  1. Yip, hindsight I know but I don't think the United defence would have relished facing they pair in the second leg of the play off.
  2. Would probably be the quickest front line in Scottish footie. Defences wud be cacking themselves.
  3. This is defo worth a try. No way would defenders relish facing the pace the two of them have. Also both have an eye for goal.
  4. That was the game. We went berserk, mate absolutely buggered his ankle going over on it on the terracing
  5. My mate broke his ankle at Dens celebrating a goal and I'm pretty sure it was Sloan that scored it. I may be wrong but something tells me it was a midweek cup replay.
  6. Isn't going to happen anyway as we clearly have a wage structure at the club.
  7. I agree this is the big season for us and Houstie. If we're are still in the championship next season and Houstie is still here then it may be the time to get on his and the boards back. In the meantime we have to trust him and give support to whoever he signs.
  8. I agree with a lot of what you are saying but I don't see it happening under Houston as he doesn't appear to be anything other than a safe manager who won't take a risk. This I think suits our current board. It appears clear that we have a wage structure that won't allow us to even bid for the likes of Dobbie, Loy or players of that ilk that could take us to the next level. The loan market could be an option but it would appear as someone else has stated that Houston doesn't like loan players and prefers players that he can work with and develop. I don't know what the answer is other than a change of manager or changes in the board. I'll be honest though and say I would rather sign 2 cracking players on £2k a week that cud progress us than 8 mediocre ones on £500 a week so I think the wage cap maybe needs to go.
  9. Totally agree everyone has a right to their opinio, but i still don't think there is a need for the level of negativity on this thread. It's not as if we have signed an obese 40 year old striker from Dunipace I'm not saying it is an inspiring signing and one that will turn us into a championship winning side but I will reserve my judgement until I see how he does for us.
  10. Ooftie this thread is going into meltdown [emoji16] Doesn't matter who we sign and how shite they have been at other clubs we should give them a chance. Seems to me Harris has a chance with us to get his career back on track and hopefully he will realise that and who knows he might turn out alright. If he is shite after a run in the side then come on here and give him pelters but we have signed him now so gotta give him a chance.
  11. F*ck me, the Spice Girls have let themselves go[emoji44]
  12. I will give any signing a chance before writing them off and I'll do the same with Harris. Not the most exciting I must admit and would have hoped for better. Maybe Houstie is keeping his ace signing up his sleeve for the striker role. Wouldn't bet on it though [emoji16]
  13. Oh please Lord let this be a decent signing ????
  14. There is nothing St Mirren or their fans can do if the media have a stiffie for them and decide to bum them up. I am sure like us they know that you enjoy the good times while they are there as normally at clubs like ours your next shitey season or crisis is just round the corner. Jack has certainly got them playing well and I have no doubt they will be in the mix next season. Good luck next season FTOF just not against us [emoji1]
  15. Sometimes a warm boozer with lovely beer v's a freezing cold TFS is a very close call [emoji16]
  16. Cracking idea [emoji106] Cud sit there and pish away to my hearts content [emoji16]
  17. I've renewed but must say watching the Bairns at TFS was turgid at times last season. I find as I'm getting on in years the games in the middle of winter at that place are especially challenging. If I have a couple of pints before the game, as the cold hits I spend more of the game in the bog. Maybe wisnae a bad thing at times last season [emoji16]
  18. Must be horrible, feel your pain [emoji23]
  19. I used to rip the piss out a Pars supporting mate at work everytime the Bairns scudded them. Was all good mannered banter which he took really well and always gave as good as he got. When I found out fat munter was a Par and ripped into him about that he lost the plot and cudni take it [emoji23]
  20. Things won't change I'm afraid. I've followed Falkirk for 45 years and our board have never been quick to splash the cash. They will have looked at how close we went last season and think we can do the same again. It will be tough this year but it's early days so we will just have to wait and see how things pan out. In their defence the last time we did spend decent money and backed a manager in the Hughes era that ended in disaster.
  21. I think it going to be a cracking league. There are no whipping boys this term and no one will fancy away days at the likes of Ayr or Dumbarton as they are good teams at home and hard to beat. Really looking forward to it.
  22. I totally agree with this but should Saints be a country mile ahead of us. Aside of league positions at the moment we have the potential to be a bigger and better club. Is the issue our BOD and a lack of ambition as at the moment anytime we get any player who looks remotely decent our board are clamouring over themselves to flog them. There are numerous clubs in the Premiership at the moment who in my mind are smaller than us so where are we going wrong. It fucking frustrates me but I don't know the answer[emoji34]
  23. The way he has been playing lately Baird at best is a sub to bring on in the last 20 and that's it. Ref has lost the plot and is setting a precedence for the season ahead.
  24. The one thing I'll say in Rankins favour is there are very few United fans on social media who have anything but good words to say about him. Got to give him a chance.
  25. Thank f**k someone is talking about Falkirk Fc again. The last few pages of this thread was giving me the fear. It was like I was reading it but not believing my old eyes[emoji44]
