  1. I don't think they will, they'd be mad to if they're looking after their long term future. As Ivo points out, there's nothing to be gained in such a weak league. Yes, a much easier shot at the LL play-offs, but up against 2 tough teams they'll rarely beat and at what price longer term playing amateur teams on a weekly basis.
  2. FWF has clarified, rules basically remain unchanged. The leagues decide where a relegated club goes, and the clubs themselves will have a say in that, I believe they nominate or express a preference.
  3. Not what I was hearing, but it's just heresay. Look at it another way, Gretna/Dalbeattie get relegated to the SoS, they are now in that league until such times as they can overcome the WoS and EoS Champs, they also run the risk of the SoS being "re-aligned" at a lower tier level in future. If however they choose the WoS Premier, they're at least guaranteed a quality of football matching the LL and better supported sides. They'll likely never return to the LL but they're in a better environment than the SoS, and a chance to play regularly at a good level.
  4. "The bottom club will be relegated to the League which will have been decided by the Boards of the three leagues prior to the start of each season." http://slfl.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Scottish-Lowland-Football-League-Rules-Version-10.pdf I'm taking from that, that clubs can express their preference and it's then upto the leagues to agree or disagree.
  5. I was told that clubs nominate the league to be relegated into prior to the start of each season and this is then rubber stamped by the leagues concerned (perhaps in order to veto eg EK nominating EoS or SoS). The chat was that Dalbeattie and Gretna would in future nominate the WoS. That could have been inaccurate or since changed. Have the leagues now defined areas? in which case the Tayside question has been definitively resolved as far as the EoS are concerned?
  6. I'd be surprised if either of those clubs chose the SoS to drop into. The new WoS Premier is probably a better environment to play in long term rather than the SoS which may eventually become a lower level in the west part of the pyramid.
  7. The problem WW currently face is that the EoS Premier is as strong as the LL, it's a very difficult league for smaller clubs to be competitive in at the moment. It's going to take a while for the strong clubs to gravitate towards the LL and for the weaker LL clubs to replace them. That will leave them in the new First Division next season and that's not going to be an easy proposition to get out of either, then you'll have the prospect of Whitburn, Armadale, Fauldhouse, Bathgate, maybe Tayport working their way out of the basement division(s) and aiming higher, assuming they join up next season. They'll find it tough to get back to the Premier short term and the LL is probably a distant dream they may never experience again.
  8. Pretty much, it's an odd thing to come out with when you've just taken the job.
  9. What has this got to do with Blackburn? you coping with lockdown?

  11. I guess it's hitting home just what a mistake it was to be "loyal" to the SJFA. Broxburn and Penicuik last season, Tranent this season, Dundonald on telly (who very nearly decided against moving) and one from Bonnyrigg/Bo'ness playing at Dens Park. Whitburn, Armadale, Fauldhouse and Bathgate all had the potential to emulate them. The first two are big clubs who, if run well, can get hundreds through the gate and compete at the top end of the Premier. Now they're miles behind.
  12. They're 3 points off second place. As it transpires, Kelty are probably going to run away with it.
  13. I think ES were listed in most people's top 3 given the substantial financial investment they've had, so yes they were one of the contenders.
  14. Great result from Tranent Juniors today beating one of the LL title favourites, whilst Jeanfield Swifts push Kelty all the way at Central Park. Of the 4 LL clubs left involved in the Scottish Cup, 3 are ex-Junior......
  15. Delicious. Expect the politicking from Ken to start again soon to get them into the Lowland League.
  16. Do you read posts before responding? I'm talking about Storm Bella which is just about to hit, rain and high winds....
  17. When someone falsely accuses my club of a wrongdoing on a public forum, I can be unpleasant in return if that false accusation isn't retracted. I've been called a lot worse than a numpty on here. Let's just leave it at that, and your version of events is bang on. Hopefully this storm that's hitting tomorrow doesn't affect the game too badly.
  18. My point is, maybe it's time the EoS formalised what areas they cover. That'll then let clubs know for sure where they stand.
  19. I know what they were told, but the fact remains that Tayside clubs are outside the EoS area and I believe it remains within the power of the board whether they allow an application of that sort to get to a vote if they don't meet requirements. Perhaps being in Dundee or Angus means they don't meet requirements, I don't know. Livingston Utd applied late last year but the board decided not to make an exception and put it to a vote at AGM, telling them to try again next year. Perhaps the EoS need to make it clear, and decide whether they will accept applications north of the HL/LL boundary so everyone knows where they stand. The clubs can decide that basic principle at the next meeting. Better surely than letting clubs apply, go to a vote, and being turned away.
