suspension the squad players are not match fit. Seems stupid not to give others game time but can see your point in wanting a run in the cup, but also is a cup run worth more than keeping a squad happy and fit?
