  1. Hustlers was ok. about an 80% female cast, but stood up very well. It could've been a lot worse 7/10 I think is fair. I have a Cineworld card (£18.-- or so a month) so I probably wouldn't have went if it was full price. Spiderman far from home was ok, lots of purple and orange explosions, if that's your thing 7/10 The best i've seen has to be Rocket Man, the Elton John bio. Was hoping it would include a scene where he is reported to have talked Billy Connolly out of suicide in his bog at a party. Great movie overall, 9/10. Would love to see a Billy Connolly bio, would show a profit for showing in Scotland by itself. Who would play the young Billy? Could be hilarious, with cut scenes to his actual stage shows. I can imagine James McAvoy in a long curly wig and moustache. Can't believe I missed Rambo last blood, must see the Joker tonight.
  2. I've made enough points on this thread, I need to remind myself not to respond, thanks.
  3. Fine, i'm an idiot. But if Nicola's time at Drumchapel law centre (defending junkie stabbers and thiefs, compensation claims and general ambulance chasing) makes her fit to lead the nation, then fine. In my opinion the more I explore her history, the worse she looks.
  4. By "drop-out" people meant she didn't get a first, instead she concentrated on the SNP, her only career before that was drumchapel law centre, the very bottom of the legal profession, she has little experience outside the SNP.
  5. Yes, decided by the people of Scotland (presuming the SNP win indyref 2,) It's the negotiation to join that worries me, we'd strictly need a separate deal from the one the UK had because we'd strictly be a separate country with a whole different economy, my problem is that the difficulties of negotiation would make us second class, I mean Greece is still skint and does anybody care?
  6. Nicola Sturgeon makes good soundbites, Idon't see what she's had to negotiate, turns up at G-summits and says the right things about climate change. Honestly, her education is "college drop-out" correct me if i'm wrong. I can't think of an interviewer who's given her a hard time. I thought you'd need mathematics and debating skills to negotiate our entry into the EU. I don't see that we have the people to do that because you don't just enter, it takes several years of negotiation.
  7. You state "but they (the EU) are not some big bully", but that's what worries me. When Greece went bust, it was the German Bundesbank controlling their debt, not so much the EU, I remember the Greeks blaming Germany for their problems, (even though Greece always had massive pensions and benefits which had to be reined in anyway, so their position was partly self-inflicted), now you have the yellow-vest protests in France because Macron tries to bring his benefits system into line with the EU, as Nigel Farage says, "all the EU have done is transplant the soviet union where Europe used to be". Remember when the EU was first set up, we spent about a decade and several billion quid to lawyers to write all the EU legislation in black and white, they claimed that all we had to do to leave was go to WTO rules for a few years, and it will all be ironed out in time. Now come the event, the remainers predict disaster. as for shortage of medicines, we were told there was legislation to deal with such an emergency, after all we spent a decade or so writing it. When you say "they are not some big bully" Ifear that's exactly what they are. We would be welcomed because the EU are basically skint, remember how they were clamouring for Turkey to join, right up to the point where Greece went bust?
  8. Is that a promotion from windae-licker? I'm moving up un the world.
  9. I'm back to entertain you. Here's my biggest problem, ultimately. When you look at BoJo and his supposedly educated chums trying to negotiate Brexit, and these Ox/Cam - Eton educated betters don't have the skills to stand up to Europe, then what hope do we have? The Scottish parly is like a chimps tea party, like 9-year-olds telling us what they think of the world, complete amateur stuff. When Scotland goes to negotiate our position in the EU, I just see us getting a stupendously bad deal, then being held over a barrel like Greece was when they fell behind with their bills I don't hate the Indy crowd, it's just that I think we've been manoeuvered into this position. When we're given the chance to vote and given two choices, we really don't have the people to negotiate, so whether it's Brexit or indy, I think we've been manipulated by the fact that we joined the EU without a vote in the first place. When people are posting that because Brexit is delayed and that an indy result would also be endlessly delayed, Idoubt it, I think we'd be welcomed to the EU with open arms, because if we don't have the people to negotiate, that suits the EU perfectly. The way I see modern democracy, they give us two crap choices, then tell us it's what we wanted 'cos we voted for it.
  10. I suppose i'm not legit in that i'm posting on the pro indy thread, I guess some people will always have their beliefs but posting on a thread you agree with is just boring. Iguess i'll go and entertain somebody else.
  11. If the alternatives are Gary Lineker on poverty wages of about £1.7mil. or whatever, he has to force that creepy grin to let you know he's trying to be funny, I always remember Adrian Chiles on big money, who had to chuck it in because of his depression, I mean, who knew? he seemed so happy-go-lucky. If I had to choose between either of those or Tam Cowan, no contest.
