  1. I had one in 1982 (Easton , PA) and another in Dublin in March 1988. I think I have boycotted them since but cant quite remeber why....but I am fine with that
  2. "something major" - like to elaborate on that? Their accounts do not corroborate perfectly but surely that is to be expected from a group who had been drinking most of the evening - we would all get timings a little out and have different interpretations on what exactly we saw or heard. I am of the opinion that the apartment was left unlocked, Maddy woke up and wandered out of her own accord - what happened next no one knows. The McCanns were negligent by leaving the apartment unlocked and unsupervised so I do think their first action was to "stage" the theory of abduction - a break in through the window - rather than be accused of gross negligence of leaving the door unlocked.
  3. I finished the seriies tonight and thought the same. The Kennedys came across terribly and it was all about them raising their own profile by splashing their cash at the first Private Detective they came across in an old phone book I think the most likely scenario is something I have read on here a few times. Maddy woke up and went out of the unlocked apartment looking for her Mum and Dad - took a wrong turning and just happened to wander in to the path of a peado or child snatcher who thought it must have been christmas. The McCans were of course negligent in leaving the kids unsupervised and I think they opened the window (to suggest a breakin by the abdutor) to cover up the fact the apartment was unlocked
  4. I cycled that road when I did Lands End to John O'Groats a few years ago - I arrived in Inverness at around 6pm shattered after covering 100 miles with an injury, however had macaroni cheese and chips at a chipper in Inverness and that gave me the energy to set off and get further up the road to Tain (arriving around 9.45pm) Road was really quiet and the dualed section has about a 1m strip inside the catseyes which was perfect for cycling on. Next morning I set off from Tain to JoG and again found the road really quiet (obviously there are hilly areas beyond Brora) Did the full 880 miles in just over 6 days - then got ferry to Orkney for the return ferry to Aberdeen at midnight - only problem was I had arrived on a day when the ferry did not run so had to get a hotel and wait for midnight the next day - no problem as gave em an opportunity to see a bit of Orkney.
  5. Taken from an article in National Club Golfer last week - I used Golf Genious at an Open at Dundonald three years ago - works very well. The VMS system was going to be made available for this purpose "very soon" according to the V1 app last week (https://scottish.golf/) "There are tournament management software providers, such as Golf Genius, that already handle hundreds of thousands of competitions worldwide completely virtually. The firm, which powers nearly every state and regional golf association in the USA through its partnership with USGA Tournament Management, allows players to enter their scores for any type of event, and group size, through its app on a smartphone, as well as viewing live leaderboards and custom event websites. Scotland’s Venue Management System will give participating clubs the opportunity to make their events completely digital. From paying for a competition, to signing in, to entering scores and certifying a virtual scorecard which then uploads to the cloud, there is nothing a player won’t be able to do on a tournament day from their palm of their hand."
  6. another 18 holes tonight. Does anyone know when competitive golf (medals) are likely to return? My club is having a period of social golf - which is fair enough as it will allow all members a chance to get on the course. I believe the main issue about competitive golf would be the scoring and use of electronic (phone based) scoring rather than scorecard. I understand V1 (howdidido) will have an app "very soon" but not sure when and whether or not it will be a method most clubs can adopt. I pretty much only play competitive golf and sure i will get bored of bounce games once the novelty of actually getting on the course wears off
  7. Just played 18 holes at Kemnay - course is in sensational condition and greens as good as they have ever been. What a day to get back on the course - 23c It is so good to be back on the course.....just cant wait for competions to start now.
  8. I drove the car for around 30 minutes to see if I was fit enough to drive the journey back to London - this is embarassing and all very much "the dog ate my homework, honest miss"
  9. I see that the BBC news website has changed Laura Kuenssbergs job title to more accurately reflect her status....... By Laura Kuenssberg, falsePolitical editor https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-scotland-52558197
  10. This would mean 12 games post split. Although I would favour a 6-8 split (total 36 games for top 6) Surely a team in 7th with 12 games to go would / should fancy their chances of a European place - playing all their rivals a further 2 times I think a 14 team top division with an 6-8 spilt is preferable to the current set up (inbalance of home and away fixtures) Most important features of reconstruction for me are a return to playing with a white ball and re-naming the divisions 1,2 & 3 (hate this copying of wanky english division names....championship????)
