  1. Not sure the tier 3 sides feel threatened tbh it doesn’t directly effect us. Cove have done well and we’ll see how they get on next year against tougher opposition and full time teams. They had two attempts at the playoffs. And Edinburgh city haven’t got past league 2 since joining. While I agree both kelty and Brora have been extremely hard done too. There’s no certainty either would come in and “walk over” the lower leagues.
  2. This is a good summary of smith. Sad to see us lose out on him as was a big part of our team last season but wish him well - cracking opportunity. Think Chucky will have always been our number 1 target. And a fit Chucky would be more valuable to us than smith.
  3. Yeah Roberts is a strange one bit disappointing he never had a bigger impact but maybe like has been mentioned if he got up to speed fitness wise for next year he might play a bigger part. I hope we keep the majority of the squad together also. There is a good feeling built all around the club, you could see the players cared and always put a shift in regardless of the result. Also see big Gregor Buchanan released wouldn’t have minded seeing him back but Crighton and Fordyce have been quality.
  4. Think it’s a chance to play in a better team at a higher level, for possibly more money. But I’m sure if he’s destined for bigger and better things he’ll get there . Will be interesting to see how he gets on. Scott Robertson wasn’t up to much when he came after doing well with yous but been impressed with currie in the small amount I’ve seen. Anyway hope Stranraer are back in league 1 sooner rather than later [emoji106]
  5. Positive news that we must be an healthy enough position to do this . Hopefully Chucky and Callum Smith next.
  6. Don’t think airdrie would’ve won it but hard not to totally count us out either we had raith and Falkirk away back to back if we had won both then who knows. Falkirk hadn’t beaten us this season. Agree you have been harder done to than us but I think from an airdrie point of you i feel aggrieved too. Maybe likewise with Montrose and EF
  7. Looks as if the 14 - 10 - 10 -10 is also a no go now also. A league with thistle and Falkirk whenever it starts and fans are allowed in will go a long way in helping with gate receipts. However, reduces our chances significantly of getting out the league. Not sure what to make of it tbh will just be glad when it’s back .
  8. As mentioned before don’t think Dunsmore was ever on our radar in the last few weeks anyway . Solid squad you’ve got signed up for next season
  9. Don’t take everything in the Daily Wrag as gospel to be fair. I’m more likely to believe what Miller was stating that we wanted a keeper in full time.
  10. If Hutts is only there part time . Surely Currie’s deal is full time so he’s in every day . Agree with the sentiment that it’s very encouraging if we manage to pull Currie, Ryan and smith off with a chunk of last years squad we’d be building a very capable team.
  11. Certainly a lot of positive reviews of Max Currie going around. A young keeper along side Hutts is probably the way forward. Interesting that the article also suggests a part time deal when as we have mentioned previously, the big deal Miller made in the podcast about having a goalkeeper there full time.
  12. Think Chucky and smith will be the top of list as soon as we can make a move . Don’t think miller would have openly said we wanted them both back if it was totally impossible
  13. Just saw on the east fife thread . A fife paper linking us with Aaron Dunsmore the RB we were linked with before. Can’t say I know much about him as a player . Not sure if there’s any truth in it though with Kyle MacDonald signed up let alone the current situation we are in
  14. Sidewards maybe . Backwards ? [emoji23][emoji23] Anyway, can’t see any truth in this we have Kyle MacDonald signed up for next year who’s only 19 and done well at RB. Looks like a recycled story from when we were in for him before. Maybe it’s full time he’s after...
  15. Don’t know the answer to that but it definitely has nothing to do with rangers. We have lost out just as much as Falkirk have with the premature ending of the season and the failure of league reconstruction... Going by the general information airdrie have given we agreed to the spfl proposal of ending this season on the knowledge that reconstruction was on the cards and a seat at the table.
  16. Wonder if they checked their junk mail incase our vote ended up in there
  17. And Your club voted against an independent investigation into them only a few hours ago...
  18. Think we played you 7 times in 2009/10 season as well. Sure it was 4 league games 2 Scottish cup games and a friendly. Mental. Probably the last time we beat you [emoji23]
  19. Wonder how’s side we will take in the EGM tomorrow then. Would be good to hear from the club about the failed reconstruction.
  20. Plenty of teams have gone back to back relegations in the past pretty sure thistle won’t have expected to go down from the championship at the start of this year and likewise Falkirk the year before
  21. Don’t think they would’ve bothered forming a reconstruction task force and hetherington being a part of it, if it wasn’t at least a possibility.
  22. Airdrie are a full time / part time hybrid. Think we are aiming for more full timers than last year.
  23. Agreed just reread our original statement regarding the league conclusion. Sounds as if we weren’t happy with the league finishing as was however either we’ve been mislead or naivety on our part to think reconstruction was a genuine strong possibility. Regardless, all a very disappointing way to end the season thoroughly enjoyed watching that team this year (even the games we lost). There was a good feeling about the place and I genuinely believe we could’ve gone all the way through the playoffs.
  24. Maybe on the pessimistic side but although raith well and truly had the beating of us they still dropped enough points against other teams to allow us to be in touching distance. Can see thistle spending and being stronger than that. Falkirk also improved when they changed manager and you’d expect them to be better next year. Cove as well coming up isnt ideal can see them thinking themselves as play off contenders also with us Montrose and east fife all about. All ifs buts and maybes though will be interesting to see what we can afford player wise when the situation allows. Getting Smith and Chucky would be key to any promotion bid imo
