  1. We might do that (at least a bit) at Tannadice, but I think Doolan goes strong for this game regardless of what Airdrie do on Friday.
  2. I’d probably have had Milne in it. Apart from the first few weeks of the season when he was still recovering from injury, he’s been consistently solid. McMillan’s not really been and but definitely hasn’t been as good this season as he was last, where he more than merited our POTY.
  3. I think McDaid would be doing well to get a gig at any championship club these days let alone one that should be building a squad to challenge at the top. He was pretty atrocious by all accounts with Falkirk in League 1, and barring a short run of decent form (ironically when he had been scheduled to join us on loan during the covid season) he was fairly uninspiring at Dundee. That said he might be doing well in LOI. I think Stephen O’Donnell will either stay as a squad player at Motherwell or another bottom-half Premiership club might take a punt on him so unlikely to return but would take him as a McMillan replacement. Would be pleased to sign McInroy permanently but not that bothered if we don’t. Wonder if Kevin Holt will get a contract extension at United presuming they get promoted? If not could have a few championship offers.
  4. Not really confident for this given our record at Starks Park, if it wasn’t for the fact that Airdrie are so close to us at the moment I’d be more than happy to accept a point here. Raith can’t collapse enough to bottle 2nd IMO so they’ll be okay, we should simply focus on trying to get 3rd place consolidated.
  5. We were running our luck tbh with not adding to the wide options in January. I think McInroy is probably most likely to start in his place for now, which isn’t ideal.
  6. Very disappointing that Lawless is probably out for the season. He’s not been at his best in recent weeks but our complete lack of wide cover means it’s surely a huge concern heading into the final games & play-offs.
  7. One of the reasons that it’s quite obvious IMO that McCoist 1. wasn’t really referring to sectarianism or racism and 2. Doesn’t at all understand the bill beyond the type of thing you’d expect to read in The Sun (other rags are available). He wasn’t being bigoted (and I don’t think is a bigot) but he also wasn’t joking as some have felt, he genuinely believes that football fans, Rangers or otherwise, are at risk of being charged under the hate crime bill by merely abusing opposition fans or players etc - which obviously you can guarantee will happen at almost every match. All in all, he’s just been a bit thick on National Radio and it’s backfired on him. Still pretty embarrassing of course particularly after his recent attempt at being offended himself when Scotland fans booed GSTK against England.
  8. Agree with this. Despite the tons of abuse he seemed to be getting from people near me for his decisions, I thought he & the officials had a decent game, significantly better than some of the refereeing displays we’ve seen in games involving us recently.
  9. As much as Inverness were more dominant, apart from the Kerr chance (he should’ve scored) they didn’t really trouble or test Mitchell. Luke McBeth was tremendous once again in defence and I think Milne was probably the other stand out for Thistle. Fitzpatrick when he’s low on confidence really struggles and the difficulty for Doolan is, we have no like-for-like replacement for him, definitely wasn’t his day. It was really 10 v 10 because Alston was utterly hopeless when he came on. We’ve played better and lost so take the 3 points and move on.
  10. Porteous and Shankland drop out for Cooper and Dykes
  11. Really brilliant interview this. Would encourage all Jags fans to give it a listen.
  12. I agree that he’s a good player and most definitely one of the better full backs in the division. Did he get injured or something after he left Morton in the summer? It seems odd he didn’t get an opportunity at a Premiership club given he was a free agent.
  13. Nah. Don’t think that’d have went down too well with his own fans with only a minute to go.
  14. Feel a bit sorry for Doolan in the sense that he finally shifted things tactically and moved Neilson into midfield for the DU game and it seemed to work, and now due to injuries he’s having to potentially revert back to the previous positions personnel wise. But I think he’s got to move Milne back to LB and Neilson into central defence. It was a bit too much square pegs in round holes for my liking on Saturday. It’s unfortunate that Williams is injured otherwise he could probably justify keeping Neilson again in midfield for this game. If we’re still looking for extra defensive cover in the midfield Stanway might be a decent option to come in alongside McBeth. Confident we can score goals as always, but the defensive side of the game (as a team not even just as a back 4) is still nowhere near good enough and feel to get anything from the game we’d need to at least score a few.
  15. Wasn’t sure about Moult’s potential Red initially but he’s incredibly lucky. Doc could probably have been sent off too. Not sure on the United penalty claim simply because you can’t see it very clearly on the highlights.
  16. Ross Stewart wasn’t signed to be an upgrade on anyone tbf, he was signed at a time when it was thought David Mitchell might have a serious injury, and the club wanted Mason McCready to go and get minutes on loan, so we needed a backup GK. Stewart has always been pretty crap, understood the clamour for Sneddon to be dropped, couldn’t understand anyone thinking Stewart would be any better however. Wonder where Mitchell is at fitness wise.
  17. Sneddon should be dropped for the next match, Doolan’s now got two other viable options on the bench to choose from (unless Ross Stewart has improved from a few years ago it’ll probably be Mitchell), Jamie can’t complain he hasn’t been given a good chance this season even when he’s had a poor game the manager has stuck with him. Brian Graham’s post match interview was spot on, 2 irritating things; the first that we score 3 away from home but don’t win, and secondly we’ve yet again failed to properly capitalise on one of the team’s above dropping points.
  18. Good to see McBeth come in for a start, surprised that we’re still not starting O’Reilly, given we can still be fairly weak defensively on occasion.