  12. No volume there but I get the last word she said was "shite". I've edited that post as I cannot prove links, technically, that was trolling. Lesson learned i'll only post things I can prove, but I promise you i'm every bit as honest as Donald Trump.
  13. The people who firebombed BP might not have been SNP they were probably "tartan terrorists" I can't find link to that, Iknow Margaret Thatcher appeared on question time and called them terrorists but I can't find a link to any of her question time appearances at all, I presumed they would be easy to find. Overall, that's not the point, it wasn't the main drive of the points I made. Sorry but what's "red dot" I don't see that in any instruction.
  14. I never posted that thing about typing shite & lies, that must be a hack, the people who formed the SNP in 1934 bear no resemblance to those from the 1970's , as do those presently, That's 3 SNP'S , the current one bears little resemblance to the previous 2, somewhat proves my previous point about the SNP being disingenuous and why am I a troll?
  15. You think i'm a troll? Fine, I promise, last response, let's move on.
  16. No, the Queen is specifically the Queen of England and the commonwealth, we're second whatever happens. Head of whatever, she's there to decide if we get a second referendum.I know someone put up a link to Wikipedia but that's just Wikipedia and I'm certain that's wrong. How could we be "actually be part of it" if we're leaving and becoming fully independent. So would we put up a border to decrease trade, 'cos if there isn't a border then really, what's the point of independence?
  17. Do you think all celtic supporters are specifically left-wing? Is that why you put that in quotation marks? It's not that left wing issues don't affect me, it just that left wing voices always have to be on the side of right and always have to be louder than everyone else. That hasn't always been "the celtic way". All this exploring the left wing stuff is relatively modern. I don't think the loudest voice is always the right one. But i'll move onto another thread if you only want voices who preach to the converted.
  18. Let me tell you where I'm coming from. I used to vote SNP back when we won the occasional Govan by-election, back when the only argument was to take control of our oil revenue. Now we have the current administration who want one vote after another until they get the right answer Only a few years ago we had the the Alex Salmond referendum and you've got "SNP member Pat Kane" (the same PK who'se too great a Scot to actually live in Scotland, just like Shir Shaun Connery) wheeled out on question time to give us scripted quotes such as "As any SNP voter knows, independence is not about oil revenue" (I don't have a link to these things, i'm paraphrasing what he said). That was a turning point for me, because why was the likes of PK given a seat on QT just to say that, when the SNP was formulated for that purpose alone. I'm concerned at the speed at which the SNP grew through social media and TV coverage, having abandoned it's original principal, when TV coverage had been scant previously and always made out the SNP to be a fringe party at best. Forgive me if I smell a rat, but why all this media coverage for a party whose sole purpose was overtaken by simple economics { I refer to foreign investment in Scottish oil) which was always in the wind tbh. I just couldn't vote for something which no longer makes economic sense, never mind being insulted by someone who swallowed a thesaurus in order to appear intelligent.
  19. Actually proud British, 'though I didn't realise there is a separate thread for unionist remainers, seems a bit daft if we all preach to the converted, whichever way you look at it.
  20. 1- If she's queen of the UK then our head of government would be UK, still not independent Scottish. 2- Didn't Westminster just bail us out of our £1- billion pound deficit (for a country of 7.5 million? people recently. Our own currency would be held up by all this large scale industry and well paid jobs which Scotland is known for (sarcasm) 3- As if we could afford to pay another army to defend us, we can hardly afford our bills as it is. 4- Lets cut ourselves off from our biggest trading partner as we argue to join Europe as an independent nation, 'cos that's really going to improve our economy. 5- I think you get the jist.
  21. I'm a Celtic fan but we're meant to have competition anyway. I'd honestly like to see a challenge from at least three other teams, what's 9 or 10 iar if there isn't competition from more teams than the Rainjurs? What's 55 (or 1) if the rest of the league doesn't really compete? The league became a competition of finance decades ago, i'm 50 this year and winning doesn't hold the same fascination as it did when I was 20.
  22. The thing is, diplomatic immunity or not, the Americans look after their own. We look after our own when in agreement with the Americans.
  23. "They should take back control, properly and without delay by leaving the UK", The problem I have with this is that independence, by it's current proposal is that none of it makes us independent-for example; 1 - The Queen (of England, not even the UK) remains our head of state, no matter how we vote. 2 - Our currency would be based on the bank of England pound. 3 - Our armed forces would be British, in part paid for out of our own budget and would contain many Scots personnel. As far as I can see, the above makes us England's back garden, I honestly think it gives us a far worse reality than we already have.
