  1. That was a very comfortable afternoon. Both the first and second half were good in different ways. Much as I'd have enjoyed seeing the foot put down and another few goals scored, the cruise control of the second half was professional and sensible. A few chances were still made to add further gloss to the scoreline. Great to see Josh Kerr on for a longer period of time as well as his return continues to be folded in. Jordan Allan had a great game and that touch and finish were superb. All three goals were very good, but East Fife were beyond generous with the time and space they allowed us. Their only saving grace at the moment is the woefulness of Dumbarton, who are on a similarly shocking run of form. That's going to be some match between the two on Saturday. Airdrie are a joy to watch at the moment and it really is heartening. Here's hoping for a productive January to carry this forward into the rest of the season. Another big game coming up, against visitors who need to beat us if they have any serious intentions of being in and amongst the leading pack.
  2. As @++Ammo - Airdrie++ and others have said, a very comfortable afternoon. Both the first and second half were good in different ways. 3. Airdrieonians 2-1 Falkirk Alloa Athletic 1-2 Queen's Park Cove Rangers 0-0 Montrose Dumbarton 0-0 East Fife Peterhead 1-0 Clyde
  4. With the visitors an hilarious 13 points behind us, it really is a must win for them if they have any serious intentions. The return of Dowds makes them more of a threat up front and Taylor-Sinclair is a improvement defensively at least on paper (albeit not sure how he'll stand up to the pace of guys like Smith) but the reason we massacred them in the last fixture was the absolute dominance of the midfield. If McInroy cannot be brought back on loan ahead of the match then that will be a blow, but our midfield remains significantly the stronger regardless. Attack at pace and avoid giving them any gifts, and we'll win this game.
  5. Aye will be interesting to see if Josh starts and if so, does that mean McCabe moves forward and Agnew drops out? Guess we'll find out tomorrow.
  6. Not seen anything as yet but maybe some 'ITK' source will start dropping hints soon. Because that's always good... Match report mentions that Ian Murray will be missing tomorrow due to covid so hopefully he's okay and back soon https://www.airdriefc.com/2122-news/220107/airdrieonians-vs-east-fife
  7. ^ Seems deeply disingenuous, I've seen the Falkirk thread where the salient facts were mentioned more than once. Absolutely no reason you'd have missed those posts. If you had missed it, and therefore happened not to know the actual facts of the matter, maybe you should have kept schtum and not made any declarations about what had happened, stating it as fact and asking what more he could do since he had been "dragged through the courts" and found not guilty. If you don't know that to be true, either check it out before saying it is true, or better yet, shut up about it. Anyway; As a Cumbernauld local, i'm hoping Danny Lennon et al retain Goodwillie and thereby avoid relegation. Make it so, Clyde.
  8. Ian Murray missing from the dugout as he has tested positive for covid. https://www.airdriefc.com/2122-news/220107/airdrieonians-vs-east-fife Hope it's only mild, or even better asymptomatic, and that he's back soon.
  9. Stop talking shite. He was never found not guilty. If you want to defend him or his right to play for falkirk or clyde or whomever, that's up to you, but you're blatantly lying. It never went to criminal court. A Judge found against him in a civil court. https://www.scotcourts.gov.uk/search-judgments/judgment?id=d22e28a7-8980-69d2-b500-ff0000d74aa7 He appealed this judgement, and lost the appeal. Wind yer neck in ya utter melt.
  10. Am I right in thinking EF are still awaiting their first win under Crawford? That's surely going to come eventually, but if Airdrie play anything approaching their best they will win this match. A fourth win on the bounce would be great, a third clean sheet would be fantastic. Let's hope it isn't the last time we see Kerr McInroy in an Airdrie shirt...
  11. Not something I would find at all acceptable personally and something that would see me spend my money and time elsewhere, were it to happen. An awful message to send to all the young supporters we would hope become the future backbone of the club. Leave that sort of desperation to clubs like falkirk. Anyway; announce McInroy
  12. If the guy is going to continue to play down the dereliction of moral duty by trying to engage in naff whataboutery, he could at least try and be accurate when he does so, rather than making up a load of old cobblers.
  13. He has indeed played for Scotland. He hasn't ever played for Scotland in front of a full Hampden, never mind recently, despite your claim to the contrary. You were wrong.
  14. Fantastic to have McGill staying on, he's a very promising player and he has done well thus far.
  15. Nope. Declan Gallagher has never played for Scotland in front of a full house Hampden. Ever.
  16. I'd hope you are right and I agree, it makes sense for him to continue on the rest of the season at a club he knows he's going to get game-time in, that he knows he is doing well in and enjoying, rather than starting over at yet another club, but his personal ambition to play at best level possible might come in to it if a club in the league above come in for him. Celtic will have a part to play in any decision, as well, regards what Kerr does the rest of this season. It's not just up to the player, I would imagine. His sub appearance at Ochilview cup ties him, so that might help. Hopefully if he wants to stay on, he'll be allowed to. I thought that was his loan up on 6th but apparently he's able to play Saturday? That's good news.
  17. 3 wins in a week, back to back clean sheets; fantastic from the squad and staff. Be interesting to see how January goes, not to mention what if any changes are made before the game on Saturday. That's another win we need to secure, against a team we've managed no bother thus far this season but who have a new manager and are fighting for their lives. Avoid complacency and it should be 4th win and a 3rd clean sheet on the bounce, which would be truly superb. Ayr can just f**k off and appoint someone else, thanks very much. Losing Ian Murray would be a massive blow and a huge spanner in the works at this stage in the season. Paul Hartley, though, he's a guy who looks ready for an earlier step up into the league above. He would leave Cove with my best wishes... Fingers crossed we see some good additions coming in soon; with injuries across all areas of the park, our bench is looking very thin of late. All the more reason to be pleased with the form and the output from the squad. They could do with reinforcements, though, that's for sure.
  18. Terrible refereeing decision to rule out the goal from the corner, and it didn't look like Jordan Allan fouled the dumbarton player to me; defender seemed far, far too weak, against a guy about half his height as well. That doesn't really matter, though, as Dumbarton looked woefully inept and barely laid a glove on us despite Airdrie having a bit of an off day. Sons look in serious bother. The game wasn't a classic, that's for sure. It was not helped by a truly atrocious pitch, but quality told in the end. 3 wins in a week, back to back clean sheets; fantastic from the squad and staff.
  19. Airdrieonians 3-0 East Fife Clyde 1-1 Cove Rangers Falkirk 2-0 Dumbarton Montrose 2-2 Alloa Athletic Queen's Park 1-0 Peterhead
  20. A hearty 'you're welcome' to all the QP fans who've wanted Ellis punted for a wee while now. 'Twas our pleasure. Happy to help.
  21. Hopefully we're allowed to attend, but it would be quite funny if clyde were denied the chance to charge us twice by an extension of crowd limits.
  22. Thistle away on the Saturday, Clyde away on the Tuesday. Smash the pair of them.
  23. Good. Albeit now I'm worrying about the game being off due to covid, rather than the usual weather worry when playing Dumbarton away in the winter.
