  1. More likely to be 9 other members of the family with granny mckay as a lone striker.
  2. Makes the situation with robert more strange. Is he not starting every week to protect him from injury for his next move? If he's came to us to play and improve then move on why is jack mckay starting infront of him? The strange situation of unwanted colt teams in the Diddy Cup gave us the 1st look at Leon mccann. Still remember on way out though we won 1-0 everyone was talking about the wee left back. To get him on loan was good work as at that time he was seen as cover for eckersly. Then took his chance. Man of the match in quite a few games. Then to get him permanently I have to admit I though it was going to earn us a few quid with him leaving. hope he gets a chance with a team in the top league. Don't think he'd let anyone down.
  3. My source is better than your source. I have on very good authority Messi has been sent back as we tried to play him as center back and he got no wee man maybe next year.
  4. Spot on mate. Post like that just come across as someone coming on to say I know something you don't know yet still not back it up. Are all supposed to hanging on for the next words. Also if there wasn't a plan to get us out of this league at the start of every season id be more worried.
  5. Hope something will be done about the TV camera for future games. At this time of year with the low sun we can expect this again everytime the suns out.
  6. Should be an interesting game. We did beat Falkirk earlier in the season but the was our last win before Tuesday at dumbarton. Our home form is shocking and as per usual this season nobody could predict our starting 11 or formation. I really should be saying go for a win and try to push upwards but the way this season has been for us I'd take a draw. Big prediction lose at home again and mr Murray will be out of a job.
  7. Thursday is a huge game for us. At the start of the season most of the talk has been about what we can do at the top end of the league. Inconsistent at the start of the season and poor form the restart. Home form has been poor for quite some time. Wins needed from Thursday and Saturday or were in big trouble.
  8. Pretty much how I'd describe the squad also. Their are capable players in the squad but if the manager doesn't like who we have or would rather players played out of position than even give young squad players a go like the end of last season then the shambles goes from top to bottom.
  9. Absolutely savage scout report there mate. Fancy doin the team talk on Tuesday?
  10. I think a manager has to come out and say it as it is. Were as poor as we have ever been. The managers style seems to be "unlucky boys" after games when they need to get the finger out. Shambles at the back and yet another home game ends with a defeat. I was also an advocate of the manager being given time. I think he will be given till the end of the season but if no play offs then it's back to square 1. Then new manager, squad rebuild just like the last 3 seasons.
  11. I've been sayin for a long time to play more attackers. I'm sure the team set up didn't include playing with 10 men for 86 minutes. I'll admit to being pleased they set up to have a go and the 11 that started should have been strong enough to win. No matter what formation we started with it didn't matter after 4 mins.
  12. As I said before I'd go more attacking in our home games. Currie McKay- crighton -fordice - McCann Kerr/sabatini Robert - Turner- Carrick Gallagher- Connell 2 proper strikers with an attacking midfield. I'd rather see sabatini in too but with this formation kerr would be given the holding midfield.
  13. Personally I think with this being a shorter season I'd be happy to see us just have a go in each game. Stop being so defensive especially in our home games. Playing with back 4 and 2 defensive midfielders is fine away from home. Our home record has to improve. I feel we do have a decent squad as said before a creative midfielder would help but it's not like we were struggling. Lost count of the games at home we only have 2 or 3 shots on goal though. Basically what I'm saying is I'd change from 2 defensive midfielders and add another striker. Especially for home games.
  14. After all the interviews and articles about him this year it would be disappointing to see him go and be a squad player with either of the ugly sisters. His agent as obviously did a good job letting everyone know about his availability after this season. Profile built up a bit with Tam Rab t-shirts. After a few games for airdrie in league 1 is he going to be a premier league player next year? Probably not. Would be bit disappointed to see him go to any premier league team to sit on the bench. Good luck to the boy though. Hope he gets the move he wants.
  15. What kind of signings did you expect from a league 1 club? The players brought in the last few seasons like it or not are our level. To bring the better players in our league or championship level means we would have to pay higher wages than they get now. We can't offer more money than Falkirk or thistle. East fife / Montrose players will have jobs and we have been told before most part time players dont want to travel hours for training. We are 3rd in the league. That was the target for this season. As most have said not pretty football but it's not like we were struggling. Last season finished and we were still in a position to win it. Ok would rely on other results but it was still possible. This season has had good and bad but they only played 10 league games. Almost everyone on here said they didn't care about league cup results but ok it's hard to take a defeat by a lower league team but other teams have made improvement too. As I said before something different was tried this season and can be view as good and bad but this happens at every club.
  16. Personally I feel it's signing so many at the start of each season that's held us back. Last few seasons it's taken a few games / months to find a first choice starting 11. This season we were supposed to keep the core from last season and try to improve. A different signing policy was tried to bring a different kind of player from what's available in lower leagues. It can be view as a success and failure.
  17. https://www.airdriefc.com/2021news/210215/Club-Statement%3A-DoF Again something at our club that brings more questions than answers. From talking to Miller he always came across as open and honest. Didn't mind talking about how he liked to try and help the club improve. Will be sad to see him go. It was his connections and knowledge of lower league that got us decent lower league players like callum fordice and Callum Gallagher. However it seems we are now signing players who have been recommended by a 3rd party. I dont imagine Robert or sabatini will have been scouted or been on a list of transfer targets at the start of the season. So the questions raised are who makes the signings? Is it one man or an agreement from manager and board?. I'd imagine Miller as DOF would be the one to do the deals but surely the manager would have an input or maybe have players in mind he likes. Could it be the McKay deal is one that perhaps wasn't wanted but got told to sign him anyway? I dont think we singed a player in the last 2 seasons that I thought didn't have something to offer if given a chance in the team. With the latest signing could it be it wasn't wanted but were told he needs a club?
  18. I think it's a strange time to be signing a new squad player. Has someone been told the league will start again soon? If not why add another wage to the budget with no games? Especially a player who (ok with the McKay connection could be starting) won't be a first choice starter ever week. Their could be something with the McDonald going to dunfermline deal bringing available money but surely with no games adding to the squad at this time of the year is just strange.
  19. Quite agree. Fair play to thistle. I'll be happy adding 10 quid. Cheapest away game scince the guy who let me and my boy into peterhead away for free.
  20. Cheers mate. Listening to a couple of peterhead guys commentary will probably need subtitles though.
  21. Really liked that away shirt last year. Thought the colours were smart and worked well. One thing though does the colours of the shorts and socks not have to be different from home strip?. With the colours of the other teams in the league it probably wont really matter anyway.
  22. Camera much better tonight. Couple of little slow parts and again wanders if if ball not returned to play quickly. Over all much better. Sadly cant say the same for the game. As has been said previously it's a preseason friendly so cant read to much into it. Also have played them the week previously. Things from tonight Gallagher is not a winger. 1st half looked much better when he came into the middle and got his goal from getting himself into the box. Big mbayo looked solid 2and half and a bomb scare 1st half. Ritchie has played 3 game and 3 different positions. Good to see we have guy who can cover different positions. Tough shift for the trialist as lone striker 1st half the very little service. If in doubt long ball tactic didn't work last year and isnt working again this year. One more preseason game to go and still pretty much same problem as last season creating chances. Still plenty more to come.
  23. Camera definitely worse than the rovers game. Think camera struggling to find a ball with the sun and our yellow strip. If the ball goes out and is not returned quickly the camera wanders and takes too long to find the ball again. I had to create a new login to pay for the game also. I'll give a few weeks to see if the problems can be fixed but not waisting money every week on this.
